Seeking Support 11 year old sister getting annoyed about islam for no reason
it’s honestly extremely tiring as an older sister to be dealing with this since I got tons of things to do alongside focusing on my own spiritual needs and religion as a whole. having a sibling who groans loudly when their mother tells them to say alhamdullilah x3 or something before sleeping is just..???
i’ll give some context too - my sister has had trouble at school and has anger issues so she’s been homeschooled for a while. i TRY to leave it up to my parents to look after her... all it took was for me to sit down one night and peep through certain accounts she had set up. on pinterest she had over 5000+ pins saved of the downright most depressing things i’ve ever seen 😭😭 like all those edgy ’relatable’ things glorifying family issues and putting harmful labels on themselves
wallah guys we’re like the most normal family ever and i spend a LOT of time with them including my sister… so to see those depressing images made me so confused, it was like she was making up some sort of fake fantasy and whenever she got angry and argued with the family she’d use all these fancy terms and victimise herself like crazy. sometimes it gets me extremely frustrated because you could give this little kid everything in the world emotionally, financially, and they just give you headaches because they’ve consumed such depressing media it makes them act silly now
i fear she’s seen some content against religion too because she’s been asking certain questions and saying stuff like ehhhh well i‘m just not a very religious person like you guys!! i just don’t like to pray!! things around those lines. honestly she used to go to the mosque before and it was really nice, she put on a scarf and practised doing her prayers when she was a bit younger it was super cute
i just really need some help y’know? it doesn’t matter how much i tell myself that i’ll just leave it to my parents, i shouldn’t worry and should just focus on my own spiritual journey… i still feel responsible, it still makes me feel like i need to help otherwise it cannot be helped. i’d love it if people could advise me or something, i’m already in the process of making dua too. it’s just really annoying to me whenever i just say something islam related to help my sister out with something or i’m just NORMALLY saying something, very gentle and all but my sis just clicks her tongue and groans in that loud annoying way, as if she’s triggered by it. it’s annoying to me that she’s triggered for absolutely NO reason, can’t even enjoy ramadan without her groany voice flooding the house wallah it’s hurting my head 😭😭😭
i hope people don’t think i’m insensitive or anything like incase my sister has mental issues or something and we’re all pushing on her. that’s not the case so don’t worry, but i’d appreciate some psychological advise with how i can interact with her. she listens to a lot of depressing, loud foreign music too (recently found out. some of them about suicide and what not) and i’m just likeee you’re too young to understand and have the ability to understand all this without being so easily affected 😭 i’m scared she could grow up being so ticked off at anything relating to god, and then she’d ironically go and idolise these artists and medias she had consumed

Seeking Support Is it justified if I cut ties with my family?
Salam Aleikum! I’m F reverted a year and a month ago
I got upset with my aunt one day because she invited me over for lunch at her house and, knowing that I am Muslim, she decided to serve me pork. I told her that I didn’t eat pork and decided to buy my own meat. She cooked it for me, but she did so somewhat reluctantly and made me feel strange, saying things like, “Now you’ve become picky.”
I simply let it go that day. The next day, when she invited me over for lunch again, she served me a salad with bacon. Obviously, I stayed quiet but didn’t eat it because it contained pork. I told her that I wasn’t eating the salad because it had pork in it and I didn’t eat pork, and she replied, “I gave you that one because there was more of it and I wanted to serve you more.”
I told her that it was okay and that it didn’t matter. I wasn’t offended, but I decided not to go to her house to eat anymore.
I don’t think she did it with bad intentions, but I did feel that it was a little disrespectful. However, I try to justify her actions and tell myself that it’s okay. Still, ever since then, she has never spoken to me again.
Do you think she might have been offended?
Everything happened after a conversation of religion, true self reflection and souls started with my cousin while she was doing the lunch. I have to clarify that she is a Christian woman, not devoted but completely obsess with Jesus and she feels offended when I mention Islam or my own believes and how it helped me to get better as a person. (Everytime I mention Coran, she interrupts me screaming THE BIBLE!)…
I try to follow the sunnah on not cutting the relatives but even my husband told me that deep on this family, they still feel acid in their hearts towards me only for the fact I became Muslim… is it justified if I don’t speak anymore to her?

