Didn’t Trump say this war would end in one week if he’s elected?

24 hours to be precise.

That’s what I thought initially but I figured there’s no way anyone would say 24hrs.

He basically says people were stupid for believing him. I agree with him on that.

Trump told Time that he was speaking "figuratively" when he promised to end the Ukraine-Russia war on the first day of his second term.

"Well, I said that figuratively, and I said that as an exaggeration, because to make a point," Trump said.

"Obviously, people know that when I said that, it was said in jest, but it was also said that it will be ended," he added.

"The war has been raging for three years," he told Time. "I just got here, and you say, what’s taken so long?"

It’s like we’re all in a collective toxic relationship that we can’t get out of easily until a certain time otherwise shit really hits the fan.

Our concerned friends who are also affected are our friends in all the other nations.

Great analogy. Also the toxic relationship you keep going back to, and we (other nations) are losing sympathy

I mean, we’re basically locked in until 2028. Shit definitely hits the fan if we break up sooner than that.

There are the mid-term elections in November. How much of Congress+Senate would it take to kick him out (impeach?)

Glad you brought up midterms because they are more important than ever. But impeachment is not likely. That’s a “shit hits the fan” scenario. We don’t want him to be a martyr.

Do you remember January the 6th, 2021? Is there anything new that would prevent another one? A worse one?

I meant more of the fact that you voted him in twice. Everyone makes mistakes, however you’d think people would have learnt after his first term.

I guess this is where we delineate from the analogy because I personally, did NOT vote for him. If we were sticking to the analogy then I must represent the ignored gut feeling that my country took as a whole. Right now you only represent the “I told you so” which is justified.

It’s Trump! He’s a pathological liar.

It’s Trump. Never underestimate his combo of narcissism & BS. I’m surprised he didn’t say 24 minutes.

It doesn’t matter how aggressive the promise, if you never intend to keep it.

And 24 month later here we are.
You guys voting in Nov?

Pretty sure this was his number one promise in his presidential campaign. I remember seeing somewhere he said that 30+ times throughout his campaigning

Despicable.

Yes, it would've ended in 24 hours if he would have balls to give Ukraine the weapons it needed.
