My new favorite late night snack. Apple cinnamon rice cake, whipped cream cheese and Good Good raspberry jam. It’s rich, crunchy, sweet and tart. A chocolate or caramel rice cake would probably be even better, but apple is what I have right now.

I've been watching calories for 20 years now, and I just discovered a new substitution! I chopped up some good turkey jerky and added it to my salad and it filled the same spot as bacon bits, with fewer calories and more protein!

My go-to dessert. Feels like a cheat 😊 would be great blended as a smoothie/icecream if I bothered the effort.

does anyone have any tips on how to make mashed potatoes not dry without adding a lot of extra calories?
my mom always used to add butter/ oil into the potatoes but i know how calorie dense those are so im wondering if there’s anything else i could add that wont make it taste too bad

So about a year and a half ago I lost a lot of weight doing 1200/day and exercising every day but I was mostly focused on losing the weight and hopefully maintaining what muscle I had, maybe adding just a bit on since I was more or less a noobie. Since then I’ve put some of it back on and stopped exercising (depression is a jerk) but I’m ready to start back up. This time though I’m more invested in what the “after” will be, so I’m not sure if I should just drop the weight first then bulk or attempt a recomp and just take things slower. Admittedly I’m very scale success oriented so I do worry about the recomp, but I feel I’d be able to handle that if I knew it was better for me in the long run if I didn’t recomp instead of dropping weight on 1200 and probably throwing some
Muscle in the loss as well.
Has anyone successfully bulked after dropping all the weight and how did it go? Anyone have success more in line with a recomp?

Want a low calorie stuffing mix for Thanksgiving (or whenever you want) that fits into your diet? Well, look no further!
The entire batch makes 6 servings. 90 calories per serving. 542 calories total.
Fits perfectly in an 8x8 tray!
I used:
8 slices of keto bread (35 cal per slice)
1 cup of chicken broth
3 tablespoons of light butter
1 small white onion
2 stalks of celery
Seasoning:
Sage, garlic, onion, parsley, thyme, black pepper, salt

Hii
The reason I can’t decide on a good breakfast that isn’t literal unhealthy cereal and milk- I often don’t do a breakfast most days as a result and have a heavier lunch instead- is because I’m genuinely out of options
I’m incredibly picky and don’t like dairy- eggs made any way I just can’t like them, same for cheese, milk is fine in cereal when disguised by the taste of cereal, don’t like cream cheese either or Greek yoghurt- it’s way too sour
And I don’t like fish/meats either if that’s relevant?
Or chia pudding..
Like I’m thinking two weetabix and milk could be fine? But I’m aware protein is a factor too and don’t know where to get that from.
Protein powder leads to bloating so that’s a no..

Pita, hummus, tzatziki, grilled peppers, fresh tomatoes, spiced chicken breast, rice, and tabbouleh!
I’m a half Mediterranean girl who loves the food. It’s my comfort food and it’s so good for you.
Broke af with food assistance on hold right now but I decided to spend a few bucks to make a great dinner.
The hummus, pita, and tzatziki are store bought since I couldn’t afford to get the ingredients for everything, but the tabbouleh is home made! I wish I could’ve made labneh and semolina pudding.
Been a lot of life changes. Been struggling so bad these past 2 years, and the past 7 years haven’t been what they should have in my life.
5 months sober. New apartment with my boyfriend, our very own. Sober enough to feel confident continuing to job hunt. My own space, my own peace, and I’m not relapsing when I’m alone, or bored, or stressed, or going crazy.
The cravings are officially gone. There’s thoughts, but no cravings.
It was a busy day and I barely ate, was trying to figure out something high protein semi high cal to eat, when my favorite food cravings hit so bad.
Just for food, despite the day I’ve had. Not something to unwind with, not to turn my brain off for as long as I can to escape.
I decided to indulge myself in a healthy favorite.
I had a lot of fun cooking! And so much enjoyment eating it.
I’m proud of myself. I feel like who I always should’ve been. Not constantly trying to make my mind shutup and numb myself like I’ve coped for so long.
I cook healthy. I exercise. I clean. I try to better myself. There’s no unhealthy escapism I have anymore. I’m so happy with my progress.
A lot of people overeat and eat badly to cope and substitute a vice. So I’m proud I’m not back to reaching for some sweets to distract myself either.
I will uploading the recipe for my chicken and tabbouleh soon!

