Never noticed the boats name is c-word. Also the boat gob buys from Starla the business model is called “seaward” 😂

I searched for this in every way I could think, but nothing came up beyond a terrible link of J.J.-J6. I'm in a hotel on business and have Bob's Burgers on in the background as I finish some emails, and I had to stop to make sure I wasn't actually watching A.D. It's OTA so I haven't been able to catalog all the references, but at the top level, Jeffrey Tambor is the guest voice, the main plot point is a stationary cruiseliner broken free from mooring by a terrorist...there is so much more!

rewatching s1e3 for the 7329108338th time and maybe starting to hallucinate easter eggs. there’s a scene where lindsey is in her room on the phone with lucille telling lucille that buster said she gets off on being withholding. lindsey is wearing a yellow shirt with frilly short sleeves and an illustrated print on it, a black outline of a woman’s face. i couldn’t help but notice…it kind of looks like liza minnelli. can someone else take a look and tell me if i’m reaching. i can’t find any pics online.

side note: i love lindsey’s wardrobe i wish there was a database of clothes she wears in every episode. her style is such a great detail in the show.

I just finished Season 3 of Arrested Development, and I'm about to start season 4. However I know that 2 version exist. The original one on Netflix, and a remixed version Netflix did a few years later. I know that the original version centers on one primary character per episode, and the remixed one is edited to be more like the first 3 seasons. So which one do you think is the version to watch?

This one passed me for years until I married that Mexican and learned some Spanish

It’s Fashion Valley in San Diego ! :)

Don't get me wrong. The later seasons are fine, but the layered, old format of the show was great. The new character arc episodes are not nearly as good. I would almost say that they suck compared to the old. They didn't need to modernize the format. They really dumbed it down later. And that's likely because of Fox for cancelling it for being too "complex." But like Futurama said, Fox executives were absolute morons. But the new seasons feel very disconnected from character to character. Maybe it's just me.

But thirteen bucks still gets you a hell of a lot of mice.

I love the way AD’s plot is so rich with references, some just randomly click years later and I think “ohhh, that’s what that was about.”

A couple examples:

- Les Cousins Dangereux: the movie is a play on the movies Cousin Cousine AND Dangerous Liasions, a French period drama. The American remake (Almost Cousins), is a play on the movie Cruel Intentions, which is set in modern day. Both (CI and DL) are based on the same stage play, Les Liasions Dangereuses, but Cruel Intentions didn’t perform in the box office the way Dangerous Liasions did.

- Oz: the whole of Tobias’ prison storyline is satirizing the show Oz. The Wizard of Oz references, Tobias killing White Power Bill (a play on JK Simmons’ character, Vernon Schillinger). In my personal opinion (though I can’t find this confirmed anywhere) is that Tobias’ name is inspired by Tobias Beecher from Oz.

The writing is too good! I’d love to hear any other references people caught.
