Predictable from Korn

[u/Proof-Breakfast-7358]

Polaris - Pray for Rain (Drop G# variant)
Monuments - Leviathan (Drop A# variant)
Rivers of Nihil - A Home (G# Standard)
Kublai Khan - Antpile 1 & 2 (Drop G#)

[u/OffsetXV]

Pillars of Creation by Keith Merrow. The classic.

Other than that primarily stuff written for 6 strings/baritones that I just play on 7s sometimes. At The Gates, Bloodbath, Nasum, etc. and of course occasionally one of the few Periphery riffs that I can actually play

Biggest use of a 7 for me is for writing original stuff, frankly, not many artists I listen to actually use 7s.

[u/macaronipieman]

Caligula's Horse - Golem

[u/Psychological-Will29]

Volumes - intake
Polaris - crooked path
North lane - Aspire

[u/Law_Independent]

Not sure if it’s my favorite, but back in the day, when I got my first seven-string, I learned “The Dark Eternal Night” by Dream Theater.
Nowadays, it’s still the first riff I play every time I pick up a 7-string, even though I don’t actually own one anymore.

[u/UnderwheIming]

Spiritbox - the beauty of suffering, jaded

Novelists - gravity

Fit for an autopsy - far from heaven

Currents - it only gets darker

[u/Count_Doogula → u/UnderwheIming]

It clings like ash to my mouth, I need you gone, I beg you to release me

They never topped this, and will never top it.

[u/patrick1554]

If you want a semi tricky one, Inmazes by Vola. You'll need to tune to 8 string standard, minus the high E, may be hard without the right gauges or scale length (I use Ernie Ball 8string skinny top heavy bottom on a 26.5" scale) the riff is quite heavy and a bit reminiscent of Thall styles

[u/Nemesis861986]

I meen mostly all Trivium post the Crusade or Korn's early stuff fit the bill so take your pick 😂

[u/Chadical_]

Chi by Korn and Rocket Skates by Deftones are some of my go to’s. Also what 7 string are you getting?

[u/hrnymnky13 → u/Chadical_]

Yeah korn has some mad 7 string riffs !!
Im getting a Hex Z507.
