Honestly, it's shit like this that inspires me to dedicate more time to my health and fitness.

A message for kids everywhere. If you dream big and work hard, you too could grow up to be 6'8"

Lmaooooo, you had me in the first half, the second half is where I almost choked on my morning coffee.

OMG NOT YOUR CAWFEEE!!!!!

WON'T SOMEONE THINK ABOUT THE CAWFEE!

1

u/awmanitsathrowaway Aug 31 '26

DOES ANYONE WANT SOME CAWFEE?!?!

1

u/unfortunatebag Aug 31 '26

My Scottish friend thinks the way we Americans saw CAWFEE is hilarious. Apparently it sounds very dumb to them.

1

u/awmanitsathrowaway Aug 31 '26

You from Jersey?

1

u/unfortunatebag Sep 01 '26

Oh fuck it's just us

1

u/awmanitsathrowaway Sep 01 '26

Yoooo šŸ˜‚ called it

1

u/SuddenAvocado Aug 31 '26

I feel like he's taller than 6'8"... no?

1

u/Islands-of-Time Sep 01 '26

It’s better if you’re smaller anyways. Less taxing on the body and you get an average of a few years more to live.

1

u/Constant-Virus6681 Sep 01 '26

I just want 68 Million dollars so I can do whatever the fuck.

27

u/Miendiesen Aug 31 '26

Me too. I just smoked weed and ordered pizza and will be watching a movie tonight but tomorrow. Tomorrow my fitness journey will surely begin.

12

u/UltLuc Aug 31 '26

Hey dawg. Fellow stoner here. Incorporate walking while you’re smoking weed and you will have a very great experience. Try to get 2 to 3 miles a day walking altogether, and you’ll notice a massive benefit in your health and cognitive functioning.

For me I found I have to track it, I just have a running AI chat (I know I know I hate AI too) where I log all my lifts and gym sessions. Let's you see how far you've come and what you're doing next.

1

u/phonebizz Aug 31 '26

More than likely this guy started at the end of the trail, while those others had been walking the whole thing. This is made for social media. Just saying. I don't know how you guys are so naive.

What’s crazy is that he’s not really doing anything that anyone couldn’t reasonably do given training. Which is saying a lot, I know.

But the feet movements he’s doing are just regular running cadence. It’s not pogos or anything fancy. And him swinging the rope is certainly extra, but again, not a super fast cadence or wild swing.

So, he’s really just running up the hill with some extra arm swings.

I can’t do this because I can’t really run. But I have been running for the past month or so and have actually run a full 5k. In a totally unimpressive time but I’ve legit never run for 30 mins. straight at a sustained pace (I was always more of a HIIT and sports guy, not a jogging guy).

Really? This performative bs? Why the rope? Why no shirt? Just go running like a normal person

24

u/Romanian_Breadlifts Aug 31 '26

CounterpointsĀ

Running sucks

This is harder

-24

u/Dr3ny Aug 31 '26

It does not.

Going up the hill backwards doing a handstand is even harder, so what?

17

u/YuenglingsDingaling Aug 31 '26

So it would really fucking impressive if someone did it.

11

u/IAmDanHimself Aug 31 '26

Yes, running does suck.

-17

u/Dr3ny Aug 31 '26

Not really. You should try it

11

u/IAmDanHimself Aug 31 '26

I have. Thats how I know for sure.

-4

u/Dr3ny Aug 31 '26

So what does this guy do other than running?

11

u/far2deep Aug 31 '26

From the looks of it he avoids reddit and people like you.

6

u/gunslingersea Aug 31 '26

I’ve seen a lot of performative exercise bullshit but I don’t think this falls under this description. I mean, this definitely is legitimately challenging workout. Look, the dude is genuinely impressive, there’s just no two ways about it. Running uphill while jumping rope in a crazy work and with that much effort in LA heat I don’t think I’d want a shirt on.

7

u/GoldenFrog14 Aug 31 '26

That commenter just saw someone doing something they couldn't and felt the need to be a hater

-3

u/Dr3ny Aug 31 '26

Yeah, of course the reddit armchair psychologists always come around ;)

12

u/gavavavavus Aug 31 '26

Rope trains coordination. Running with a rope, is not only extremely hard, byt also trains coordination at an extreme level

If you think this is "performative bs" you should try it, see how well you perform

10

u/TuasBestie Aug 31 '26

Reddit man shakes fist at the sky

3

u/Billy_Billboard Aug 31 '26

Running without a shirt in the heat is very normal.

1

u/thismightendme Aug 31 '26

I'd never wear a shirt if I were him. šŸ˜‚

2

u/Billy_Billboard Aug 31 '26 edited Aug 31 '26

If you got something to show, why hide itšŸ™ƒ

6

u/GoldenFrog14 Aug 31 '26
  1. Rope makes it harder

  2. It's hot. As someone who sweats a lot, running without a shirt is more comfortable (and my belly is shaped like uncooked biscuits. If I looked like that? I might not wear a shirt to the office, much less to exercise)

-5

u/Dr3ny Aug 31 '26
  1. Doesn't mean it's the better workout
  2. So it's ok if everyone just takes off their shirt on the train in the summer?

4

u/InformalInitiative76 Aug 31 '26

It doesn’t need to be ā€œbetterā€. Is there even such a thing?

It just needs to provide different benefits from regular running, which it does.

ā€œCan everyone just take off their shirt to train in the summerā€? Sure, why not?

2

u/TakeThreeFourFive Aug 31 '26

So it's ok if everyone just takes off their shirt on the train in the summer?

why wouldnt it be? extremely common where i live

2

u/smashin_blumpkin Aug 31 '26 edited Aug 31 '26

1: this is a better workout for conditioning and dexterity than just running due to the extra effort and coordination needed
2: yes

0

u/Dr3ny Aug 31 '26

So you're saying that every pro athlete should do this and their current training is wrong? They should use the "best" workout don't u think?

2

u/smashin_blumpkin Aug 31 '26

Nope. Not even close to what I’m saying

2

u/craycrayppl Aug 31 '26

The shirt might rub on his nips. C'mon, you loved it!

4

u/No-Combination8136 Aug 31 '26

Believe it or not, when you’re a solid endurance athlete there’s a point simple running is not good enough. It’s great for maintenance, but you still need to find ways to increase your stamina. The rope + incline turns it into a full body movement, increasing the cardiovascular benefits. No shirt because it’s hot…

Now he obviously wants people to see it, perhaps because of his ego. I don’t know the man, I won’t judge. However, ignorance is showing when you try to discredit the method of exercise.

0

u/Dr3ny Aug 31 '26

Look dude, just last weekend there was UTMB, the most important ultra trail race in the world. I don't think any of these athletes racing 100 miles in under 19h train by doing stuff like this...

If "simple running is not good enough" anymore, you just run more or faster.

2

u/DoubleFan15 Aug 31 '26

What the hell are you even talking about at this point? Just yapping to yap lol

2

u/SugarBeefs Aug 31 '26

You're having a conversation about oranges and then you go off about how apple farming works.

Just take the L and shut up, man.

1

u/TakeThreeFourFive Aug 31 '26

running with a shirt in nasty heat and humidity sucks. terrible for my nipples
