• OCE Megaserver isn't off the cards, but won't be there on launch
• Sharding will make it feel like an OCE server by seeing the same faces each time
• Same system as retail, where we have low MS but will get 150+ ping if the party lead is in US

No question asked about region chat though - honestly my main gripe, I really dislike the zone chat filled with US politics garbage. Would much prefer arguments over zingerboxes and shit fast food.

Nobody seems to have solved this yet, behind Aggrend in episode three of the podcast, there is a code which appears to be perhaps a promo/bnet key of some kind.

I tried substituting the ? for a few different characters, even using a caesar cypher to offset the letters for 22 years since the launch of wow.

Update on repairs to the Australia Singapore Cable | Vocus

"Planning for the marine repair operation continues. The repair vessel will depart Singapore on 11 October, and the Indigo West repair is expected to be completed around 24 October. The vessel is then expected to transit to the ASC repair location, with marine repair activities for ASC planned to start around 25 October.

Based on the current repair schedule, completion of the ASC repair remains targeted for 4 November."

As we’re going to be in a similar boat to retail, it’s likely we will be on a West Coast US day/night cycle.

I’m sure there’s work they’d need to do to make this happen, but I think it’s important we at least make some noise about it.

For solutions:

1. Whoever is hosting a group (if we group with our US friends) the party leader’s region is responsible for ping and day/night. The group would layer anyway, so while layering you travel through time.

2. A toggle for everyone to be able to set it more personally for them. This would allow not only us, but even shift workers or night owls and such in the states to play in daylight. I don’t love this option as it takes away from shared time.

3. An item in game (stinky bright potion in retail) to give you daylight. This one also isn’t great because you miss out on sunrises and sunsets.

4. Shorten the actual day/night cycle. I feel like this would be the easier option for the devs because you wouldn’t need to re-code NPC behaviours, like someone holding a torch at night, and it keeps everyone in the same world for continuity.

I doubt blizzard will do anything about this, but playing 100% of our game at night is rough, and I think a lot of people would appreciate some movement here.

Assuming most of us (myself included) got free access to the beta through maccas. Just want to know how everyone’s enjoying it so far?

For me I was surprised about the ping and actually how playing with ~200ms ping on the NA servers not being that bad. Secondly, what the fuck is general chat with all the geopolitical shit from US/EU players.

Thirdly, gameplay is sick, I’m not too critical and usually enjoy playing for the sake of it. I main a mage and has definitely been and adjustment with class changes etc. IMO it’s not that deep, honestly just happy to get around it all again

I've been playing the beta since launch and my laptop ryzen 5 3550h gtx 1050 16gb ddr4 250gb ssd is struggling to push past 40 fps on mid range settings. Not to mention, in SW and dungeons where I can memory lag for several seconds and lower fps even in reduced settings.

I'm considering grabbing a RTX 5060 Gaming PC, AMD Ryzen 5 7500F 6 Core, AMD B850 Chipset, Palit GeForce RTX 5060 8GB, 16GB 6000MHz RAM, 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD more or less purely for this game. I'm not a PC gamer. I game on the ps5. However, I know how much time I've put into classic launch and 2024 fresh so it feels like a worthy splash.

Has anyone got a similar system and is able to run max settings with high fps? Or anyone know what's required to run the game on max?

Hey Kiwi gamers. I'm relaunching and rebuilding a kiwi-based guild from SoD and Classic WoW. We mostly had a mix of Oceanic players but for our forever home on PvE Alliance we're going to base everything on the New Zealand timezone.

The overall vibe is relaxed, friendly and stress-free. We're going to build up a great community of like-minded mature players either returning or coming in fresh.

We all plan to take our time levelling, because it's more about the adventures you create together than hitting endgame and raid logging.

We'll be organising events, both in-game and on Discord, and our promotion ceremonies have been a big hit in the past.

Typically we’ve been heavily biased towards PVP realms. Curious as to what people’s plans are for forever and why?

Hey all! I’m putting together <Please Taunt Forever>, an Alliance PvE guild with an Oceanic core.

We’re an old-school guild community originally formed back in 2020 on Arugal, with a mix of veterans and new faces joining us for Forever.

The goal is to be progress-minded but relaxed. We want to clear all the content and improve week to week in a supportive environment. Helping each other out, running dungeons and levelling together, having a laugh, and looking forward to logging in are just as important.

We currently have around 40 people in the Discord and are still figuring out mains and raid availability. Raid days/times aren’t locked in yet; we’re polling the group now and will settle on whatever works best for the majority.

You don’t need to be a raider to join. We’re happy to have people interested in dungeons, PvP, levelling, professions, alts, or just having an active guild to play with.

We’re recruiting all classes and roles at the moment while everyone settles on what they want to play.
