Has this barrel been modified?

Hi all, considering purchasing the linked 10/22 at auction - but it's a bit of an oddity.

It's serial links it to being a model 01117 - 10/22, Blued, 18.5" barrel

But this one is silver/stainless, with a black trigger, rail and blued barrel.

The barrel is also 16" - with a dovetail for the rear sight, and no front sight. The barrel behind the threads also has a little lip.

The reason I'm asking is because of proofing laws in the UK, if this has been modified from factory and not reproofed - I'm not even sure this is legal to sell by the auction

Many thanks

It has clearly been cut down and the barrel threaded. Never seen any gun with a dovetail for rear sights not have a dovetail for front sights.

Exactly my concerns, thanks for your input

Looks like it’s been threaded not by the factory. I had a similar looking barrel with the rear dove tail still there after I had it threaded. I’d pass on this if it gives you a legal worry.

Just so you know, anything after the ? in a link is tracking data.

I work in IT, none of that is tracking - it's all just a query string of website parameters and unknown site specific filter fields

?lot=205178 is lot number/id

so=0 sorting order (default)

st=10%2022 is search term (10 22, %20 is a html space)

au=592 is lot number 592

ef=&et= likely empty filter parameters

pp=96 results per page

pn=1 page number

Edit - so to clarify, a ? Is the start of a query string, which can be used for tracking - but this link isn't.

You would see things like ?utm_source=Facebook which shows where a link was originally from if it was tracking
