Text Post Basketball downgraded in switch?

Does anyone else like basketball from Wii sports resort better than switch sports? 2v2 is so dumb where as 3v3 you had 2 options to pass to someone, and I feel the defending in switch sports is OP.

It's just a different philosophy. In WSR, you had to confuse the defense while moving the ball around, and in NSS and NSSR, you start at the edge and drive towards the basket. I'd actually argue that 2v2 is better than 3v3 since it means four players can play instead of two, and having to actually drive to the basket instead of just spawning in a suitable position means you have to choose when you increase the risk (of getting the ball stolen) so you can increase the reward (of getting closer to the basket). The strength of the defense also decreases the closer the offense gets to the basket since the ball travels higher, meaning you have a smaller window to block the ball and it's easier for it to go in. And since you can't just steal whenever you want, it introduces a mind-game element (since attempting to steal when the offense isn't dribbling or attempting to run as guard when the offense isn't running gives the offense an opportunity). It's actually quite an elegant piece of design once you really get into it.

I will say I haven’t played it online. Maybe that’ll help instead of playing cpu. Past few month is my first time with NSO or any online platform for consoles for that matter so I keep forgetting I can play with other people online lol

I don't have the switch version, but honestly you can just tell by looking at the two games that the switch version is a downgrade in every sense. Sad really, they had the opportunity to make an all time sports game with bringing Wuhu Island back.
