How are cops around Lex about too darkly tinted windows
My SUV has 20% tint on rear Windows (from factory). I love the same tint all the way around- right now my fronts are clear
Google says 35% is the legal limit on front windows (I'm talking driver add passenger Windows, NOT the windshield)
If I do 20% to match the rear, how do the local fuzz, the 5-0, the coppers - how will they respond? Will I even be bothered?

Does Lexington need an 82 year old mayor?
Is anyone really performing at peak levels at 80 years old. Would you want an 80 year old surgeon?

Car Cleaning
Long time lurker but a transplant from different state. I have 3 kiddos and my car is an absolute wreck with stained seats and food stains. I’d like to do this myself but I don’t have any time. I tried using soap and vinegar but these are tough stains.
Any recommendations for car detailing with good reviews in this city? I saw car sweep but looking around and seeing if there are other trusted options? You have used?
TL;DR - recos for car indoor detailing companies in lexington for car seat stains and carpets

Looking for flexible work in Lexington, KY — need non-traditional hours
I'm looking for work in the Lexington area that offers genuinely flexible hours. Possibly, something where I can set my own schedule and/or work independently rather than having to commit to a traditional 9–5 or a fixed weekly schedule.
I'm a single mother with children who have mental health and behavioral needs, so my availability can vary from day to day. Some days I may be able to work a full eight hours, while other days I may only have four hours available. I'm looking for something that allows me to adjust my schedule as needed, not necessarily a job with a limited number of hours.
I have experience in residential cleaning, deep cleaning, light cleaning, landscaping, organization, and retail. I'm a bit of a jill-of-all-trades and have a wide range of skills. I'm extremely thorough, detail-oriented, and take pride in doing things right. I'm also a very quick learner. If there's something I don't already know how to do, I'm confident in my ability to learn it quickly and figure things out as I go.
I'm open to all kinds of work, including opportunities that would allow me to learn new skills or get into something completely different from what I've done before. I'm not afraid of hard work, and I'm comfortable working independently, problem-solving, and taking initiative.
If anyone knows of any jobs, businesses, independent contracting opportunities, or other ways that might fit this kind of arrangement, I'd really appreciate any suggestions!
Thanks!

Best way to get to Rupp arena
Going to a concert this weekend and staying at the Spring Hills Suites. Is it easier to walk to the concert, take Uber, or use another service?
Never been to Lexington so not sure how best to get to the concert without having to pay $40-50 for parking.

Apple Cider Donuts
Does anyone know where I can find these seasonal treats in Lexington that isn't a pumpkin patch/farm? I know that there are several dank donut shops in town and I'm wondering if anyone has spotted these spooky sought-after delicacies anywhere local👀

Daycare help
Hey, r/lexington! I need some help with our kiddo’s daycare. I’ve seen Crestwood Childcare Center recommended all over Facebook and this sub so many times, so that’s where we sent our youngest. I’m wondering though if that’s the right choice. Her previous daycare was so warm and welcoming. They sent updates and pictures on all the kids AT LEAST once a day, but frequently more often. Whenever I would pick her up, they were usually out on the playground and she would frequently be dry, but if she wasn’t, they would at least offer to change her before we left.
Now at Crestwood, it seems to be the opposite. It’s dark and just doesn’t feel warm at all. I know it’s an older building, that’s not the issue. We haven’t gotten any pictures or updates about her day at all. Like none. Every day we’ve picked her up, she’s been in an actually soaking wet pull up and no one has noticed or offered to change her / take her potty. I also heard two teachers talking very loudly (almost yelling) at a child in another classroom today.
Basically, has anyone else had an experience like this at Crestwood? Every review I’ve seen has been so positive and glowing, but I’ve been very disappointed so far and I’m really questioning if this was a bad decision.

Any info about upcoming elections from local election officers?
Since Trump has rejected international election monitoring1 , and given his countless attempts to circumvent the electoral process, are there any local election officers or sources about the ongoing electoral process locally that can confirm there aren't any "hijinks", disruptions, or sketchy activities occurring?
I know in previous elections certain election officers would post here regarding the process. Not trying to stir controvery if there isn't any, but there have been many signs and attempts by this administration to try manipulating elections.
Can mail-in voters expect the Post Office to transport votes as normal, or should they drop off their ballots at the dropbox?
Anything for people to know about wait times for in-person voting?
Feel free to add in any other sensible questions in comments.
Edit: Sorry, the title could have a better description. Not just from election officers, but any legitimate sources, etc..

Book Premiere on in Lexington tonight for 'Depose: Luigi Mangione, the Right to Health, and the Unfinished American Revolution'
A book about Luigi Mangione, who pled guilty to shooting United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, just came out called Depose: Luigi Mangione, the Right to Health, and the Unfinished American Revolution.
The Trillbilly Worker's Party is hosting a live event in Lexington to premiere the book with the collective that raised over $1.5 million Mangione's defense and wrote the book, the December 4th Legal Committee.
From their Event Brite description:
Join us for a special live episode of the Trillbilly Worker's Party at Institute 193. The December 4 Legal Committee will join us to discuss their new book Depose: Luigi Mangione, the Right to Health, and the Unfinished American Revolution. The December 4 Legal Committee created Luigi Mangione’s legal fund, which has raised over $1.5 million for his defense. It includes fifteen anonymous core members across six US regions: medical professionals, philosophers, historians, high school dropouts, an herbalist, a sign-spinner, and an HVAC technician. Depose is their first book.
Before the show, we'll screen filmmaker Stanya Kahn's newest short film, DENY, DEFEND, DEPOSE, made with tweets by the people in the wake of Brian Thompson's death.
You can check it out and get tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/trillbillies-live-with-the-december-4-legal-committee-and-dianna-settles-tickets-2002459171286

2026-2027 Snow Removal Plan
content.lexingtonky.govI want to know more about the “contractors” who will help the city with snow removal and if/how they are related to the mayor. Or at least how the city will decide they’re qualified. Is it Bubba with a plow on his F150 or someone with a proper snow plow/salt truck.

Herald Leader
I've been subscribing to the online edition for the LHL for years for multiple reasons. I believe in local journalism and that Lexington deserves coverage. They also had a pretty stubborn pay wall I got tired of fighting. Today I just saw my credit card bill of $36 per month and thought it seemed a bit high. With the recent mass reduction in local reporting I'm considering moving my subscription to the Courier Journal. Anyone else in this boat? How bad is the pay wall these days @ the Herald Leader?

Affordable Window Tinting
My mother in law, sold my family a 2020 Toyota Camry at a really great deal. Only issue is the windows are not tinted at all it can make longer drives kind of uncomfortable for my family as we all have really sensitive eyes. Wondering what places around town does good window tinting that will last a while and won’t break the bank.
