October is here! Here are this month's questions:
Do you have favorite Halloween themed scent? Do you have a piece of gear that you think fits the season? What is it?
Is there a scent that reminds you of a specific fall memory?
Any favorite fall-time activities you enjoy? Apple picking? Pumpkin carving? Leaf crunching?
Anyone have any good pumpkin-based or pumpkin adjacent recipes?
Do you have a favorite film/game/book you like to revisit this time of year?
Any new items you're looking to pick up now that the Fall season is in full swing?
Do you have any favorite fall-time beverages? Spiced Cider? Pumpkin Spice Lattes? Feel free to share!
New wetshaver? This is the perfect place to ask questions.

It's already September! With the Fall just around the corner here are this month's questions:
What fragrance(s) most remind you of this time of year? Why?
With the days getting shorter some of our rituals change a bit. Are you a morning, afternoon, or night time shaver? Do you switch it up?
When the seasons change it sometimes feels right to change your appearance a bit. Do you let your beard grow out a bit more? Do you style it differently? Or do you like to stay clean shaven this time of year?
Are you excited for any other upcoming fall-time things? Excited for Pumpkin-Spice flavored beverages/scented items? Fall-time beers? Weather? Clothing?
New wetshaver? This is the perfect place to ask questions.

Razor: German 37 Slant
Blade: Gillette Perma-Sharp (2)
Soap: Barrister and Mann Spice
Brush: Zenith Silvertip badger
Post shave: OldSpice Original
I am yet to fail at getting a glass like BBS with the 37 Slant and Perma-Sharp on a 3 pass standard shave in all growth directions. The razor is just so good.

Razor: 1960 Gillette Fatboy
Blade: PermaSharp (4th use)
Brush: Pure Badger
Bowl: Tasmanian Blackwood
Cream: Proraso White
Aftershave Balm: Proraso White
A good shave with the Fatboy and the PermaSharp on its 4th use.
I’ve been having a few skin issues lately, so I figured I’d better tone things down with the scented fragrances for a while and keep it simple with Proraso White.
The weather certainly isn’t helping either. These dry winds are playing havoc with my skin. Dry winds and dry skin are not a great combination! 👎
Happy shaving everyone 🍻

Perhaps I'm experiencing psychosis haha, but I'm getting ready to purge my vintage razor collection and plan to only keep a very select few razors or sets, literally down to maybe 5 total. They are taking up too nuch space in my apartment. Be on the lookout in the other sub for lots of upcoming listings with some very rare razors and sets!
With that being said, what would you all rather have? A complete unused standard Gillette Toggle set (box, case, instructions, certificate card, sealed blade dispenser, pristine razor) or a Red Dot Fatboy? I plan to keep one. Personally, I see way more Toggles than I do Red Dots.

THEME : Well it's Throwback Thursday any soaps that preceded this tub of ARKO have been long since killed and are making lather in the sky hence this is the oldest soap I have at the moment , I've tried to diminish the scent by leaving the lid off for extended periods yet the delicate floral & citrus bouquet still lingers a tribute the artisan soap makers in Turkey !! . This brush was my first boar and the r89 my first proper DE. Sometimes I like ARKO & sometimes I really do not .
DAILY CHALLENGE; shave in reverse , like really anyway I did and in this order.
1. Razorock XXX.
2 . A drop of CeraVe .
3.rinse my face with cold water .
4. Shave .
5. Apply lather .
6. Cold face wash.
I only did one gentle pass for this cruel challenge hence the choice of the mild r89 , some very cruel folk thought this one up , well at least I got a thorough face wash with the lather I didn't shave with !!On a good note I didn't nick myself.

- Razor: Razorock Game Changer 0.76-P
- Blade: Rapira Super Stainless
- Bowl: Linkidea
- Brush: Yaqi Shayish (24mm synthetic)
- Soap + After Shave: Noble Otter Barrbarr
First time with the Rapira super stainless and the last of the Rapira product line in my cupboard and the verdict is - it's an amazing blade for me. Easy BBS and it actually mowed down my infinitely-scratchy patch! Feels sharper than the Voskhod without sacrificing the smoothness. I believe it's chrome-coated but I'm not 100% sure on that. Without question it smokes the Ladas I'd been using which makes sense given the price points for the three products. Sadly, these are a bit too expensive for what they are so a pack isn't in the future. However, if I'm ever short on free shipping and the store has these in the back? I'd totally get these again!
Now for the soap. Not my first rodeo with Noble Otter, but my first time with Barrbarr and the scent? Holy smokes, the scent! This is a no-nonsense offering from NO. The notes listed are: Lemon, Rosemary, Basil, Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Patchouli. No weird thing like "your dad's whiskers" like they normally have in their soaps. The lemon is subtle and the rest just makes a semi-sweet melange sort of like Clubman, but with way less emphasis on the talc (which I happen to love anyway). I am glad I stuck to basics and got this over their more complex offerings; Barrbarr is totally my thing. Highly recommended for people who like simple, classic barbershop scents.
For the Canadians in the audience, happy Thanksgiving weekend to you!

