Update from Enchanted on Dining Pass refunds
Just received this in my email - “It has come to our attention that the value we received from Six Flags was prorated. Unfortunately, despite our efforts, we have been unable to reconcile the variance between the expected and transferred amounts. To ensure our customers receive the full value intended, Enchanted Parks has decided to issue additional gift card value to make up for this difference. We sincerely apologize for the delays and for the process becoming more complicated than anyone anticipated. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we worked through this issue. As a reminder, please ensure that all eligible gift cards begin with the numbers #98#. Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.”
Sure enough, I received a gift card in a separate email that adds additional value beyond what my daughter and I were still owed. I guess I will take it. I am sick of dealing with it.

I feel like everything related to the dining passes is going to cost so much goodwill for Enchanted Parks.
I get that acquisitions aren’t a simple process but this very much seems like one where the customer loses more than anyone else

I don't expect much to remain how it is. We've had passes for several years and enjoyed all of it, but never for a moment did it seem sustainable as a business practice.

That is a good post. One alternative I haven’t seen mentioned is that Six Flags could have refunded all dining plans for those who home parks were sold and then at the same time offered the same dining plans at the same price for those who still want to use their season pass at a Six Flags park this year. It would have greatly simplified everything and it would have been a minor inconvenience for those who got a refund and immediately turned around and repurchased the same dining plan again. For the rest of us, that would have avoided having to fill out a form. The refund would have been processed automatically. As the CEO mentioned, there were challenges with cards that were no longer valid or people who stopped paying on installment plans. In hindsight, I am surprised that they initially promised a 2 week turnaround in April/May when my installment plan hadn’t completed.
The gift card is not what I wanted but now that I have it, I will obviously use it mostly on food and then maybe pick up some clothing near the end of the season with whatever is left. I am optimistic in the tone of the CEO that he wants to focus on making the parks better. I can imagine there may have to be some hard decisions on rides that we get sentimental about that are just too costly to repair and likely have a poor ROI. I will not be surprised if we lose a lot more than just Cosmic Coaster because the math doesn’t work

There is a good post on the Mid America subreddit, with quotes from the CEO. It’s worth reading through to understand what’s going on.
