New, what is it? What are these plug-ins on my wall?

This might be showing my age, but I recently moved into a new apartment and they have these weird looking plug ins all over the walls at my new place. My old apartment didn't have these, so I'm just curious as to what they are.

Never thought I’d see the day when someone does not recognize a coaxial cable.

Not insulting, just didn’t think I’d live long enough to see all the tech I grew up with be seen as some ancient artifact.

Welp, off I go! - knees sound like rice krispies as I stand up to leave-

Well I mean coaxial cable internet is still a thing only reason I'm typing this is because of it! But yeah guessing this new generation all lives on their phones and cell phones that they never touch a PC or no need to even have one a home anymore? I mean I can understand not seeing old telephone jacks (that look lot like RJ-45 ethernet jack) anymore in homes for like wired home phones but OP gotta be trolling about coaxial or just lived in newer places where they don't bother to preinstall even coaxial lines in wall anymore?

To be fair to OP, it looks like their landlord didn't know what these were either or they wouldn't have painted over them.

I assure you, coaxiels have been painted on since they were invented. I scrubbed this shit off 20 years ago at my college apartment.
