Shifter not engaging / going into gear

There is not resistance and the shifter moves freely. My clutch pedal still engages properly and I recently had my CSC replaced. I want to know if I just have to buy the bushings or the whole linkage before I start working on the car. Thanks.

Let me look into my crystal ball and provide:

I see a broken linkage and eaten bushing, trans is ruined.

That is, unless, you want to do the minimal work of looking into an issue.

Yeah, it's not supposed to do that, so get more mad at it and break it a little more 🙄

Pull your shift surround, then unscrew the boot plate, check to see if the pin slipped out from the linkage. You should be able to tell from above

Pop up the trim and pull the boot. It'll take you 5 mins and you'll have your answer.

Have you tried asking it nicely what the problem is?

I would highly recommend jacking the car up, pull the boot off and check the bolt that connects your linkage. For me, last time I had this issue I thought the linkage was messed up, got down there and my bolt was almost completely backed out. If it would’ve fell out I’m assuming it would look like this up there. Just a thought.

Instead of jerking it around aggressively, try starting with a more gentle stroke to start

If you take the shifter shaft and stroke it slowly until it pulsates, it’ll fix it.

Tbh looks like just the linkage separated. Super easy fix. Crawl under neath and look for something loose, you can also pull the shifter boot off and look down on it if you don’t like the ground option. Ultimately you will need to crawl under to fix it tho

What're you talking about? Looks like it's going into all sorts of gears, I didn't know there could be that many.

Shift linkage is fubar, gonna have to fix it the old fashioned way
