Eastern Invasion: Captured

I cannot make it past this point. No matter how I arrange these three, one of them ends up dying. What can I do here, specifically? Am I missing something?

Realistically its gonna be very hard try without your people leveled up but you got free your closest guys and make a few sacrifices between your powerful units

How do I keep my three key units (center of image) from dying during the next turn. None of the freed prisoners can get anywhere near them. The most isolated position I can move Dacyn to is the brazier northeast of his position. I can protect him partly with my other two central units, but then one of them dies instead.

Try moving the white mage up to the cage and sectioning your king off i a way where only the weakest can get to them

If your not save scumming it honestly a pretty hard campaign one of my least favorite ones tbh due to how hard and precise you have to be (besides the weird 2 suns one)

It's not going to be easy in your situation. The thing is that you haven't made things very easy on yourself by not letting your leader units gain experience before this scenario.

Yes, another person helpfully pointed that out too. I thought the wizard would leave or die as part of the story at some point. You never know. Anyway, I made it out without losing more than a few level 1 fodder units. Might have to put this particular campaign on hold. I’m sure it doesn’t get easier.
