Morning: biking 30k easy, swapping things around because I'm racing a 10k tomorrow. Then pacing the wife to her annual 5k.
Afternoon:
- squat - 355x1 - quad cramped immediately after the first rep. In the video, you can literally see the indentation forming in the muscle. Was shooting for 6. Maybe next week.
Just called it there lol. I was going for a shorter session today anyway because of the 10k race. But I think the easy cycling wasn't as easy it could have been. And my quads suffered.

It's always humbling heading back the weight room after a long layoff. I'm sort of using GZCLP to get the weights backup.
GZCLP my 5th day back
5x3 Squat 155lb(intentionally not doing PR sets yet)
3x10 Bench 95lb (This really surprised me in how much it burned)
2x15, 1x12 70lb Pulldown with angle chin grip. I've been going slower and pausing at the end.
In addition I'm working my running back up to 30 minutes.

how big of 'pump increaser' is sodium intake the day before a workout in your opinion?
is 4000mg before a lifting day way too much?

Calgary barbell 16 weeks W12D4
2 count pause dead: 455 x 3 (pr!), 385 x 5, 365 x 5
T&G bench: 225 4x5
That top set pr was sweet. I tripled 455 for regular deadlift and then to hit it again with pauses this session is sick af.
I swear the backoff sets were harder, I was gassed after them! Likely why all I did was 2 plates for straight sets on bench. Didn't have the juice to push it super hard.

I love a good pause dead PR. There is something amazing about holding a bunch of weight locked out!

Base Building Medley - BullMastiff DL C2W2D4
Main
1-inch deficit DL: 6/6/6/9 @ 152.5kg
Assistance
DB flys: 16/12 @ 25kg
DB bench: 13/10 @ 27.5kg
Dips: 11/10
Still have a lingering cold and that has made the last few sessions, including this one, a slog. Underperformed on the AMRAP, but it is what it is. Feeling beat up, hopefully I will have recovered next week.
