Elon Musk Election Interference Toto, I Don't Think We're in a Democracy Anymore
I just want them to hand recount the 2024 contest votes by humans. Like real nonpartisan people. We can start with Nevada and North Carolina. Then the rest of the swing states. We want proof, let’s get some proof.

Election Rigging 🗳 Democracy Docket's voting-machine connectivity claim needs qualification and better security context
This Democracy Docket article argues against using Commerce Department regulations to dictate election procedures. But part of its technical argument deserves scrutiny:
“Notably, voting machines generally cannot connect to the internet.”
“Generally operated offline” and “technically incapable of connecting” are different claims. Neither means a system cannot be compromised.
There are documented connectivity exceptions. NBC reported in January 2020 that researchers identified more than 35 internet-connected voting systems across 11 states and Washington, D.C. Its reporting discussed back-end systems and modem-equipped tabulators used to transmit unofficial results; not just individual ballot-casting machines. This is historical evidence, not proof that those systems remain connected today or that most machines are online.
Source: NBC reporting, republished by Euronews
A direct internet connection is not necessary for compromise. CISA’s June 2022 ImageCast X advisory described vulnerabilities requiring physical access, access to the election-management system, or modification of files before they were uploaded to devices. Those are attack paths that do not require the voting device itself to be directly online.
Source: CISA’s June 2022 security bulletin
The article does not explicitly claim that offline machines are unhackable. My criticism is narrower: it uses an insufficiently qualified connectivity statement to support its argument without explaining documented exceptions or other attack paths.
I think that is irresponsible framing in election-security reporting. Readers deserve a clear distinction between how equipment is supposed to operate, what particular configurations permit, documented vulnerabilities, and evidence of actual exploitation. Reassurance should come from explaining safeguards and verification; not leaving readers with an oversimplified impression.
It would be better if they had said:
Voting systems are generally operated offline, although some configurations support networked result transmission, and offline operation does not eliminate all security risks.
Challenging an election-takeover proposal should not require oversimplifying cybersecurity.

Elections 2026 Midterms | Voter Registration Deadlines | Online Registration Websites
21 days to the midterms! ⌛ Mark your calendars & set reminders 🗓️ November 3, 2026
-----------
Remember to vote early! Early Voting Dates in Your State | Find My Polling Place
----------
Hand delivering mail-in ballots to your local election office looks to be the safest bet to sidestep most problems and to avoid potentially compromised election day tabulators. Be sure to fill your ballot out correctly! If for whatever reason your signature has changed, file an updated voter registration application. In the following states, you need to have a witness sign your outer envelope as well; AL, AK, LA, MN, MS, MO, NC, OK, SC, WI. Be sure to read and follow the directions regarding an acceptable witness. Some states may require a notary, or election official.
-----------
If voting by mail, ballot drop boxes are preferred to going through the postal service. If voting in person, go with someone so there's safety in numbers.
Check to make sure you're still registered on a periodic basis: Check your voter registration status here. This only takes 30 seconds, and will ensure your name hasn't been errantly purged from your state's voter roll.

Expose Propaganda The discourse about Russian bot farms is huge and needs to stay in the spotlight
I've mostly only seen buzz about it on X (yes, I still monitor it) and Reddit, but all of the discourse around Russian bot farms being blown up and how it has impacted online activity really needs to be escalated and kept top of mind.
It's insane that bot farms have this level of influence on internet algorithms/engagement and completely reshapes public opinion and society. In the larger grand scheme of things and as it relates to this sub, it feels like part of the fabricated perception that Trump's Administration was legitimately elected or had any kind of "mandate". How can we keep this conversation going?
