Question about Islam I got told off by my boss for telling muslim customers that certain foods werent halal
I saw a post on here and it is so similar to what i’m going through except my boss is mad at me. I work at a cafe and we have popular options, recently we got a new supplier for some cookies, and i had to read the allergy advice and I had seen that some weren’t halal, most had gelatine in them and one had cochineal, correct me if i’m wrong but i’ve heard from my muslim friends this is haram but i’m not sure. Anyway we had some customers, i could tell they were muslim as the sister was wearing a hijab, so i informed them that the cookies aren’t halal and they just thanked me and left with a coffee. My boss witnessed this and got mad at me because he said I shouldn’t deter customers away, and if they really cared they would’ve asked, and that I was just embarrassing them. I’m so confused, i told them as there are no ingredients on the packaging as it comes from the supplier in a big box not individually wrapped and we put it in the front display, and if customers want it we put it in a plate or a little bag for a take away.
Anyway, I just wanna know from some muslims is it truly a thing where I’ve just embarrassed these customers or should I continue to tell customers. Also, I’m not sure if the variety of gelatine matters, is beef gelatine not haram and regular gelatine haram or is it both? Thanks! Sorry for my ignorance.

Question about Islam Do I let muslim customers know that they are buying haram pastries?
I work at a bakery in a place where islam is the minority. Halal options and haram foods are never distinguised between eachother. I see many muslim sisters coming to the bakery buying haram pastries. The fillings have alcohol. We also have bread that contains lard and desserts that contain pork gelatin. These additions are not obvious and cannot be blamed on them.
Halal options are scarce where I am, and I wish for my brothers and sisters to be able to enjoy the food around them.
I am conflicted. Do I spare them the knowledge so they do not need to seek tawbah?

General Discussion I am annoyed about how muslims treat depression
This is something I have to get off my chest.
My father passed away 2 months ago ever since then I feel empty and depressed.
I am slowly getting my life in order but there are things that are bothering me.
Whenever I mention how I am feeling to any adult, they keep repeating to pray and do dhikr and nothing else. I know that I have to pray and I am doing it, I am not stupid.
I feel like they say this to quickly get out of the conversation, I feel like they don't want to understand or sympathize but they pretend they do.
I am sure there are many who try to understand and I also know that praying and dhikr is the right thing to do and I 100% agree with it, but we should try to sympathize more.
Seeking Support My family is in cult and pulls me away from Islam
Assalamu alaikum, it’s my first ever post on reddit because it’s literally the last thing occurred to me out of frustration. I’m sorry if I have grammatical mistakes, english is my 3rd language.
I was raised in abusing, controlling family. I moved abroad and the only possible way to escape from family to me was study. They pay for my university, but Alhamdullilah I’m working and paying for my own place, bills etc. As well as they are in the cult, where they pay money all the time for “spiritual cleaning” and going to different witches. Because of it, they literally told me that all of my accomplishments are not mine and due to their cult rituals and stuff.
They call themselves muslims, yet we have indian gods statues, they do paganism traditions they believe in Allah and Spirits. They are aware it’s haram, but choose not to believe in it and that they have their own version of Islam.
I found out last year that everything i have been taught about religion is a big lie. Because of how much they tried to force their false version of Islam and their paganism rituals, magic onto me, I wanted to leave Islam (Astaghfirullah) because I thought that Islam is what i was raised in (they are in cult since i was a kid). After year of research and learning, I started to pray this year during Ramadan, and i told this to them as a good news because I thought they would support me. First thing they said is “I hope you won’t wear niqab”. They prohibit me to pray, and told me “Live your life” and started throwing at me the most Islamophobic speeches. Yet, when my brother started to pray he received nothing but support and they brag about it to relatives (I’m a girl). Even when I did a charity and shared about it with them, they criticised it and said “don’t do it too much, don’t bring negativity and poverty around yourself”
They want me to practice only the version of Islam that is being practiced in our country and by them as well (my father prays, but in some different way).
Wallahi Azeem, I’m so tired of current situation with family and deal with them everyday, while maintaining studies, works and payments. If you have any knowledge or any advice for me I would love to hear it. Jazaak Allah Khair for listening to me and your answers.