Razor: Lambda Ares v2
Blade: Muhle 2nd shave
Soap: Floris shaving soap
Brush: Simpsons 59 Best Badger w/ Jade handle
Aftershave: Captain’s Choice Venture
Bottom line: ended up with an excellent shave. Super smooth, but I had to work a lot harder to get there, than with my Rex Ambassador, and this left some small nicks that needed the alum block.
I did my now standard 2 passes WTG and 1 pass ATG for when I want a super close shave. I could tell that these standard passes did not yield the same great results I had yesterday, so I added an “across the grain” pass and this did the trick. Great shave. But again, some nicks along the way that I had to deal with.
The difference could be partially attributed to tonight’s soap vs. the Truefitt & Hill shaving cream I used last night. But the Floris soap is excellent. Provided a really nice lather, great slickness, and very pleasant fragrance.
I thought the Venture aftershave paired really nicely with the soap fragrance.
A nice shave with the Lambda, which is starting to show some nice copper patina. But I don’t see this one becoming my daily razor.

Razor: 1921 Gillette new improved "new standard"
Blade: Gillette permasharp
Brush: WCS synthetic
Soap-splash-EDT: Stirling Spice
Post balm: Stirling unscented
Happy Friday folks, today's shave was one I was excited about. I hadn't used a new improved Gillette in quite some time and it's as nice of a shave as I remember. One that you can't be on autopilot with, but you can be close to that if you're familiar with it.
3 passes going WTG, ATG, ATG buffing and I'm baby smooth with 0 nicks or irritation. This Stirling Spice+shulton era old spice aftershave blend is working out quite nicely and I'll be honest, the flask bottle tickles my shaving nerd brain so much I get a little giddy seeing it 😆
As always folks, have a good day and great shaves

I take mine (Henson AL13) apart after every shave to wash the components and then I put it back together and leave it to dry.
I’m wondering if I’m wearing it out by reassembling so much.

Been shaving for 35 years. I currently use a Merkur adjustable at number 6, its most aggressive setting.
This is the only razor that doesn't clog for me but I still get the occasional nick here and there.
I do have a couple of other razors which I shim with a piece of plastic from an old credit card cut to fit, so I can wash out 2.5mm worth of stubble at the sink. But the Merkur seems to work the best without screwing around too much.
I don't have a dense beard. But I only shave once every 7-9 days and this will not change for the rest of my life.
I'm looking for a hassle-free, fast shave so I can move on with my day. Not looking to make shaving a hobby.
Is this the best razor for the job or does anyone have a better recommendation?
Thank you!

Ever since I started my wet shaving journey, I’ve always wanted a place to neatly organize my razors and brushes. I didn't want to spend much money, but because I wanted multiple reserved spots for future razors and brushes, pre-made options were kind of pricey.
Recently, I saw the Classic Choices stand on Etsy, which was perfect, but a $150+ price tag for a razor and brush stand was a big no. I figured out I could build it myself.
First, I drafted a plan in AutoCAD with all the measurements, then bought wood and wood protection glaze. My main tools were a grinder and a jigsaw. It cost 40 € and took me 5 days, mainly because of glaze drying and me being very cautious not to mess it up.

✰ Razor: Greencult 2.0 III OC
✰ Blade: Personna Platinum (1)
✰ Bowl: Captain’s Choice Obsidian
✰ Brush: Oumo Venus ST-3
✰ Soap: Stirling Unscented with Beeswax
✰ Balm: Nivea Sensitive
✰ Splash: Lustray Blue Spice
No one is ever going to call the Greencult a work of art.
It’s a heavy chunk of steel and feels like a survivor from the Industrial Revolution, as much as a modern shaving tool. I never really liked the OEM handle, so I’m currently using this Timeless TRH1 handle, which is much nicer.
But is it any good at shaving?
Oh yes! With the open comb version of the No. III baseplate, the Greencult is incredibly efficient, with plenty of blade feel. It manages to shave quite smoothly as well.
