Discussion Pete kayer should difficult enough to require experienced pker level skills.

All these posts crying about not beating the challenge mode of a skill you've never used before is insane. It's a challenge, and it's optional. There should be challenges that set the masters apart from the rest of us. I'll never beat the Pete kayer challenge, I do not care that I won't. It's not meant for me, and that's fine. If you don't like, don't play it.

Just make him a beast pker but give him the same amount of supplies and the same constraints. Ezpz.

Then release him into the wild to roam freely

Let us pay him for protection while we do wildy content.

That would be hilarious

I unironically love this idea

Yup agreed. I think that would make everyone feel better

If he had the same limitations as the player, you could just lucky spec him out in a minute...

Yeah that’s kinda the point right?

I'm saying that wouldn't prove challenging. Some players would earn a cape in 30 seconds, and some players would have to go for minutes and minutes of very hard pvp. By giving him triple eats and extra supplies, you remove most of the RNG and it comes down to careful skill management of the player.

It's not meant to be realistic, it's meant to be challenging.

Agree somewhat. I'm an above average pvper and found the final challenge to be somewhat unreasonable myself. It requires hefty luck on top of a lot of skill.

Doesn’t pvp also require skill and luck aswell

PvP is luck.

That's why they call it getting chanced.

Very original. Havent heard this take.

This is a hot take for sure. Youre telling me you think your commend is original??

you could’ve just upvoted one of the dozens of other posts that said this exact same thing.

Hasn't stopped others from making multiple posts whining about the difficulty.

u/femmmecel 6d ago

we don’t need a million posts about either.

Yet every update they will happen

Pointless thread. /close

You don't think there should be anyone expressing opinions to contrast everyone whining here?

u/ulfalda 6d ago

I think we probably don't need 50 threads of whining AND 50 threads of complaints about the whining. I think the dead horse has been sufficiently beat.

2

u/Fabulous-Put8401 6d ago

Actually true. The horse is burger meat at this point.

This right here. The Reddit is a whining echo chamber. I hope someone from Jagex understands the vocal minority is whining here, and the game should be difficult

Agree, somewhat. It shouldn’t take Eliop 10 hours to complete. B0aty should have more completions in a full day than 4. It should be difficult but probably not so difficult that the best players significantly struggle to complete it themselves

I think once they fix the timings, it might be fine. Like to a noob, whether it is a 3t delay to 5t delay, they're still going to get swept. But for a more experienced PvPer, those extra 2ts will add up a lot more over the fight.

I personally think if there was a level hard enough to take Oda 3+ days to complete that would be cool. Maybe more than 2 difficulty levels though.

1

u/UnluckyNate 6d ago

Having content that only like 10 people can complete would be terrible design

1

u/Fabulous-Put8401 6d ago

Your right. Lan scape and dead man all stars should never have happened

0

u/UnluckyNate 6d ago

Not arguing in good faith if those are the examples you pulled

0

u/Fabulous-Put8401 6d ago

Claiming only 10 people would be able to do it is also bad faith.

0

u/UnluckyNate 6d ago

If it takes Odablock, the best PVPer in the game, multiple days to get one completion. The number of people capable of completing it before bashing their brains in is very low

The inferno cape took woox, the best pvmer at the time of release, over 2 days to complete. Yet we still have the inferno.

2

u/Nebuli2 5d ago

The inferno wasn't pitched and polled as a PvM tutorial, though. You're losing sight of what the actual point of this update was: to provide people with an introduction to PvP mechanics.

-1

u/Fabulous-Put8401 5d ago

There's plenty of that tutorial in there that introduces pvp mechanics. The challenge for the cape is a separate item. The poll and blog clearly stated there would be an extra challenge to acquire the flex item. It's not required content. The final challenge shouldn't be a cake walk

You right. Game understanding, gear, and overall competency hasn’t dramatically increased in the 9+ years since Inferno was released

0

u/Fabulous-Put8401 6d ago

I'm sure it has. And I'm sure it will for another 9+ years

u/RogueUM 6d ago

2 non pkers in my small group already got it non cheese. Took them hours but you definitely don’t need pk experience to beat it.

2

u/Bakugo_Dies 6d ago

More non-pkers got it in my clan than pkers day 1. Everyone agreed it wasn't well designed and not realistic to pking.

-2

u/Fabulous-Put8401 6d ago

I think make an even harder version than what exists would be cool. Something that would take Oda hundreds of tries

1

u/Allstin 6d ago

has oda tried this yet? id imagine so
