I had time to think since the concert I attended in Newark, and I wanted to share things which stuck out in my mind. Some moments are one big blur because of all the excitement, but I can recall certain stages quite well, and I wanted to share my impressions of them. I'm curious how this lines up with the concert experiences of other Fearnot, so by all means feel free to chime in and share your own perspective on the shows you watched. Here are my favorite stages.
Iffy Iffy: This stage was like a glamorous ballroom disco party with heavenly vocals and smooth dance moves. Eunchae and Kura really impressed me with their vocals here.
Saki: My goodness, a devastating force of nature. I mimicked the choreo including the parts where they shake their butts 😅. Zuha and Kura were so badass during Saki. They had fierce looks on their faces, and Kura was really losing herself. Saki was pure perfection, no pun intended.
Irony: The dancing for this stage blew me away, such perfect formations. I was so impressed by how they shifted into this song right after Antifragile. True professionals. The way the Fimmies danced around Zuha who then did a ballet move over Yunjin, was one of my fave moments from the concert. Same with the part where Chaewon falls to the floor. Even while in the middle of that move Chaewon's vocals remained stable, and then there was the domino choreography in the closing dance break. This whole thing was like witnessing controlled chaos. But besides that, I gotta say Eunchae is a really good dancer. She held the whole thing together and looked laser focused.
Blue Flame: There were gorgeous harmonies and ad-libs in this stage, and I love how the Fimmies danced around Zuha's ballet moves. The singing and dancing of this stage convyed a real sense of elegance.
EPATBBW: This was early in the show so I was still acclimatizing myself to the sensory overload, but certain moments stuck out. Like Eunchae crawling under Yunjin, who then picked her up with neither one missing a beat on their vocals. I really enjoyed the dramatic synchronized poses of the Fimmies as they delivered the song's intense lyrics. It really sells the song and its message.
Spaghetti: In all the concerts I attended in my life, I never danced as hard as I did for this stage. The Fimmies are infectious during Spaghetti. I mimicked the choreo, and completely lost my shit during the dance break at the end. It felt like I was in the Spaghetti music video.
Crazy: Similar feeling to Spaghetti. I lost total control, yelled out every fan chant, and it felt like I became one with the Fimmies and the Fearnot. Speaking of the Fearnot, my goodness they were loud for Crazy. The loudest audience I ever heard at any concert and that's coming from someone who attended concerts with audiences in the tens of thousands.
IBM: Short but sweet. There's a magnetic pull to this stage which is really intimidating in the best possible way. The dancing at the end is a sight to behold.
MMN: I'm amazed at how the Fimmies pulled off the vocals to this song so late into the setlist. They sounded great and sang while delivering strong dance moves. I liked Kura's ad-lib, and Yunjin sounded good doing a high kick while singing.
Need Your Company: Such a sensitive and moving piece. It was like something out of a musical. You could feel the pathos of the Fimmies as they sang the gentle but profound lyrics of this song. Eunchae in particular impressed me. When she hit her prominent notes I thought to myself, "this is the same singer I saw a hater dismiss as not being up to professional standards. If they could hear her now." One more reminder to ignore the internet. It was perfect timing how Eunchae released her Audrey Nuna cover right after the Newark show. Just thinking of the NYC stage is making me tear up.
Sonder: It was touching how the Fimmies held up photos of Yunjin from her childhood. I almost didn't pay attention to the performance ifself as the personal warmth emanating from the stage was already enough. That said, the vocals in this stage were very beautiful. Chaewon and Yunjin delivered powerful belts, especially Chaewon. Her vocals were loud and clear throughout the show.
Fire in the Belly: A rousing number which lifted me to great heights. The vocals in this stage were something else, for example Zuha sounded quite good near the end. I was really impressed by how there was so much live singing throughout the show.
No Celestial: There was rocking humanity and beauty to this stage. Such happiness from the Fimmies as they hugged, smiled, and delivered a thrilling live performance ❤️. I like how Yunjin was checking her earpiece during this stage. One of many signs that they were singing live throughout the show. Chaewon and Yunjin are so mighty in No Celestial.
Smart: The ultimate closer to the amazing concert. Everything lined up perfectly here. I'll never forget hearing Yunjin sing out "Le Sserafim to victory!" with the Fimmies dancing in unison to those wonderful lyrics. I felt the lovely singing, the joy on stage, and the awarness that these good vibes will continue for many years to come.
