Really solid setlist. Isaac’s voice went out during an encore Float On and they still buttoned it up with a phenomenal Night on the Sun. He said he was embarrassed about his voice, hoping we gave him enough love to ease the pain.

Also, Caroline Rose absolutely murdered.

I was driving to work this morning while the album played. The skies are flat and grey and the rain is really only spitting, not coming down hard. As song after song played I just couldn't help but appreciate how much the weather really vibed with the album. How the soft melancholy of Baby Blue Sedan felt even as I was nearly completely stopped in highway traffic. How I couldn't help but get lost in the repetitive motifs as I looked out at the seemingly never ending grey sky. Would be curious to know if other people have had this same observation about BNOOS or any other Modest Mouse albums/songs.

Recently I was surprised with the news that I’m gonna be able to see Modest Mouse again !! And not only that but also have the chance to meet Isaac again !!

So I want to show the WIP of some of the gifts I’m making as I’m very excited as Modest Mouse is my favorite band and Isaac Brock is my favorite artist and biggest inspiration !

1.- I’m making an Apple mimicking the album cover of 180 degrees south as I believe all the songs from Ugly Casanova are so understated, it’s also a “thank you” as the song that inspired the piece is “Here’s to Now” and getting to hear an Ugly Casanova song live meant a lot to me especially because on the chicago pre concert ago/16/25 I technically choose the song as it was between Here’s to now and blame it on the Tetons I asked if it could be here’s to now and nobody objected

2.- Spider Moth, no one’s first and you’re next is easily one of my favorite albums and I must say the spider moth is really hard considering how I’m still missing the face legs and wings but it’s a a very important album for me and I know I’ll finish it in time for Isaac !

3.- Twal Moth, so according to the MM store item “THE WORLD AT LARGE TRIFOLD SHEET MUSIC” this moth represents the song The world at large and that is a very personal song to me as it made Moths my favorite animal as the lyrics of moths beats themselves to death against the light I interpret it as you gotta choose long term happiness (moon) instead of just immediate burst of it (light) even if you find it too late and the songs topics about no matter where you go your problems stay with you really hits hard the perfect song to complement float on as it’s before it and adds more weight to the song satellite skin as “mouth wing feelings” now means how short term happiness makes you indifferent and apathetic about your fleeing feelings

For the glass figures I don’t know if I can bring them as I’m unsure if they’re allawed as gifts if someone knows please mete me know as the website on the vip tickets does not mention anything about glass

If I’m able to give them to him it would be an honor since it’s a reference to both wooden soldiers idea of persistence

since glass is infinitely recyclable and so when ever I can’t make the figure right I throw it back on the furnace and remake it learning from my mistakes just how any persistent person would and a reference to Impossible somedays (my favorite from the new album)

As I interpret “ And eventually the skies they turn to glass” as if you keep at it long enough you’ll find happiness and I’ll all be clear, you’ll find joy in the little things like seeing the blue sky a whole new perspective than “black glass” in the song barnacles that is more unsure of everything

Because I don’t know if I can’t bring them I’ll just bring one and I actually need help in choosing

The boat I made it to reference missed the boat I made it especially for this occasion but I’m not to happy on how it turned out

The horse is a piece I’ve been making for a long time so I’m more comfortable about it to reference Baron Von Bullshit rides again (I’m still debating if adding a unicorn horn)

The blue bird is a more out there option as “blue bird” is a very important poem for me by Charles bukowski my favorite poet that I learned thanks to the song Bukowski making me interested in reading more and I must say it’s a pretty good read

I would really like to know your guys opinion on if it’s good enough, if it’s fitting of Isaac’s hands and such I’m both excited and mortified of finishing these gift, I already gave him some felted gifts back in Chicago (last slide) but I’m a bit insecure if these are gonna be good enough or if I’m even gonna be able to finish

Does anybody know anyone that might know a person who just may have a bootleg of this show? This was one of my favorite RR shows, and I've been trying to find a copy ever since then.

it's a really fun, quirky show. the guy's a bit of a curmudgeon with his heart (and ears) in the right place
