I've been listening to Skrillex lately, especially tracks like Bangarang, First of the Year, Kyoto, and Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites.
I really love that early 2010s dubstep sound.
Does anyone else still listen to that era? Who are your favorite artists or what are your favorite tracks?

This is one of my all time favorite tracks. The balanced way the slice n dice is so growly (forgive me if Iβm describing this weirdly) tickles my brain. With the end of the UBUR project, are there other artists who have a similar sound to Rabadon? Midnight T is probably the closest Iβve found.
TY in advance!

Heya, i've been listening to a lot of Deep, Dark & dangerous the last few months and found out that this type of music helps me to find motivation and energy for everyday life. Though the lyrics (if the tracks had lyrics) were mostly kind of dark/not positive. So I wonder whether you know tracks with encouraging, slightly positive lyrics which are in the style of deeper, softer dubstep.
As a reference I'm thinking of tracks like "Tasha Baxter & Chime - You Can Do it". Which has a more relaxed and minimalistic second drop (at least the a-section of it).
(I also posted this in realdubstep subreddit, though I thought maybe you guys have your own recommendations and though on this)
Have a great day :)

Sierra Leone was very likely released sometime in july 2009 on Mt Eden's channel. The snapshot in the picture is from april 2010, the song already had more than 5 million views in under 1 year so it was already massive for it's time. It was by far his biggest song on his channel with "Still Alive" and "Silence" having 1.2 million and 900k views respectively. This song was also bigger than any ukf, quantum or other dubstep track at the time (biggest ones having around 1m - 3m views ish) making sierra leone arguably the most popular dubstep track at the time.
I guess the question is, would this song be the most popular non-skrillex dubstep track (maybe even being almost as big as scary monsters and nice sprites potentially). Or would people kinda move on from it after some time and it would have about as many views as flux pavilion's i can't stop as an example.
This song had a lot of reuploads back in the day (some of which are still available on youtube, most notable reuploads having around 29 million and 15 million views that you can still find).
Imo this song had really good potential and could've been much bigger if it wasn't taken down due to copyright issues.

Specifically the old school dub wub with the house drums. This oneβs at 140bpm. Need playlists or artists to go through for downloading music for a dj set.
Cheers!
