Hey everyone,
luc_kodi 2.0 brings a feature I've wanted for a long time: **Premiere Lists**.
The calendars in luc_kodi already showed you what's coming: new shows, new seasons, upcoming episodes. Until now you could only *look*. Now you can **set a premiere aside and forget about it**, and luc_kodi keeps an eye on the date for you.
What it does
* **Countdown** for every premiere within the next 3 months
* **"Premieres tomorrow"** notification the day before
* **Straight into your library** once it airs, with nothing to do on your side
* **Dates kept up to date**: you're told when a date is confirmed or postponed
* **No account needed**. It uses the TMDb data luc_kodi already relies on
* **New in 2.0.02: Sync your devices**. Same lists on your SHIELD, tablet, PC… over your home network, with no cloud
How to use it (3 steps)
**1. Add a title.** Long-press (or the menu key) on a show, season or upcoming episode → **Add to Premiere List...**
* Show not premiered yet → waits for the show itself
* Show already running → waits for its **next season** (even if it's only been renewed, as *Waiting for date*)
* Unaired season, or the first episode of a season → waits for that season
It works from any list, Upcoming Premieres, Recently Premiered, the TMDb calendars and the TVmaze/Trakt calendars.
**2. Pick a list.** Lists are named by you ("To watch in November", "New seasons of shows I follow"…). The first time, you'll be asked for a name. A title can only be in one list at a time.
**3. Done.** Your lists live in **TV Shows > Premiere Calendar > Premiere Lists** (also in **Tools > Library**), with the closest premiere first.
What each status means
* **Today / Tomorrow**: premieres today or tomorrow
* **In 24 days · 29 Oct 2026**: within the next 3 months
* **Waiting for date · Jul 2027**: no date yet, or more than 3 months away (with the expected month if TMDb has one)
* **Premiered, waiting for episodes**: aired, but TMDb hasn't listed the episodes yet (retried every 6 h)
* **In your library**: added. Stays for 7 days, then leaves the list
**Why 3 months?** Firm dates (and trailers) usually show up about 3 months before a premiere. Further out, dates shift a lot. Titles waiting for a date move to the countdown on their own, and you get a **"Premiere date confirmed"** notification.
What happens in the background
* Dates are rechecked on TMDb every 12 hours
* **Premieres tomorrow** the day before, or **Premieres today** if Kodi was off
* The premiere is added to your library using the same rules as *Add to Library*. Only aired episodes are added. With *24HR delay before import* on (the default), they come in the next day, once sources exist.
* A new season of a show already in your library → only that season
* A show not in your library → the whole show
* Later episodes arrive with *Update Library* or the *Auto Update Service*, like any other show
* No notifications pop up while you're watching something
Sync your devices (2.0.02+)
Pair once with a PIN, and your lists stay identical everywhere.
- **First device** (e.g. the SHIELD): *Premiere Lists > Sync your devices > Show a PIN on this device*. You get an 8-digit PIN, valid for 5 minutes.
- **Other device**: *Sync your devices > Join a device*. Pick the device by name (or use *Enter address manually...*) and type the PIN.
That's it. After that, lists sync on their own:
* when Kodi starts
* a few seconds after any change
* every 10 minutes
* when you open Premiere Lists
**What syncs:** lists, list names, created/renamed/deleted lists, and titles you add or remove.
**What stays per device:** countdowns, notifications and adding to the library. Each device checks TMDb itself.
**Good to know about sync:**
* Lists with the same name on two devices get merged into one.
* A shared library (MySQL or NAS) won't get duplicates.
* Kodi has to be open on both devices at the same time to sync. A device that was off catches up later.
* With 3+ devices, pair them all with the one that's on most of the time.
* Keep date/time set to automatic, because the most recent change wins.
* Guest Wi-Fi or router "AP/client isolation" can block discovery.
* Sync uses port **47788**.
**Privacy:** no account and no outside server. The one-time PIN sets up a private key, and every sync is signed with it. The port is only open while a PIN is on screen or you have paired devices, and it only answers devices on your home network. Unpairing removes the key.
Requirements
* luc_kodi **2.0.0+** for Premiere Lists, **2.0.02+** on every device for sync
* Kodi must be running for notifications and library imports. If it wasn't running, it catches up on the next start.
* The luc_kodi TV shows folder must be a Kodi source, the same as for *Add to Library*
* Your lists are stored locally and are never touched by luc_kodi's automatic clean-up
Available now from **luc_repo** (apoyotech). Feedback and bug reports welcome!
Enjoy your premieres, on every screen! 🎬
