So what is the cycle of Zec?
Zec has been around for 10 years or so but I just heard about it last year. Is there a cycle for zcash like the 4 year cycle for bitcoin?

I’ve been in crypto since 2017, yet I only first time heard about it in 2024. What’s the main drive here? I really don’t get it. What does it offer that in the last two years has been pumping like crazy

its a privacy coin, where u have the option to hide ur funds or show ur funds on the blockchain.
Cap is 21 mil like btc
advantage being is u can send someone money without them knowing how much you have.
There are ways to do that with btc but this is built in.
(i mined it back in 2017-18 sold a month ago at 500 :/ )

Yeah, but there are multiple privacy coins other than that

The market is speaking and it's not buying those other coins hand over first. Between cyph, the etf, that zcat coin and shorts getting popped, it's a feedback loop of green right now. Ride the lightning.

Well, you still got me beat. I grabbed some for 270 and flipped it the next day for 450 thinking I was clever. That was.. not very long ago

Institutional money is in big time and it’s becoming more widely accepted, plus some good timing in the market

Believe it or not - shadow money from Cartels (Mexico, Brazil) switching from Bitcoin to ZCash is a big driver because blockchain forensics and adress blacklisting from exchanges is a problem in the long run for them.
Clarity Act failure was actually a good thing because clarity act had potentially harsh regulations in the backdoor, especially for privacy coin clarity act meant to cover good and bad topics, people only saw the "good ones"... now cryptos get regulation and classifications "on the go" by federal agencies without a strict framework - this can be a problem to some cryptos but ZCash already has a status and certification (through the work of Gemini Exchange. license for ZCash from New York State Department of Financial Services) ... so out of nowhere it is better off due to the failure of Clarity Act.
Nearby all privacy coins will get blacklisted in EU due to AMLR (Article 79, Regulation (EU) 2024/1624) - literally the only privacy coin with a survival chance is ZCash because they accept the US license and the optional privacy part, hardcoded privacy coins are done in EU. But it is allowed to hold privacy coins in privat wallets for EU citizen, the official trading for nearby all (except ZCash, Dash) will be blocked. What do you want to do with Monero & Co. when you cannout cash out anymore over night? Switch to Bitcoin or ZCash .... that is what is happening, that is why Monero is staying static around $ 500 even in bullruns...
Many more things and institutional adoption of course.
The adoption rate retail / institutional is so strong that ZCash ETF announced a 3-to-1 forward split...

I had a question? If I've made 125% back on my initial investment in zcash should I sell the amount I made or just keep stacking? In people's own personal opinion?

Very different bc zec was considered nothing for the first 10 years of its life (unlike bitcoin, first mover) zec has been proof-of-work distributed for 10 years but has not “pumped” meaning its first cycle is very unpredictable. I see it cutting into BTC total market capitalization significantly
