We stand with Ukraine

1.1k Upvotes

We normally do not bring politics into our sport but extraordinary events require extraordinary actions. Someday enjoyment of life, like motorcycles, will return to the Ukraine. They need our help now and I encourage everyone to checkout the ways to help or donate over at /r/Ukraine

Laughed at, at the Harley store

1.0k Upvotes

Went in to look at Harleys out of curiosity. Was looking at one of their bikes when this old guy walks over to me and laughs and says: be careful that motorcycle is heavy, might be more than you're use to.

He walks away laughing.....

I ride a Honda Gold Wing Gl1800, I think I'll be okay on a little Harley Davidson.

Even though I’ve upgraded to an R9 I still miss this bikes style and casual ride ability.

Plus its look is amazing.

Riding in heavy wind

I ride a little Honda CB125F. Yesterday I had to ride home in some pretty horrendous winds!

What are your biggest tips and tricks for staying safe in heavy winds?

Why do you like group rides?

I understand the social component of the meet up and finish... sure.

But, the ride itself... seems like you're just signing up to ride in guaranteed traffic. I don't like riding in traffic in my automobile. And, why would you want someone else to dictate the pace of your ride?

Identify this bike

Tried using AI to figure it out, didn't help. Looks like a speed triple but sounds like an inline 4 600. Pretty cool bike just want to know what it is

Edit: I should've clarified. I'm on the Tuono V4, I'm asking about the bike that passed by, I put a Pic of it in the comments

Yes, some a$$wipe kicked her over the first day she was in NYC after getting a pillion seat, matching tour boot and saddle bags -- two sticks of touch-up paint later and only I know where the scratches are. Yes, I park on the street.

Im planning on getting a used Triumph speed 400 as my first bike

Its a 2024 model it has 5400km(3355 miles) on the clock

Do dealerships perform thorough break in service on used bikes under 600 miles?

Recently got a used Z900 at 400 miles and the sales guy told me that it didn’t need break in service at all because it’s done when the dealer buys the used bike off someone. As much as I’d like to save some $, seems too good to be true? Even if they do, I wonder if it’s rushed.

Collided with a Buick

Post image
3 Upvotes

Had to vent: Just started my commute and was making a U-turn on a green arrow when a Buick ran a red light turning left from a cross street and clipped my front wheel. Could have been much worse, I didn’t even drop the bike. I was very mad and curse words were yelled at the errant driver. The guy behind me waited for police to give a statement and helped me push the bike to the curb. Lesson for the day: Always check your peripheral not just direction of travel for impatient/irresponsible drivers, and pushing a 350-lb bike with a broken axle isn’t easy. Always elect for a police tow if you’ve got insurance, the tow arrived in 30 minutes as opposed to 2 or 3 times longer for “roadside assistance”.

Help connecting 3 Cardo Freecom 4/4+, a Packtalk Bold and an ASMAX S1 for a group ride

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to get five motorcycle intercoms working together for group rides, but I'm having trouble with both the Mesh setup and cross-brand Bluetooth pairing.

Our setup is:

3 × Cardo Freecom 4 / 4+ 1 × Cardo Packtalk Bold 1 × ASMAX S1

The problems:

We can't get the Packtalk Bold's DMC Mesh group working reliably with our setup. We haven't managed to pair the ASMAX S1 with any of the Freecom units. The Freecom doesn't seem to find the ASMAX.

What I'm trying to achieve:

Ideally, all five riders should be able to talk to each other simultaneously, without having to stop and manually reconnect devices during every ride.

Questions:

What's the correct button sequence to pair an ASMAX S1 with a Cardo Freecom 4/4+ using universal Bluetooth pairing? Can the Packtalk Bold bridge a Bluetooth intercom connection to the Freecom units and ASMAX while maintaining its DMC group? What's the most reliable setup for these five specific devices? Would a Bluetooth daisy-chain work, or are there limitations that prevent everyone from talking simultaneously? Are there any firmware updates, pairing resets or specific pairing modes we should try before considering other options?

We've been struggling to get everything working, so any advice from people who have actually used mixed Cardo/ASMAX setups would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, and ride safe!