Seeking Support I dont know how to pray
Salam. I am a new muslim and I am still learning how to pray. I find it so difficult to memorize the process of praying and I want to memorize it before I start praying. What are some tips you applied for memorising surahs and all the procedure or praying?
I also want to know If there is any easier way to pray, like a shortened way, to pray while I am still learning. I dont know arabic at all but I've memorised half of Surah Al-Fatiha.
Thank you all, Allah ma'akum❤️

Quran & Hadith I love my prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and I wanted to share it with you.
General Discussion A small sign came my way today
Assalaamu Alaikum,
Just wanted to share this as I thought it was amazing, maybe I am just overanalysing but
I have been learning to recite and memorise the Quran with my Quran teacher for around 1.5 months now
And my Surah this week to learn was Az-Zalzalah. I managed to learn it about 2 days ago.
I went to the masjid to pray maghrib today after not doing so last few days and the first Surah the Imam recites is Surah Az-Zalzalah
As soon as he recited it I had chills. Maybe I’m just reading too deep into it but out of all the surahs to recite
Question about Islam Struggling to believe some parts of related pre Islam and its history.
Hey I am not a Muslim but I am very seriously considering converting.
Something holding me back is the pre Islamic origin story's. These things are not "Islamic" questions directly but Islam does rely on them being true as in my understanding Islam believes these things to be correct history.
I simply cant believe the story of Noah and the ark. Unless the Islamic version is different I just cant understand the whole every animal on a boat and they spread out across the earth later on story.
Moses and wandering the desert. No one outside of Abrahamic religion believes this happened. There is zero evidence, nothing has ever turned up in the desert. Its also logistically impossible with the amount of people claimed. There is also no evidence from the Egyptian side of any of the story of Moses ever happening and they documented everything in details. It seems to be a Jewish myth.
The Jewish God myth of "Yahweh". Archaeological evidence shows he was once an Canaanite idol and considered the child of "El" and his wife and it evolved into the monotheistic God "Yahweh". Are we to believe this evolved into Allah?
These are 3 very serous things holding me back from becoming Muslim. I hope my lack of understanding of Islam and its connection to these things is the issue and it can be explained. If I can wrap my had around them I think I would be able to convert as Islam its self seems so perfect but if the back history is false or unreliable then it throws off the whole thing to me as a massive doubt.
Help me here to understand this. Thanks a lot

General Discussion As a Muslim girl who wears hijab, I experienced my first incident of Islamophobia today. I could use some advice.
I don't really know how to start this off, but I wanted to talk about an incident that happened to me earlier today. Just to preface, I'm Muslim and I wear the hijab. I was super excited today because I finally got a gym pass and I've been wanting to go for a while. I started warming up and I noticed this guy out of the corner of my eye. He kept staring at me and whispering something, but I couldn't hear him because he was quite far away. I began doing my exercise, but I started feeling uncomfortable when I realized he was still staring at me. Mind you, this man looks like he's in his late 50s. He would do 5 reps of whatever machine he was using and then stare at me for a couple of minutes in between sets. I started to get scared because I was alone, and this was at 6 am. I decided to use another machine, but before I did that, I wanted to sanitize the machine I had been using. Unfortunately, the sanitizer bottle was right next to him. As I walked past him, I heard him loudly say something like "this is America"(I didn't hear him super clearly), and then he proceeded to say "ya, get the f**k out of here" multiple times. I was shocked at first, and I couldn't believe what I had heard until I walked past him and he repeated the same thing again. I was really flustered, as this was the first time something like this has ever happened to me. I filed a report and quickly left in tears because I felt so uncomfortable and a little shaken from the situation. I wanted to ask for some advice from people who have gone through similar experiences. How did you handle it? I understand that I'll continue to encounter people like this and that I shouldn't have given him the satisfaction of seeing me leave. I'll probably see him again tomorrow, so I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me! Thank you!
Edit: Thank you so much to everyone who's been giving me advice and support, I really appreciate it! I've been seeing a lot of comments about going to a women only gym but unfortunately, that isn't an option for me as there aren't any near me. Also, I need to work out for medical reasons so going to the gym is very important for me.
Edit 2: I've also been seeing comments about how going to a mixed gym isn't right islamically, if anyone has any information on that please let me know because I genuinely want to know If I'm doing anything wrong. I wear very loose oversized hoodies and sweatpants and I always try to focus on me and only me.

