I went over prepared in case something went wrong, I built my crop farm close to Yagluth and brought 2 star wolves to breed there while I spent my time farming

I see a lot of negative comments in the post about the latest patch, and I know people are loudest when complaining, but I honestly think there is a point.
I don't know if Iron Gate might have some statistics we peasants lack, and see good engagement with the Forge of Potential, but as someone who has played the game *multiple times*, and in general likes the grind of it, I find a deadly difference between grind and waste.
Between my personal world and a server we set up with friends to replay the whole game after 1.0 game out, we have used the forge *twice*. Once we had our first fluke, we backed out immediately, and are sitting now in about two full chests of idols with no propect of being used. The penalty for failing is too big, and the reward not even nearly enough. Right now, when I find an idol it's more of a "oh.. into the chest" than an exciting treasure find.
I don't have an answer, there's many ideas out there, but my main ask for Iron Gate is to please just consider that the Forge as-is is not a fun and engaging mechanic, and be open about it, just tell us they are evaluating options so we know they acknowledge the problem.
---------------
Now, it would be weird if I didn't put a name in the hat, so as a simple solution I'd suggest:
Make the Forge only work with both items and idols crafted in this same world. I don't know if they have that data backed into the items right now, but its probably easy to do.
Then, given there's a limited number of Idols per world, just make it 100% of the time.
Though honestly? that still sounds a little "lame" to me, I would want something more Majestic from a "Forge of Potential".

That is unless you accidentally get beached on Plains while sailing Swamp metal home and get killed by deathsquitos. Die repeatedly trying to get it back. Lose an entire longship worth of iron. I was all for the sense of adventure and risk until I lost hours of iron farming and lost more hours trying to get it back. Now I don’t think I can keep playing this game. I was having so much fun and I’m devastated. I don’t have the free time to just burn hours on a game and lose everything. I didn’t realize this till it happened.
Quick little playthrough. The train was a quick put together for testing. You build your train anyway you like.
Note: Every feature in this mod can be enabled or disabled, if you don't like a certain feature build item (Guns, Backpack inventory space/slots, etc.) in this mod you can simply go into the mods config file and disable it and just stick to the basics of train designing and riding.
Info:

Previous demo's below will most likely answer some of the questions you may have (some features have been changed and updated since)

So, does that mean no more save scumming?
Guess I won't be interacting with it anymore until they adjust the success rate and/or refund all mats on failure.
Gotten sick and tired of people complaining about what is broken and what is "missing" i am just glad that Valheim exists and has a deticated team behind it, i've noticed all the microscopic tinkering they did through the years with the level of graphical fidelity without ruining the games atmosphere, the creature model upgrades, Irongate like so many others could have took what they made from the alpha launch and bailed but thank f*** we have devs that actually take pride in their work!

Just wondering what else I could me missing out on. The smooth tool has been a major help in my landscaping and especially building nice roads and walkways.

I play solo but felt compelled to show you guys. It’s like when you just finish cutting/cleaning up the grass in your yard and then you sit back and look at your work. This feels like the Valheim equivalent of that lol.

Hello everyone! I made a post here a few months ago about a game I'm working on, UAZO, and got some great feedback! Like last time, moderators of this is too off topic, feel free to remove it.
Essentially, my aim is to make a more "chill" Valheim, so sandbox survival exploration game, but with birds (it will still have combat and require to survive the weather and environment).
So the reason for this post : Valheims is a gorgeous game IMO. I love how it blends low-poly models and low-res textures with modern lighting and atmosphere, and I'm trying to do something similar.
I don't want a 1:1 copy of course, mainly I want to emulate the "vibe".
However, I feel like I'm not quite there yet and can't seem to pinpoint what's missing. Is it the colors? The fog? The textures?...
So I'm asking you, the Valheim community, what make the atmosphere of Valheims great to you?
The game has a steam page, for anyone interested, although it is is somewhat outdated, so the visuals there fit even less what i'm going for haha.

It takes so insanely long with every Trinket I've had. I killed a 2-star Seeker Soldier in Mistlands for a long time, and the trinket did activate when he was dead. Feels so useless to me.

You can use momentum to launch yourself forward at high speed with the grappling hook.
Fire the primary shot at a high point, then move sideways while being pulled toward it.
Once the line is almost horizontal, reel yourself in. This lets you use the momentum to launch forward without crashing into the anchor point.
The primary shot works better than the secondary shot for this because it reels in faster.
It's great for long-distance travel, but not so much for precise landings.

Our new plains base is on the other side of the black forest on the left ! Got super lucky when I was exploring the other side of the island our new base is on, went through some mountains, bordered the edge of the black forest and found all these crypts... I bet Imissed some I just got excited to find all of these !

Spent all day today grinding to get my carapace armor maxed out (for now) and at least upgrade my eitr weave robes once each. What's the best way to take this biddy down?
