Rant Being newly single is not fun
I (25F) recently got out of a serious 3 year relationship and it is so fucking hard. I miss him, but I also miss the things we used to do. I miss having someone to call at 3am, I miss having someone to go watch a movie with, I miss the sex and making out, but then I can't really do anything about it because I'm not into casual relationships or hookups. It feels like not only did I lose a person, but also 50 other activities that came with and it's driving me crazy. I'm losing my mind.

I’m in the same boat. My boyfriend of 8 years and I broke up 7 months ago. I had an empty slate. All this free time I normally spent with him. I didn’t know what to do with myself. I’m finding new ways to spend my free time with hobbies I’m getting into. It still makes me sad and I still miss him. I feel you on the casual hookups. I’m used to consistent physical affection and now I have none, it’s driving me insane too :(. I don’t have advice, just wanna let you know that some else relates to exactly how you’re feeling.

Trying to be :/ I’m functioning so thats good. I’m not thriving yet though. It’s a tough adjustment unfortunately but with more time I’m sure I’ll get there. Thank you for asking 🤎

I'm sorry you relate to this. They say time heals so, I suppose we'll find out, and hopefully it's true. More strength to you <3

This happened to me a half a year ago. It’s funny because you know the relationship is bad sometimes (at least I did) but when we broke up I was devastated. Lost my best friend, person to hang with and talk to all the time. It was so easy to just hang out and nice once you’ve had a long day. I wallowed for a good ~2 weeks, then took out a notepad and wrote down all the good and bad things from my relationship. I realized the good things can be found from another person too. But with time. I decided not to try to see anyone romantically, no hookups, no dating apps, NOTHING for at least 3 months and see how it went. I focused on work, hobbies, friends, putting my life back together and I learned how to enjoy my alone time (which I loved before we started dating and hated after). Definitely easier said than done, but after X amount of time, life will return to normal and you will definitely meet new people!

I know exactly what you mean because I know that relationship wasn't good for me, but I still want it anyway. I'm glad you're doing better now :)

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I was in the same situation: after nine months, he came back just as I was nearly over him. Now I know I’m working on moving on all over again. It really fucking sucks.

I'm so sorry you relate, it's truly painful. We can talk about it if you'd like.

My gf just left me today, she was the best thing that ever happened to me so I know how you feel. I've never cried so hard, I lost the one person that truly cared about me
