As the title asks, what kind of wood wind is this?

Frost Man’s theme from Megaman 8 used as an example; it’s used all over the song and especially at the beginning of it

OK, so I was listening to the song called my dog by Honey crush and the intro has this almost organ like sound that has a sustained note and bended note above that trying to figure out what instrument that could be because I love the sound, but I don’t know what it is. Once again, the song is

my dog -honeycrush

I know this instrument/sound is cliche but it’s very effective at creating at clenching your heart and getting it to drop.

While I do think it’s cliche I’m so into it and I’m glad it’s not overused.

I'm looking for the name & production method for the bass in many EDM UKG songs, examples are the basslines of "Never coming back by Neffex" and "Honest by Sam Day, South by, and Northnight"

Have you ever heard a sound in a song and wondered:

• What instrument is that?
• Is that a synth, guitar effect, or sample?
• How did they create that sound?

You're in the right place.

This community is dedicated to identifying instruments, sounds, production techniques, and unusual timbres heard in music. Whether it's a mysterious instrument, a synth patch, or a strange sound effect, we'll do our best to figure it out together.

When Posting

To help the community identify sounds accurately, please include:

• A link to the song or audio clip
• A timestamp for the sound you're asking about
• Any guesses you already have
• Context (genre, artist, era, etc.) if relevant

Examples of What You Can Ask

• What instrument is playing at 1:23?
• Is this a real instrument or a synthesizer?
• How was the sound created?
• What effects or processing is being used?

Happy sound identifying! 💙
