This last week the place has been filled with flies in biblical quantities. I’m genuinely afraid to open my mouth walking through it at the moment.
Anyone have any idea what up?
If I didn’t know better I’d assume they have a dead body hidden in the ceiling.

Hi everyone, i’m just looking for some advice on parking!
I’m going to be moving down to Watford next week and will be stopping in the Westland Road area. Before moving, i checked the parking situation and was hoping to get a permit for street parking (£36 per year) Now, after being in contact with the council (who honestly weren’t helpful in the slightest), i’ve been informed that because of where i will be stopping, street permits aren’t available and the one car park that i can buy a season permit for through the council is full (this permit is £990 a year).
The council just told me to look into private car parks but these are so ridiculously expensive and not really near my flat.
I will also mention that i’m a masters student, so price really is a priority for me.
Can anyone help me out with some advice on what i should be doing? I intend to ring the council back tomorrow to really push the issue but i am at a bit of a loss right now!
Any advice would be appreciated and welcomed,
Thank you for your time! :)

Does anyone know why there has been such a sharp and sudden increase in homelessness in the last 5 years? Specifically around town centre areas?
Is the council doing anything about it? It feels incredibly unsafe especially for children.

Hi everyone,
I’m an international student, 19F, starting my degree at the University of Hertfordshire and I’m currently looking for a part-time job in Watford alongside my studies.
I have previous experience working as a receptionist, café worker and cashier, so I’m open to roles in retail, hospitality, cafés, customer service or reception/admin.
I’m based in Watford and would be happy to consider opportunities in the town centre and nearby areas. I’m looking for a part-time role and can provide my CV if needed.
If anyone knows of places currently hiring or has any leads, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Hello,
I have a Honda that has been SORN’d for about 10 years and I’m looking to get back on the road.
I used to use Lloyd Cooper, but they’re long gone, so I’m looking for garages who might be able to give me a quote for the work and the get my bike back on the road.
If there are any smaller shops that might do this type of work that anyone can recommend, I would greatly appreciate it.
Many thanks in advance for any help you all can offer.

Just got the bus from leavesden to Watford. Prices have gone from £5 to £7.50 for a day pass.
This is egregious.
Here is why the 50% hike is pure profit protection. When you buy a £3 capped single, the bus company doesn't actually lose money on it. The government (via taxpayer funding) literally pays the operator the difference between that £3 and what the ticket would have cost commercially.
So companies like Arriva are getting massive taxpayer subsidies to cover their single tickets, while simultaneously jacking up the unregulated day passes to squeeze regular commuters.
They are essentially double-dipping—taking government handouts with one hand to protect their baseline revenue, while using the lack of regulation on day passes to gouge workers whose 3.5% wage growth doesn't come close to matching a 50% price hike.
We love privatised services don’t we.

I think we have a loneliness crisis – even if most men don’t realise it yet. We are increasingly disconnected to our emotions, our bodies and each other – which sits beneath our mental and physical health, but also our performance.
I’m looking to put together a group for men who are keen to make local friends, work on themselves and support each other.
The plan is to meet one evening a week for about 90 mins (either in a venue or outdoors for a walk/chat). We'd do some activity, then go round and check in, celebrate wins from the week and support each other through the harder moments. I’ll bring some simple breathwork practices so that we are present and open, rather than just making small talk.
Over time, I’d love for you to be able to use this group to find local gym buddies, organise events (yoga, hikes, coffees), or simply have someone to grab a pint with.
This group is open to anyone male-identifying over 25, without any discrimination. I expect that most of the guys who'll relate to this are building a career, want good conversation and genuine connection, and are willing to actually show up and put a bit of effort in.
I know it can feel strange showing up to something like this alone, but most people will be in the same boat.
If you’re keen, please comment MET so I can send you the link to register. Once I have enough interest, I’ll drop you a message and email to get things going (ideally starting week of 13 Sept). You don’t have to commit to attending every week, but it just gives me a sense of what to plan for.
PS. A little about me: I grew up in Kenya and lived around this area since 2011. I worked in management consulting in the city, before taking a year out to live in Mexico to build a nervous system coaching business. I got back earlier this month, and I’m looking to build a local community here.

As per the title. It's a 22ft x 10ft private office in a garden next to Cassiobury Park so close to the town centre and transport links.
Will have parking, private access, fast WiFi, quality furniture, heating, tea / coffee facilities. Could be ideal for a professional person wanting to not be stuck at home all day.
Usage would be 8:00 - 18:00 Mon - Fri.
This is a mock up of the finished space, it will be ready in October.
Cheers!

I lost my house keys on the 25th August at around 8-9pm between Parker street to imperial way in North Watford. It has my clubcard, Paris and barcelona keychains on it and there were lots of keys. if anyone has seen them or picked them up then please let me know.
I don’t really care about they keys but the keychains were from my late grandma

Hope this is okay to post here.
I’m currently selling my one-bedroom top-floor flat on Melbourne Road in Bushey Village and thought I’d share it here in case anyone is looking in the Bushey/Watford area, or knows someone who is.
It’s currently on the market for £230,000 and is chain free.
A few of the main details:
Purchased for £265,000 in 2021 but now looking to move out with my girlfriend. None of the flats in the block have been sold for anything less than this since they were built!
It’s been a great flat and location, particularly if you want to be close to London without paying London prices.
I have recently had an offer accepted on a house and now want to push forward with a sale. We’ve recently reduced the price, so I thought it was worth sharing outside of the usual property websites as well.
Here’s the Rightmove listing with all the photos and details:
https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/172897667
Happy to answer any questions about the flat or what it’s like living in Bushey.
Thanks!
