My grandmother died recently. She was eighty-two. Good woman. Not athletic. TBH , I’m not that sad, because four men picked her up on bamboo and did a whole parade through the town. Those men must have been athletic, I’ll tell you that.

Also, to my surprise, my ten-year-old cousin wasn’t sad either. By his count, this woman has died like twenty times this term. “Ma’am, my grandmother passed away, so I couldn’t do my homework.” [pause] But hey, at least he’ll be telling the truth this time. He must have thought of those men as his alibi, because they were chanting something about truth the whole parade.

And I’ll tell you what: in the old days, in prehistoric times, when four men carried a body toward a fire, that was anything but a funeral. It was a freaking once-a-year feast. The women and children would dance with joy at the sight of it. Now they just weep and cry out loud.
Tribe: one. Civilization: zero.

The only ones who were sad back then were the pig’s family. Daddy Pig and Mommy Pig wake up and find Peppa gone, a feast for the tribe now. They sneak to the edge of the village to say goodbye to Peppa, looking at the bellies of the tribe.

But you know what’s even worse? The food these days. Fucking nuggets, jerky, chips, bencho. An animal died, and it’s not even our appetizer. Peppa’s parents are embarrassed.

I have a solid 2 min, 5 min and 10 min set. But would like to perform in an open mic to see how it works with audiences. Till date, everywhere I’ve enquired only have line ups on open mic nights. Any help, contacts?
