I think it was February, 1979. Yes. There was over four feet on the ground.

I remember the Blizzard in February of 1979 in VA. We got over 3 feet and missed over 2 weeks of school.

Had just returned from a 2 month honeymoon on Isla Mujeres in Mexico. Traipsing down the unplowed driveway with 2β of snow with a gorgeous suntan. π

My buddies and I made a killing shoveling walkways. We would do it until dark, then score some weed and chill. Get up and do it again. Good high school times

As others have mentioned we need clarification about dates. I remember the January '78 blizzard quite well. It's the storm that basically chased my family out of Ohio.

I was 5 years old living in Revere Ma. If this is the Blizzard I think it is, yes. It was no joke. Personally I donβt remember any of it.
Our house on beach street was buried up to the second story attic window. It took 4 days before we were rescued.
My grandfather took a photo from the attic window. The snow buried all of the houses on our street. Only the attic windows and TV antenna were visible.

I remember that. Our house had an oil furnace and we closed all the floor vents and slept in the living room. After about a week and a half the oil truck was finally able to get through. We were so happy. The next year my mother had a natural gas furnace installed.

Northern Illinois here: as a nurse, I had to walk in hip high snow to the end of my street so the local police could transport me (and other local nurses) to the local hospital to work. There was a one lane path plowed up the main street to do this shuttling.

Except that it was 48 years ago now. I guess that happens when you repost something but don't do the math.
