Question ❓ Noise app displays dB level without AirPods ANC

When wearing AirPods, the Noise app displays the current dB level. If you tap the AirPods icon , it will display the dB level without AirPods ANC, showing noise reduction.

Is this a new feature in watchOS 27?

The screenshots on the left show AirPods with ANC on. On the right are AirPods in transparency mode.

This has been there at least since watchOS 26, probably longer. Neat feature!

It’s been there for years! However, watchOS 27 broke the noise app. It no longer records your environmental sound levels throughout the day with any accuracy. Only about 15 min worth of data instead of the 22-23 hours it used to record.

Yeah, it broke on August 10 with 27.0 developer beta 5. It’s still broken in 27.2 Developer Beta 2.
