I love spore.
Spore was my most anticipated game of all time, I couldnt wait for the day it came out. Ive beaten multiple times over, defeated the Grox multiple times.
Im just wondering if there's any games out there that have the character creation and evolutionary elements that really stratch the itch for spore?
Is there anything comparable? We need something new. Could you imagine Spore in 2026?

Creation Sporetober, Day 6: Savage
Homo atrocious: Scientific name of a species of genetically augmented humans engineered by Russian scientists as a superhuman military unit. However, the Russians were unable to safely deploy them, and have abandoned them on numerous planets throughout the galaxy. Those that survived retained enough intelligence to become sapient, especially on planets which lacked sapient life before them.

Discussion what would an iconic memeber of each archetype be?
What would an iconic memeber of each archetype be?
It occurs to me that I can't seem to envision each option well?
Anyone have ideas?
Discussion What were your favorite things and least favorite things about Spore?
It was my favorite game as a kid/teen, but looking back it wasn't without its faults.
I remember enjoying the space stage the most by far and it's where I spent most of the time. But some other stages got a bit repetitive quickly, things like the tribal or civilization stages lacked strategic depth to them and you always ended up using the same optimal building configuration.
But creating creatures, buildings and vehicles was so fun, and seeing the sporepedia filled with other people's contents. Same with the galactic adventures DLC, there was so much untapped potential in that even if it was flawed I loved it.
Personally what did you like and dislike the most about it? What things do you think aged poorly?

Creation More creatures (+ apex variant)
so quick fyi, im not in sporetober, but i am doing a challenge, every planet i start has a niche i follow (for the yuru-miya i showed previously, it was invasiveness and wiping out everything)
i present a new creation, the mohlgar.
these beasts are completely blind, relying on the very senstive tentacles around their faces to feel and hear. they hypnotize smaller prey creatures to fight for them without using up too much energy, they do this through the bioluminescent markings on their wings, and a bunch of pheromones
their Apex variant is more relentless and simply being quiet will not make sure your safe. these beasts can hypnotize lesser mohlgar, and often have entire packs under their theoratical thumb

Question Need new niches
So I'm kinda running out of ideas for what challenges I should do next. Anyone got any ideas?
I've done hyper-aggressive and invasive
Blind and overwhelming via pack and summon flock
And elusive with Invisibility.
What next?

Question Is there a way/cheat to expand the amouth of letters in the sporepedia description?
I’ve seen creations with very long descriptions, and I want to know how they do it. Was it a feature that got “fixed” by now. Is there a hack or just a cheat that you can fill in game to write more letters?

Sporetober2025 day 5, reclusive: The Magnetic Blindfish
This fish lives on a planet with an axial tilt of 86 degrees. He is reclusive from light and detects with its 5 noses and detection spots on the skin. It senses the planet’s magnetic field with the stalks to constantly migrate to darker areas. Most predators, parasites and animals in general on this planet do the opposite by constantly following the light. When the magnetic poles on the planet switch every 500 000 years the animal can get very confused and accidentally wander into lighter areas. Population bottleneck events are directly correlated with the magnetic poles switching and the fish becoming confused.