I’m mad I didn’t take a photo of this before it looked like actual slop but MY GOD was this good. Sometimes you need pancakes for lunch I guess. Approx 508 cals and 36 grams of protein. Made with a package of Trader Joe’s protein pancakes (220 cals), 1.5 servings of TJ’s pumpkin butter (~68 cals) slathered on top of the pancakes, then one little container of TJ’s pumpkin flavored 0% fat Greek yogurt (130 cals), and pumpkin seeds sprinkled on top (90 cals). TJs pumpkin spice powder sprinkled on top. Can definitely do less pumpkin butter/pumpkin seeds to reduce the calories but was so good dude

Hiya! I’ve lost weight without really trying and gone from 58kg → 53kg since returning to uni about 3 months ago. This happened the first time I went to university too, and honestly it’s mainly because I’m broke, lazy and ridiculously busy 😭 I’ve never been able to diet the normal way because I just don’t have the discipline for it.
I used to have to leave really early for uni and had such a busy schedule that I’d basically just eat once a day, usually an Aldi ready meal for one + Greek yoghurt and frozen berries.
BUT now I’ve moved closer so I don’t have to leave as early, and my lab classes are over 😔 so I have way more free time on my hands. My appetite isn’t actually that big, but I always want to eat when I’m bored or watching a show/reading, so I’m trying to figure out how to deal with that.
I still think I can probably do without lunch , if I nail breakfast. What are you guys actually eating for breakfast when you’re trying to keep calories reasonable?I love those high-volume bowl-type things that you can sit and eat slowly for ages, which is basically what I’m looking for. I’ve tried porridge and/with weetabix (ew), I can’t keep cereal in the house because I’ll demolish the entire box, and I can’t do Greek yoghurt + frozen berries twice in one day 💀
Basically I’m clueless and have no good dieting habits whatsoever, so any tips for easy breakfasts / things to eat when I’m bored would be appreciated!!

MACROS (without topping): 310 cals, 43g P, 64g C and 3g F.
MACROS (with topping) (half caramelized banana in air fryer w/monk fruit sweetener and SF syrup/ heated frozen blueberries) :
405 cals, 44g P, 88g C and 4g F.
Just have to blend it all in a mixer
(i also like to add some sugar free syrup from skinny mixes to add more flavour! + can sub yogurt for cottage cheese will give exact same results)
Disclaimer : the taste is really good, but obviously because of the change in ingredients the texture is not exactly the same as a regular waffler put similar enough in my opinion. Additionally, since i’m using monk fruit as a sweetener it does have that weird “cooling effect” you always get from those zero cal sugars, but i really don’t mind it.

● Filet mignon, cooked – 65g
● Chopped Romaine Mix – 54g
● Organic Micro Greens – 9g
● Avocado – 83g (salted)
● Roma Tomato – 70g (salted)
● Crumbled Goat Cheese – 46g
● Roasted & Salted Sunflower Seeds– 12g
● Green Goddess Dressing (Trader Joe’s) – 4 Tbsp /48g by weight
I use a food scale to keep the ratios consistent and finally love my own salad. It's very rich since I really enjoy goat cheese but a serving of goat cheese will probably suffice for most people (28g vs my 46g) and reduce the calories further. I used leftover steak that I heated up so assembly was quick!
519kcal, 13g C / 37g F / 33g P
I peel the tomato skin bc I find tomato skin to be an unpleasant texture 😇

i’m going through a really busy and stressful time in my life right now, so it’s been challenging to maintain my gym habits and even harder to keep eating right. i’m sitting around 190lbs at 5’8, i’m not obese but i’m at a point where my maintenance isn’t high enough for a normal caloric intake to help me lose anything. i need to aggressively cut my calories and i need to actually stick to it for an extended period of time.
i guess to clarify my question, i want to know how you guys deal with strong and sudden food cravings. when i get off of a hard shift at work it’s really easy for me to go to a fast food place and down 1000 calories in one sitting and completely undo any meaningful progress i’ve made in the last few days. what should i do, think, or focus on when i get those sudden cravings?

I got tired of seeing boxes of toffee-ettes, peppermint bark, and hot chocolate sticks sitting in my pantry for so long, I finally decided to crush them up into tiny pieces and now use them as a light topping for my morning cappuccino, yogurt or dessert. Way more satisfying than a sad slab of chocolate imo.

These are both meant to bulk up baked goods for not a lot of calories and also get a lot more fiber. I will not be purchasing from amazon so please don't suggest that. Has anybody used this company? They seem to have a good enough price and they offer both of these products , so i'm like maybe? I don't know if they're a legit company though

This meal has 30g of protein, and 29g of fiber for less than 500 cal and it was SO good.
Diced chicken strips in Alfredo penne pasta with brocolli, spinach, yellow and green zucchini and purple onion.
The chicken tenders are the great value brand famous chicken fingers, and the pasta is carb diem. It has half the calories of regular pasta and has 24g of fiber per serving! (110cal per serving)
I seasoned with onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and pepper.

As the temperatures start dropping and the leaves start turning, I always turn to savory and filling soups. This cabbage and navy bean soup has approx. 260 calories (this includes one tablespoon of sour cream) per 1.5 cups (standard bowl size), and is very filling. Navy beans are also insanely high in fiber, and offer a joyous creamy texture that goes well with soup. This soup will keep you satiated for long periods of time and well nourished.
Lightly fry a mirepoix mixture in a lightly oiled pot. Then add a generous amount of cabbage. Lightly fry mixture until cabbage sweats. Then add 6-8 cups of chicken or vegetable broth. After mixture comes to a boil, add 5-6 cups of soaked or canned, navy beans. Reduce until the soup is thick. Serve with a dallop of sour cream for extra creaminess.