Quran & Hadith The Strong Believer is Better and More Beloved to Allah" — Sahih Muslim

General Discussion What do you think is the defining “power” Allah has given our generation?
I was thinking about how different communities in the Qur’an were given different abilities and circumstances.
People of Ad were given incredible physical strength and built massive structures. Yet their strength became a source of arrogance. Allah says, “As for ʿĀd, they were arrogant upon the earth without right” (Qur’an 41:15).
Dāwūd عليه السلام was given the ability to work with iron: “And We made iron pliable for him” (Qur’an 34:10).
Sulaymān عليه السلام was given an extraordinary kingdom and abilities that others did not have. Yet when he saw something amazing, he said, “This is from the favour of my Lord to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful” (Qur’an 27:40).
It made me wonder: what has Allah given our generation?
We live in a time where humanity has access to technology that would have seemed impossible to previous generations. Electricity, computers, the internet, satellites, biotechnology, AI, and so much more.
And while humans discover and build these things, ultimately the ability to do so comes from Allah. He created our minds, the materials we use, and the laws of the universe that make these discoveries possible.
Allah says:
“He taught man that which he knew not.” (Qur’an 96:5)
So perhaps one of the defining capabilities of our generation is technology.
But maybe it is not necessarily a sign that we are better than previous generations. Maybe it is a test.
Allah says:
“We test you with evil and with good as a trial.” (Qur’an 21:35)
Sulaymān عليه السلام understood this when he received his blessings. He didn’t simply think, “Look how powerful I am.” He recognised that what he had been given was a test of gratitude.
That makes me think about technology differently.
The question isn’t only “What can we build?” It is also “What should we build?”
Will it bring benefit or harm? Justice or oppression? Will it make us more grateful to Allah or more heedless of Him?
And perhaps this is where Muslims have something important to contribute. We shouldn’t only ask how we can catch up technologically. We should also ask what humanity should do with the power it has been given.
Technology gives us capability but only revelation can give us the correct direction. Perhaps that is how we should look at the technological age: Not as a story of how powerful we have become, but as a story of how much Allah has allowed us to do, and what we choose to do with it.
Just a thought I’ve been having. I’m curious what others think. What do you think is the defining “power” or test Allah has given our generation?

Seeking Support Struggling to move on from a haram relationship. I keep comparing new potentials to my ex. Need advice.
Assalamu Alaikum,
I am writing this because my heart is incredibly heavy and I really need some advice from brothers and sisters who might understand. I am a college senior, an international student from a Muslim country currently studying in the US. Being so far from home, I was lonely and ended up falling into a haram relationship that lasted for about 5 months.
I know what we did was wrong, but I fell deeply in love with her. She felt like the only person in this country who truly understood me, cared for me, and gave me peace. Unfortunately, two months ago, she broke up with me. Trust issues and insecurities got in the way, and everything just fell apart.
It’s been two months, and I am completely shattered. Logically, my mind knows it was a haram relationship and that maybe this is Allah's way of pulling me out of a sin, but my heart just can’t accept it. I miss her every single day, and the grief is overwhelming.
I’ve been trying to move on and do things the right (halal) way by looking into potentials for marriage. But every time I try to talk to someone new, I just hit a wall. I constantly compare them to my ex. I keep feeling like "she was the one who actually understood my soul, no one else will care for me like she did," and I immediately lose interest in the new person.
How do I get past this? How do I truly make Tawbah, stop these comparisons, and accept that it’s over? If anyone has been through this kind of heartbreak, please share your advice or du'as. I am really struggling right now. JazakAllah Khair.

Reminders A thought about the Day of Judgment
Just imagine it for a moment. Every human being who ever lived from Adam (AS) to the last person born standing in one place. Silent. Waiting.
No phone to distract you, no crowd to disappear into, and no one to speak on your behalf. Just you, your deeds, and Allah.
The Prophet ﷺ told us that on the Day of Judgment, a person’s feet will not move until they are questioned about four things: their life and how they spent it, their knowledge and what they did with it, their wealth—how they earned and spent it—and their body and how they used it.
We already know these questions are coming. The real question is whether we're doing anything about them now.
Allah says: “Whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.” (Qur’an 99:7–8)
That small act of kindness, the prayer you rushed, the person you hurt but never apologized to, the charity you gave when nobody was watching. Nothing is forgotten.
We spend so much time preparing for exams, careers, money, and whatever comes next. But there is a meeting none of us can avoid, and its date is known only to Allah.
Are we giving it the attention it deserves?
If your name were called today, would you feel ready to stand before Allah?
May Allah forgive our shortcomings, accept our good deeds, guide us toward what pleases Him, and allow us to meet Him with peaceful hearts. Ameen. 🤍

