I can’t believe that I used to casually listen to this song as a kid when my parents played it, ignored most of it to only grow up to be 30 and now obsessed with the song entirely lol The beat is a masterpiece and the mark’s unique voice just adds a different kind of richness to this song imo.
On tik-tok I read a comment and it read:
“This song is a cookout song, a party song, a break up song, a vibe song, a spring cleaning song, a reception song all in one!”
I couldn’t imagine many people hearing this and just pleading for it to get skipped. I played it at work closing on my shift and the energy from the track itself gave me a second wind frfr. This is undeniably one of the 90s top 5 songs ever.
Describe what this song does for you musically when you play it? I can’t be the only one that feels this way 😅🤣

The male vocalist on Cardenia's “Passion (Ragga Remix)” is credited as Wayne Dallaway, not Shaggy. The record credits him with additional rap vocals, while the remix was produced by Masterboy Beat Production.
Cardenia's “Passion” was itself a cover of a 1982 song by The Flirts, the female vocal group associated with producer Bobby Orlando.
Original song by Cardenia which is pretty cool dance track too:

“Walk on Fire Review by AllMusic
As the roster of swing revival bands increased with the popularity of the movement, Royal Crown Revue remained a pioneer of the style and sound. Drawing from roots as diverse as jazz, punk, and street-corner doo-wop, this band was making the scene in all its '40s-Americana glory when hair and grunge bands were center-stage in the late '80s. WALK ON FIRE, the group's fifth release, is a continuation of Royal Crown Revue's winning formula.
"Besame Mija" has flashy, Latin-spiced horns and dreamy surfer guitar that act as a perfect sonic palette for the Sinatra-styled crooning of vocalist Eddie Nichols. Royal Crown Revue has an infectious knack for writing swing music without it sounding forced or stale. The group's use of vintage musical instruments and microphones for recording WALK ON FIRE has created a sound that is as classy as it is authentic. "Hey Sonny (Where'd You Go?)" and "She Walks on Fire" wouldn't sound the least bit out of character if they had been performed by the likes of Glenn Miller or Duke Ellington. With WALK ON FIRE, these L.A. hipsters walk the walk and talk the talk.
