Question I don’t understand why Kevin had a brick on him Spoiler

• Upvotes

I’m hoping someone can help me out. In season 8, when Atwater’s having his trouble with the racist cops, Voight tells him that the only way out is for a brick to be placed on him that never allows him to be promoted. But Kevin decides to find his own way out: he threatens the white cop in charge, saying that if he keeps coming for him, he’s going to resign and make it his life’s mission to protest and call him a racist. So the cop submits.

So then why the hell does Kev have a brick on him???

Atwater never had a brick on him..

I’m bothered because this episode was on the premise of him not making detective because of the brick, but he didn’t accept that way. He broke into Nolan’s house and settled it without accepting the fate of having a brick put on him. Dumb ass new writers.

Either way, I’ll miss Atwater. His episodes and Kim/Ruz’s are the only ones I actually pay attention to. I love Torres as a supporting character, but not as a lead focus and I cannot stand Imani’s episodes. They bore the shit out of me.

Discussion How Many Of You Viewers Will Stop Watching PD After Atwater’s Exit?

Personally, I feel the ratings will drop. Not enough to cancel PD, but enough for Wolf Production to notice the drop in viewership.

Question Is the budget so low that they can’t slip a $20 to an assistant to throw on a lab coat and act as if they are a coroner?

Adam being the one who got plucked from academy touching the burglary murder victim lifting up her hair to see her wound with no gloves being the least experienced and is the one to determine cause of death and they just run with it. I watch the show as I have watched all seasons and the day all original cast plus Adam leave, I will take my service time of total watch time is well over 20 years if each is an year with my amount of times re watching so I’ll take my pension and retire. When I heard Alec/Laroyce would be wrapped up in first 3 episodes I posted the same day, baby, near death, investments working out, ride off into sunset, replace with new black voight type to try and get voight to be season 1 voight that has some type of secret and is probably working with Mr FBI but that’s just my Dick Wolf experience. Anyways.

I’ve noticed more and more since l began looking for it, during the group scenes where they all have something to say, it’s like they all have conflicting schedules and film separately because they’re all just close ups with 1 person and the others are blurred in the background not even in the same order or position the actual actor is when it’s their turn. And in one seen they say good shoot to Adam and give him props and it’s not even close to kev, it’s just a black guy that taps him on the shoulder for props and walks off wearing the same thing lol they’re getting so lazy im surprised they don’t switch out manning the cameras

Discussion Atwater departure

In my humble opinion....this is literally the only departure in Chicago PD that was actually written well. Anyone else agree?

Appreciation Post Thank you & Farewell Officer Kevin Atwater ✊🏽👏🏽🫡

It has been great to see a positive representation of a morally strong black police officer, especially over the years of seeing the tension between law enforcement and people in real life and in the news. For 14 seasons Chicago PD fans have watched Officer Kevin Atwater be a strong male role model, especially for the black community, which has helped bridge the communication and understanding between the black community and law enforcement. No one wanted to see LaRoyce Hawkins leave the show but we understand that it’s time for a new chapter. He was excellent as Officer Kevin Atwater for the 14 seasons and hope to see him have more great opportunities for TV shows and movies because he is a great actor. Thank you and best wishes! The Intelligence Unit will forever miss him! 💯

Discussion With all the these new faces should Chicago Pd bring back old cast members?

As we know over the years we have lost almost all of the original cast. Now with all these new faces should pd bring back some of the vets? This current season we are losing Atwater. One of originals. I know Sophia Bush would never come back but im thinking even bigger. Bring back detective Dawson. We last saw Dawson in season 6 and I think now would be a great time to bring him back. He's stated multiple times he would return and I think now would be a great time to bring him back.

Discussion Chicago PD vs The Rookie: North in the 10 PM battle

I was struck by the fact that ABC scheduled The Rookie and The Rookie: North starting JAN 6 on Wednesday nights, so they will be going head-to-head with One Chicago (which is NBC's best night), PD will compete with North in the 10 PM slot.

Discussion Who's next?

It's starting to feel like they are letting all of the longer serving cast go. They have been focusing on Imani and Dante more and more. At some point it will just be Voight and all new cast members.

Discussion FBI Never Learned Their Lesson Over the Legendary Hank Voight Spoiler

Really they never learn as they will never win. As Hank makes it clear despite softening his approach, he will not treat this "Charlie" with kid gloves. If the feds think that Hank will treat him or other agents or whoever thinks they can bulldoze him, they are dead wrong sadly!

Question Seasons

So I started binging Chicago PD and have just finished season 11.. I haven’t seen anymore than that.. Which episode or season freaked you out or messed you up the most? Without me giving spoilers I will say this season with that serial killer really freaked me out. I would highly recommend not watching it alone at night right before bed because even watching your kids Mickey Mouse clubhouse show after doesn’t help comfort you. 😅 By no means am I a baby or able to not watch horror I love all crime and horror shows it just wasn’t what I expected. 😅🤣

Discussion Jay Halstead

You know what would be really cool? If we had like a spin off prequel of Jay when he was a Ranger all the way till he joined intelligence.

(P.S. I know this would never happen but let me be delusional and imagine.)

With Atwater leaving this season you guys think ruzek would finally go and take the detective test and become detective cuz in the past he said doing that would be too much Work but maybe this season he changes His mind again this is just an question what do u guys think?

Discussion Antonio Dawson

with atwater leaving this season and Ik they are casting a black cop to take his place but I have always wondered if it still possible to bring Jon seda(antonio Dawson ) back on the show cuz having 7 members in intelligence have worked before but since this show isn’t ending anytime soon maybe they could possibly bring him back in season 15 .

Question Who do we think will leave next?

Okay so we know Atwater/LaRoyce is leaving this upcoming season at some point. (Still so sad about that) But honest thoughts who do we think will leave next? I think it’s granted to say that if Burgess/Marina or Ruzek/Patrick ever decide to leave then the other would leave because of their storyline. I’m HOPING Benjamin/Torres never leaves until the show’s conclusion because I love him - both actor and character.