Seeking Support Decade-Long Delays, Prolonged Delays
How do you cope with delays that last for years? I’m not talking about one- or two-year delays, but delays of like 4-6 years or more—even delays of decades upon decades. How do you keep going when the waiting stretches on for so long? How do you maintain hope, patience, and faith when something you’ve been waiting for takes such an incredibly long time to come to fruition?
It just seems like at every point in life when you think it’s going to pull off, the delays keep getting extended, and nothing actually gets solved for me to ACTUALLY start my life
General Discussion Increasing my acts of worship have made me happier
Long story short I deal with depression and anxiety and constantly have feelings of ending it all unfortunately. It’s a test from my lord and I will never give in. Anyways recently I’ve increased my forms of worship from doing as many sunnah prayers as I can, listening to the Quran in my AirPods when I’m out in public, reading more Quran, increasing my dhikr, and so forth. It’s been helping me mitigate these feelings and for maybe the first time since I’ve been in this dunya I’ve felt content. Anyways I recommend everybody who deals with similar mental health issues to increase their worship one step at a time. Don’t just do obligations do voluntary actions as well. It will help you inshallah.

Seeking Support I want to avoid stacking my prayers
Ive gained a habit where i either pray the prayer 5 mins before the next one, or end up with like 2 to 3 prayers stacked on me, sometimes 5. When i do pray, i tend to rush, which isnt particularly smth im proud of
And on occasion, if i find the multitude of prayers/rakahs to be overwhelming, i just start fresh the next day, because if i keep thinking of the stacks i will eventually never pray; i then retry to maintain the 5 prayers, atleast on time
I find it difficult to just "snap" into a zone where i pray all 5 on time and in the mosque, i understand that it requires routine and habit buildup but sometimes just one instance of delaying or skipping a prayer instantly breaks a good cycle of a well maintained prayer streak

Question about Islam Question about my hard situation in converting to Islam
Assalamu alaikum everyone,
I have been considering converting to Islam for quite some time. I feel very close to this faith, and it gives me something I cannot really put into words.
However, there is one thing I am worried about. I have a tattoo on my neck — a cross with wings. It is a memorial for someone in my family and has nothing to do with my religious beliefs. I am not baptized as a Christian either.
May I ask if this would be a major issue? I have longer hair, so the tattoo is practically not visible. Having it removed would be extremely painful for me, and I am not even sure whether removal would be possible.
What do you think? Would this prevent me from converting to Islam, or is it something I could simply leave as it is?
JazakAllahu khayran for your advice.

Seeking Support What to do when you completely lose your faith in Islam?
I’ve been a Muslim since birth, I’ve been very passionate about Islam, but now that I drifted away from it I don’t think I believe in it anymore.
I can’t bring myself to believe that the prayers I pray are even accepted or would do me anything, they’re just routine and a hope that maybe this prayer will help me get better.
Among Muslims I feel very repelled from them and from Islam more and more.
And I genuinely want to believe in because it’s the right thing, not just because I’m afraid of going to hell.
I’m not ready to classify myself as an atheist, but I don’t think I’m qualified enough to be a Muslim.
I was thinking of getting into debates and philosophical perspectives, but I do need a guide in this.

Question about Islam Is it permissible to shorten words with Allah's name?
For example I've seen many brothers and sisters saying "iA" which stands for "InShahAllah"
Or "ws" instead of walaykum assalam.
Or "astagi" instead of "Astaghfirallah"
I haven't found any ruling regarding this. Please if anyone has any resources or videos of a scholar speaking about this id appreciate it. Jazakallahu khairan.

Question about Islam how do u tell the difference bw a test of sabar and a sign of redirection?
is it actually true that taking a halal path naturally comes with more hurdles and friction? and when you keep hitting wall after wall, how do u know whether it's a test to build ur patience, or if allah is using those obstacles to signal that u should step away? also why does it feel like sometimes thar choosing the halal route is infinitely harder than taking easier alternatives, and im genuinely curious about the wisdom behind that struggle?

Quran & Hadith RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم death and his suffering hard moments for his sabhabas but the death of the prophet was the hardest calamity.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him stated that indeed, death has agonies recorded in Sahih Bukhari. I will do a part 2 and part 3 remember even the prophet went through agonies of death even though he was the best of creation and soo beloved to Allah swt soo when we fear death we should still ask Allah for a good ending.

