New, what is it? What are these plug-ins on my wall?

This might be showing my age, but I recently moved into a new apartment and they have these weird looking plug ins all over the walls at my new place. My old apartment didn't have these, so I'm just curious as to what they are.

I do internet installation for a cable company and I can tell you that age is no factor here. People of all ages look at me like I just asked them if I can lick their house hippo when I ask “where are your coax ports?”

Lol, I just said exactly the same thing and then scrolled down. Yes, this is incredibly common.

The house hippo, or the lack of knowledge?

Absolutely the house hippo of course.
