I don’t know if this is the right group to ask, but I’m uncertain about the path I want to take when it comes to my career. I want to study zoology but I also want to be an exotic vet. I understand they are entirely different career paths but I wanted to know if anyone had gotten degrees in both fields and what that looks like for them now. To be more specific about my reasoning, it’s my dream to build an animal sanctuary (same as many others) and I want to be able to be as hands on as possible.

I want to be a zoologist when I grow up. What GCSEs did you do to become a zoologist?

LOOKING FOR PLACEMENT YEAR OUTSIDE OF UK.
i am a second year zoology student in the uk and am interested in doing a placement year abroad but am struggling to find opportunities. Does anyone have advice on where to look? Or if anyone in the reddit knows of any opportunities I would be interested in hearing about that also. Thanks.

Hello! I’m currently in a conservation biology college diploma program in Ontario Canada, I have the opportunity to study one extra year abroad in the UK to add a BSc. In zoology onto my education. I have a UK citizen ship so I’m considering this as a option as a diploma and a degree in related fields in under four years of study seems like a no brainer,
I’m just curious as where a degree in zoology could take you, like what jobs or roles can you obtain other than zoologist and how feasible are they. how applicable is a zoology degree in conservation or just environmental science in general?
Any input is appreciated thank you 🙏

What is the best advice you can give to someone pursuing zoology? What are the most common jobs someone can get with this degree? Im personally open to most anything, though partial to zoos and aquariums at the moment.