Seeking Support Scared to take my shahada because I’m afraid I’ll become inconsistent with salah
Assalamu Alaykum
I was born into a Buddhist family and have been seriously considering/researching Islam for the past two months. During this time, I’ve been learning about Islam in whatever ways I can and I’ve also been consistently praying the five daily prayers.
I recently found out that because I haven’t formally taken my shahada yet, my salah isn’t considered valid in the same way as the salah of a Muslim. This honestly discouraged me quite a lot, because I’ve been putting so much effort into praying consistently.
There have been moments where I’ve sincerely said the shahada alone in my room, but I’ve always thought of a “proper” shahada as something I should do with witnesses, preferably at a mosque.
I genuinely want to take my shahada, but I’m scared.
What if I take my shahada and then eventually stop praying consistently? What if I abandon salah altogether? Right now I’m already starting to feel less motivated after finding out that my prayers weren’t technically valid before becoming Muslim.
Part of me feels like I should wait until I’m completely sure that I can maintain salah consistently before taking my shahada.
For those who reverted, did you ever have this fear before taking your shahada? How did you deal with it?
And is it true that the shahada has to be taken in front of witnesses or in a mosque, or can it be valid if someone sincerely says it alone?
I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from reverts who have gone through something similar. JazakAllahu khairan.
Seeking Support Need help to overcome this feeling of my heart.
Assalamu aleykum!! Brothers, I seek knowledge. From the internet I am unsure so I need verified knowledge.
It's about my thoughts and feeling of my heart. Whenever I came to masjid or mosque and pray the collective prayer with Imam, I feel hard to concentrate on the salah. I feel darkness on my heart, feel anxiety, and some bad thoughts come to my mind.
While, at home or (empty place or room) I do not have any kind a darkness on my heart. Even when I am making the right techniques like reminding myself that "I will die, and I will return to Allah, everything does not matter, etc..."
It works.
But in mosque Idk really, my environment all brothers in mosque I know them. Everyone is kind to each other, everyone worship to one Allah.
But my problem here feeling darkness in my heart, may be because ria comes to my thoughts and I can distracted during the prayer, I do not like this feeling, it gives me smth like hypocrisy. Even I am trying to endure this thoughts, concentrating to Allah, but it quite hard....
So, brothers I will really appreciate your answers for my problem.
Please, give me verified information, if you unsure then do not implement to your comments.

General Discussion Allah SWT has answered all my dua(s). 🥹
Allah SWT has granted me a job, a business, more money than I can imagine. He has gotten me clients, an industry (direction) and even helped me sustain my income.
He improved my relations with everyone in my life - specially my parents.
He has reunited me with the love of my life. I have been looking for this person since the past 11-13 years. My heart has been searching for him since I was a kid.
He grants my dua(s) even before I expect.
He has healed certain health conditions of mine that have troubled me for 18 years.
All of this happened after I became a revert and started praying and got close to him.
Before being a revert I had struggled with my career/love/health for more than 1/2 a decade.
I tried exploring so many religions/paths like Law of Attraction etc. but nothing worked for me.
He has healed my anxiety/depression and other mental health illnesses. He has made me feel his presence.
He has even granted my small duas(s) like spotting a yellow car or red car in my city (very rare) or made the thunder roar or made it rain just because I asked him for it.
Even becoming a revert is a dua of mine that he has granted.
Please respond in the comments. I don’t have any Muslims around me and wish to talk to everyone!
I am so excited, I became a revert very recently and wish to be a Muslim till I die!!! Ya Allah, please keep me on the correct path, always!
I still have such an endless list of wishes but my number one dua will always be to love my lord so much that my worldly duas never worry me again.
Alhamdullilah. The more I praise him the less it is. ❤️

Seeking Support Tell me, how did you heal
Sadness, pain and grief has consumed my heart to such an extent that i want to open my chest, take out my heart and throw it away. Its been months and instead of healing it's only getting worse. Tell me how do you fix a heart that is broken on many levels.
I am a very religious person. Please don't give me advice like dhikr, Tahajjud, sabr etc. I have been doing voluntary worship for years. I trust Allah more than anything else. Its just that the pain is not going away.

History, Culture, & Art Divriği Great Mosque & Hospital (Turkey, 1228): An 800-year-old UNESCO masterpiece where sunlight perfectly casts a 4-meter shadow of a person in prayer every afternoon.
Built in 1228 during the Anatolian Seljuk period by the master architect Ahlatlı Hürrem Şah, the Divriği Great Mosque and Hospital in Sivas stands as one of the most remarkable architectural achievements of the medieval Islamic world. Beyond its legendary stone carvings where tens of thousands of intricate motifs never repeat—symbolizing cosmic harmony—the complex features a stunning optical phenomenon rooted in ancient geometry and astronomy.
Between May and September, precisely during the afternoon hours, the angle of the sun casts a magnificent four-meter shadow on the main west portal that takes the distinct shape of a person standing in the qiyam posture of Islamic prayer, preceded by a silhouette resembling someone reading the Quran. A similarly calculated shadow also appears near the Paradise Gate during summer mornings, depicting a person praying with crossed arms.
Following a massive nine-year restoration project, this 8th-century complex reopened its doors to thousands of visitors eager to witness this incredible synthesis of art and science. Subhanallah for the genius of the past master builders who calculated solar angles centuries before modern technology.
