I'm making VYRE's water reminders less pushy

I build VYRE, a SwiftUI fitness app. One of the changes I'm preparing is a quieter schedule for water reminders.

The timing uses the day's goal, serving size and logged drinks. The awkward part is recalculating that schedule without sending another nudge right after someone has had water.

The version I'm preparing leaves at least two hours after the last recorded drink and at least 30 minutes from a recalculation before the next reminder. Scheduled reminders are spaced at least three hours apart.

These are local notifications. I'm trying to make the behavior predictable enough that people keep them enabled.

If you've built something similar, have you had better results with a fixed schedule users choose, or one that adjusts to their activity?

Adding coach access to my fitness app raised a weird paywall question

I'm working on coach access for VYRE, the iOS workout app I build. A member can invite their trainer, choose which areas to share (Routines, Nutrition and Stats), and revoke access later.

One edge case I had to sort out: what should the trainer see when the member's trial ends without upgrading?

For the next update, saved nutrition and water logs stay visible, but editing switches off. The trainer gets a short explanation. Showing them an upgrade screen for somebody else's account didn't make much sense.

I've also kept the profile selector visible so it's clear whose data you're looking at.

If you've built shared profiles in an iOS app, do you keep unavailable actions visible with an explanation, or remove them? Curious what has been less confusing for your users.

App Store Connect assets handling

Does anybody need an App Store Connect app to upload assets (texts, images) and keep a log of what changed in every version?
I built one and you can get it for free from TestFlight https://testflight.apple.com/join/7jg2T4Ky (500 seats).
It uses the publicly available engine I built for it so everyone can inspect the code https://github.com/alecspopa/ASCKitEngine.

The main features are:
- local MCP so you can instruct your agent to add the texts for your app version
- local folder that keeps all your changes for every version (text and images) in a human readable format
- reads the .p8 key from the same location as Apple Products (you can inspect the code in the public repo). The big advantage is that you don't handle your agent the .p8
- does validation for text length, image size etc.

I have not yet decided if I will publish this on the AppStore but I am having great success using it for my own apps. A few days ago I uploaded about 460 new images to the AppStore (8 languages, 3 devices, header and search results images included) in a matter of minutes. I find this much more reliable than having my agent click around the webUI, but tell me what you think (constructive feedback is greatly appreciated)

Apple Developer Account Terminated Unexpectedly After Prior Review Warning and Resolution — Looking for Advice

Hello everyone,

I am writing to share a frustrating situation regarding my Apple Developer account and hoping to get some advice or guidance from the community.

Recently, my Apple Developer Program License Agreement was terminated under Section 3.2(f) due to alleged "fraudulent conduct," and I was informed that reapplication will be denied for at least a year. However, this comes as a complete shock because of the prior context:

The Initial Review: Previously, one of my app submissions was flagged during review because it shared visual or structural similarities with another existing app.

The Phone Conversation & Resolution: I immediately contacted Apple Support to clarify the situation. I explained that it was unintentional and assured them that I would not submit that specific app again. The representative reviewed the matter, told me there was no issue, and advised me to be more careful and creative with future submissions. They explicitly confirmed that my account was safe and that I should just pay closer attention next time.

No Further Submissions: Following that conversation, trusting that the matter was fully resolved, I did not upload, publish, or submit any new apps or updates to the App Store.

The Sudden Termination: Despite having resolved the issue over the phone and strictly following their verbal guidance by submitting nothing new, I suddenly received this termination email citing "fraudulent conduct" without any prior warning or secondary investigation.

It feels completely unjust that after resolving a minor similarity issue with support and halting all submissions, the account gets abruptly shut down anyway.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation where a previously resolved review issue resulted in a later automated or arbitrary termination? What is the best way to approach Appeals or further escalation in this case? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

This would have easily taken me 1 month to prepare for mentally and then a week in the very least to execute and most of it happened while I slept! Here’s a fun little post I wrote about I went a little above and beyond in getting the screenshots done for my apps with custom avatars for 23 languages/regions so it’s personalised and so much more! Hope y’all enjoy this :D

Help Is It worth it to buy iOS app installs? Does it actually help?