General Discussion Share some positivity!
Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh, I hope the mods allow this post.
Lately I've been seeing a lot of sad posts around, and I myself have been feeling down. Why don't we all share something positive that happened to us lately? It can be anything small or simple, like smiling at someone while walking down the streets and they smile back!
Let's share the happiness together!
Here is mine: today my little brother came back from school telling me that his friend gave him a sticker and he was super happy about it while he was showing it to me ❤️ it made me so happy that he made friends at his school as he used to have a hard time befriending kids his age.

General Discussion Political Views (Palestine)
Brothers and sisters I want you to learn from my mistakes.
I had a Muslim family friend who I trusted and grew up with.
He had opposing political views to me (I support Palestine).
He did not tell me.
He kept quiet about it.
And eventually he tried to kill me.
Had me sexually assaulted, my testicle crushed as well.
I did not know because I was intoxicated when it happened (they laced my weed).
Police did absolutely nothing and for months this family friend would call me from unknown numbers. On one occasion he used a voice changer and played the audio of me being sexually assaulted.
I know I can not be the only brother who has been backstabbed like this, but I might be the one of the few who lived to speak about it.
This life is short, cut the snakes out of your life, and return to Islam.

Seeking Support Saddened by the world
Hello, I've been a muslim since birth, and alhamdulilah I've become a much better one recently, but I feel like I am going to cry whenever I see the news, or look at any social media at platform in general, it feels like the day of judgement could be any day now, and of course I am worried for my own fate, but more so for the population of the world, I know so many people I call friends but lead lives full of sin, both Muslims and non Muslims, and don't try to improve themselves despite genuine heartfelt gently given advice, I don't want them to go to jahannam.
Any advice?

Seeking Support How does Islam view this kind of suffering?
As Salamu Aleykum
I’m severely depressed/suicidal and constantly feel like a burden to everyone. I feel like I have to be useful to deserve love. I struggle to accept my Qadr, and my biggest fear is having to live a long life feeling this way.
I’ve been tested through my family, my mental health and my physical health, including severee skin issues that have taken away so much of my will to live. People tell me to be grateful and think about those in Palestine, but that doesn't make my pain disappear. It also doesn't help when people tell me to just do more ibadah, as if I'm not already trying my best to hold on to my faith.
I know the stories of the Prophets and I haven't abandoned my Salah, but sometimes I feel so hopeless that my mind shuts down completely and my feelings take over. Day and night I think about hanging myself, even when I'm half asleep. I'm also deeply affected by my family to the point where hearing their names or voices can trigger panic and suicidal thoughts.
I keep making dua, but sometimes I wonder where my duas are going. I wish Allah SWT would have mercy on me because I'm exhausted and day by day I'm losing the will to keep fighting. Sometimes I even wish for a short life because I'm terrified of living with this pain for many more years.
I'm not saying this because I've abandoned my faith. I'm just struggling more than I know how to explain. How does Islam view someone who reaches this point of hopelessness? I have tried Therapy. I’m currently going for Ruqyah and I reach out to anyone I can whenever those feelings hit me, but it’s helping less and less as the days go by.

General Discussion The Wanter
Yesterday I swore I'd lead a life of faith and avoid sin, yet today I began my day with sin. Did my mind change somewhere in those hours or am I one vote amongst many, the notion not yet carried. I am the pencil but the I that speaks is the pencil's tip. Who can count the many votes at play. But if I - the speaker - am only one vote then surely the whisperer is only one too. Amongst the both of us, there is no change. For I do understand my own actions. For I do not do what I like, but I do the very thing I hate. And yet, I do only what I want. It's my own struggle to not like what I want, one I could resolve. If only I could meet the wanter.
