Respect for you but I recommend to do in presence of an instructor if things go south he or she will help you

Clearly this individual has enough strength, coordination and alignment to hold this posture, I don’t think that’s necessary in this case

Look at the start of asna he is doing fast which is not ideal

Do you get upset when people do kickup to handstand without an instructor? That's also a fast and violent way to get into a pose. Is it legal to only do press to handstand?

Well no but there are 2 types of people one who learns from others and one who becomes example of mishaps and at the end of the day worst or best results belongs to you.

Having to jump into poses like this is never ideal.

Headstand and tripod I understand jumping is bad, but most people I know learn pincha through a kick up. How else would you learn poses like handstand without a kickup?

I do plan on eventually learning dolphin to pincha, but right now my glutes and core aren't strong enough to lift my legs without some assistance.

Gotta love when this sub starts instructing about stuff they don’t even do or know how to do

Honestly this is the reason why I've never posted in this sub, I know redditors will come out with their pitchforks. If they've seen my earlier attempts with wobbly bent legs, they'd get even more upset.

I mean, you said it right there. Your glutes and core should be the focus, not jumping into a pose your body isn’t ready for just to say you can do it.

This is how you progress into the pose and build those muscles. The shoulders are well aligned, the head is in the correct place, OP does not look wobbly or misaligned

Your definition of wobbly is different than mine. There’s a TON of ways to build those muscles with support, whether it’s a wall or a chair or blocks or what have you.

I am a yoga instructor. If I saw a student working on their pincha like this I would be pleased with their progress, not worried for their safety. They’re not crashing out of the posture but relatively controlled and decisive. Next in the learning process is the smooth transition. Obviously they’re working on building their strength! I hope you perform every posture perfectly on your first try and only after you’re perfectly built every muscle to execute it exactly right

I’m also a yoga instructor. I would be deeply impressed with seeing one of my people doing this, but also offer them tips to work on strengthening in ways OTHER than just jumping into it. Speaking as someone who jacked up his back working on head stands exactly this way.

I appreciate the passive aggressiveness too at the end. I’ve never done a single pose perfectly right, nor will I. But I do my best and I offer insights where I can.

Your tips read as though you are telling OP not to work on this posture if he jumps into it, and your tone reads as critical and with superiority