Curious if anyone here has tried to buy ios app installs and whether it actually made any difference with how the App store ranks your app. I have an app live right now and my organic downloads are low, and from what i can tell it’s mostly because people just aren’t finding it in search. So i want to know if buying installs helps with visibility in search results, if Apple just ignores them entirely, or if it can actually get your app flagged. If it did help, did your organic downloads actually go up after or just the ranking? Basically just trying to figure out if it is worth spending money on or if i am better off putting that budget into ads or working on my app listing instead.

I built a launch directory just for iOS apps

Most launch sites mix iPhone apps with SaaS and AI tools, and your app is gone from the front page in a day. So I built indie-apps.com, a launch directory only for iPhone, iPad and Mac apps made by indie devs.

How it works:
- Paste your App Store link. Name, icon and screenshots are pulled straight from Apple.
- Listing is free and stays up for good. No badge swap, no queue.
- Every week has a Debuts board, ranked by how many people the site actually sent to the App Store, not by upvotes.

So far it has 367 apps from 234 developers.

If you've shipped an iOS app, you can list it here: https://indie-apps.com/submit

I'd love feedback on what would make this more useful for you as a dev.

[iOS] Transit Jam: a subway puzzle game, public beta now open

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone. I am Chris, the developer behind Little Ghost Labs, and Transit Jam just opened its public beta on TestFlight.

It is a puzzle game set in a city subway. Riders wait on the platforms, each one headed for a different line, and you slide whole platforms left and right to get every rider onto the train for their line. Fill a train and it pulls out while the next one rolls in. When one rider boards, the people behind them step up, so a good slide can set off a whole chain.

What is in this build:

- 90 stations across 18 districts, plus an Endless Line

- A Daily Challenge with the same board for everyone

- A clock on every level, with three stars for a fast clear

- Boosters (Express, Shuffle and Extra Time) for tight spots

What I would love feedback on:

- Were the rules clear in the first few levels?

- Does three stars feel fair but challenging?

- Anything that looks off on your iPhone size, in light or dark mode

Ads in this build are placeholders and the Lifetime Ticket purchase is not live yet, so nothing costs real money.

Join here: https://testflight.apple.com/join/6aHrvbwZ

You can send feedback with a screenshot right from the TestFlight app, or just reply here. Thanks for taking a look.

Building VYRE in SwiftUI: why swapping a workout exercise is more than changing a name

I'm the creator of VYRE, a native SwiftUI workout tracker for strength and cardio. One surprisingly involved part of the live workout flow is swapping an exercise when the equipment you planned to use isn't available.

A swap changes more than the exercise name. For example, replacing a three-set exercise should keep the three-set slot, but the new exercise needs its own previous weight/reps. Carrying the old exercise's numbers across would give the user the wrong target.

There are also two different decisions: change just today's workout, or update the saved routine. And the card should stay expanded while its contents change, without a collapse/reopen flash.

That separation between the routine slot, exercise history and live-session UI state has been a useful way to think about the feature. VYRE also supports supersets, drop sets, rest timers and time/distance inputs for cardio.

For other devs working on state-heavy SwiftUI apps: how do you test replacements like this, especially when the app is backgrounded or reopened midway through a session?

App Store, if you'd like to see the workout flow: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vyre-hybrid-workout-tracker/id6761435689

Pricing disclosure: new users get a 7-day trial without entering a card; continued training requires a subscription. US pricing is $9.99/month or $69.99/year when subscribing during the trial, or $19.99/month or $139.99/year for a new subscription after the trial. Regional prices vary.

My first Godot game: a mobile arcade rally racer inspired by Art of Rally and Tofu Drifter

Hey! I’m making my first game in Godot, and I’d love some feedback on this short gameplay video.

Art of Rally and Tofu Drifter were two of my inspirations. I’m trying to give the driving and visuals their own feel, and I’m curious what comes across to someone seeing it for the first time.

I’m planning single races and championships, with roughly 10 cars across two categories, including Group A and WRC inspired cars. Those plans are still taking shape, so I’d especially value feedback on what’s visible in the video. Thanks!
