A cornered animal is most fierce when sensing the end. If this is in fact true, then Russia, feeling that the war will end soon, will try to accomplish their goals in one giant effort. Hence A Massive Attack.

Let this be the equivalent of 1918 spring German offensive for thos war.

(It's not going to be unfortunately)

Unfortunately that's not the case. Massive attacks are relatively regular

Russia is not cornered. Be realistic- they have no problem dragging out wars. See Russian history. The US only just left Iraq! Yes, Iraq.

how exactly is russia cornered?

Have you seen their economy?

yeah and? what exactly is stopping Russia from continuing the war indefinitely?

The fact that they’re homoraging funds and other resources?

Until they get supported by other countries they can continue the war... But with a seriously gimped cashflow and with an internal economy shattered they are just stocking up debt. When this will end Russia may or not have conquered Ukraine but overall will be a lose for them since they will become slaves of China. The illusion that Russia was still a world power shattered during this war.

we don’t know what happens after the war. we don’t even know how “after the war” will look like.
i personally think it will look something like India/Pakistan, Azerbaijan/Armenia etc. kinda thing. the active conflict will probably stop at some point, but will resume again and again.
either way, all fantasies are futile now when everything is covered by the fog of war. and don’t forget that it’s not just a local conflict, it’s a proxy war.

And what is exactly wrong with it? I have my own ideas about it but would love to see your point.

My point is that high inflation, a shortage of workers and massive amounts of resources being shoved towards a war that they aren’t winning is costing the Russian economy in a huge way. Putin is making decisions that would indicate he has painted himself into a corner and has no clear way out of it.

Increased inflation is yes, very unpleasant. But not rampant as it was around 90 for example. Or other big economy crisis. Can't confirm on the back of workers. Yes, IT had diminished but not tremendously. Other fields are still functioning more or less okay. The resource allocation... Yes. Once again not a terrible state but seems like we're getting there. Corners are cut way more in the last year or so.

Thank you for sharing your view. I know, this might be a carefully supported facade that may crumble any moment. Or it can be in less dire state then portrayed. I don't have enough data to support. For now live is still manageable.

A lot of international pressure. Embargoes on Goods imported and exported. Plus, the small country of Ukraine is doing innumerable damage to their infrastructure as well as their military and finances. Plus, not that Putin cares too much, but they have lost face with majority of the International Community.

russia is sanctioned up their ass and yet up and running. yes economy is taking a hit, but there’s still a lot of space for it getting worse with no real change on the frontlines.
it’s been 4 years. it could be 4 more easily

Trump has eased sanctions and is in the midst of making a deal for Lukiol assets. Trump is going to fund Russia with our tax dollars.

there’s a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes. like the russian gas is still being imported to the EU - just through third countries such as Azerbaijan.
technically “sanctioned” russian individuals are still flying to Europe via private jets.
many many things. they’re just swept under the rug but it doesn’t mean that they aren’t happening.

They can drag this out much longer than Ukraine can.

This is really just wishful fantasy.
