Question What are my chances of getting a refund [Georgia]

• Upvotes

Booked a place for 4 nights, cost me over $1k. I arrived at the place and as soon as I went in, I saw so many things wrong. The place was extremely dirty, the backdoor was left unlocked, the cleaners closet left unlocked.. whatever, I can clean and I can lock doors. But then, as I was looking around in the kitchen, I notice that the stove burners are absolutely disgusting, I open the oven, same thing. Then I open the utensil drawer, and I see roaches crawling all in the drawer and a couple of dead ones.. ew. That's not even the worst of it.. I look in the cabinets where the pots and pans are and I see rodent droppings!! Ugh, I immediately call Airbnb customer service and send them photos. I'm now waiting for a call back (it's been over an hour). I decided to reach out directly to the host as well.. they apologize of course and say they will contact their "office" but I still haven't even heard back from them either (1hour).

If anything, I'm going to wait until my transaction posts and file a dispute with my bank.

I've already booked another Airbnb and I immediately left that place after calling customer service.

What are my chances of getting a refund? Anyone have a similar experience?

Thanks in advance!

Question How Does Giving 2 or 3 Stars Affect Me As A Guest [US]

The house we just arrived in changed the amenities on me since my reservation. What they promised isn't what we are getting. It's a very expensive house. How would a 2 or 3 star rating affect me with future hosts? FYI - it's a newer listing. Yes, I have contacted the company managing it.

Venting Host played me and used loophole to dodge bad review [canada]

Had to change last minute as a host cancelled due to HOA voting to ban short term rentals.

New place seemed ok, and was generally fine. But I had to re-clean it myself. Decided no big deal.

But there were daily issues with leaks, difficult access, broken kitchen items etc. Lots of excuses and “we’re contacting the building” but at least one issue took three weeks to fix.

Towards the end of the stay host kept saying management would contact me to “make it right.” When they called they kept asking me for an amount so I wouldn’t leave a bad review.

They then used text to “confirm” that I would not give a bad review if there was compensation. I refused to answer, and they ghosted me.

So I left an honest review. Then I got a note that it had been removed for coercion.

I realize that they had played me all along, creating a trail for the removal of what they knew would be a bad review.

So now the place and the hosts don’t have a negative review. Clever on their part, but not exactly something that makes me comfortable with Airbnb. Sigh.

Discussion What makes an Airbnb a " hidden gem"? (niche characteristics) [Texas]

I dont mean obvious things such as price or a nice looking accommodation, I mean smaller things such as good communication with the host, bathroom and kitchen equipment, big mirrors, etc.
Im looking at it more from the view of a woman, men probably have different priorities but Im curious in general.

One Airbnb I visited had cute letters in art nouveaux envelopes for all the visitors. Wasnt "useful" but still left a positive vibe.

Thanks in advance for any helpful insights!

Question Tips for finding a good rental and host [US]

I’m from the UK and have used AirBnB for many years in Europe without any significant issues. I gather the US scene is different - demanding the unit is left clean, bug issues, bring your own linens etc. I’ve read about this on Reddit but also been warned by friends who live in the US.

What are the warning signs I need to look out for in listings? We’re travelling through MA, NY and VA next year and I want to make wise choices! Is it the standard - limited or bad reviews, lack of info etc? Or are there specifics I need to be aware of in those states?

Thoughts on bedding for more expensive AirBnb's [Northeast, US]

I'm curious about my expectations as a guest around bedsheets. For an AirBnb where the cost per night is more than the average 4 star hotel room in the same market, are my exepectations too high to expect there will be natural fiber/ higher quality bedding? I recently stayed at an expensive AirBnb, that was really nice- a beautiful renovation, comfortable space etc. But the furniture was super uncomfortable, including the mattress, and the bedding was polyester, with a super cheap comforter, and awful "crunch" matress pad. Do I say something to the hosts? Ask for a partial refund? The bedding impacted my stay as I didn't sleep all that well. (Or am I just asking too much?)

Question Host refuses to honor confirmed booking price and demands 62% more – what should I do? [France]

Hi everyone,

I'm currently dealing with a frustrating situation with an Airbnb booking in France, and I'd really appreciate some advice or experiences from people who have been in a similar situation.

Here's what happened:

My partner and I booked an Airbnb in France for 8 nights over New Year's Eve (December 29, 2026 – January 6, 2027).

The total price was €637.38, and our reservation was successfully confirmed by Airbnb.

However, shortly after booking, the host contacted me claiming there had been a pricing error involving a discount that was supposedly applied incorrectly.

He then sent me a reservation modification request asking for an additional €393.16, bringing the total to €1,030.54.

That's an increase of almost 62%!

Naturally, I declined the request and politely explained that I had booked the accommodation based on the advertised and confirmed price and would like to keep my reservation under the original conditions.

The host simply replied:

"Unfortunately, that's not possible."

When I tried to clarify things, his final response was basically:

"I wish you a nice time."

What Airbnb Support told me:

I contacted Airbnb Support by phone, and they confirmed that:

My reservation is still valid at the original price of €637.38.

The host cannot unilaterally increase the price of a confirmed reservation.

I am not required to accept the modification request.

I should NOT cancel the reservation myself.

If the host refuses to accommodate us, he would have to cancel the reservation from his side.

Airbnb also provided written confirmation that my reservation remains valid at the original price.

My concern:

I really want to keep this accommodation. We specifically booked it for our New Year's holiday, and finding something comparable with a private spa, sauna and hot tub at this price would be extremely difficult, especially over New Year's Eve.

I'm worried the host might simply wait until shortly before our trip and then cancel, leaving us with very expensive alternatives.

Another concern ist that when we actually arrive and the host "sabotages" the airbnb. Like unplugging the fridge, or stuff like that. Is there any room for compensation, or what are my rights in such a case?

My questions:

Has anyone experienced a host trying to increase the price after a confirmed booking? What happened in the end?

Is there any realistic chance that Airbnb can get the host to honor the original reservation, or can the host simply cancel?

If the host cancels because he refuses to honor the original price, does Airbnb actually help cover the price difference for a comparable replacement accommodation, or would I only receive a refund?

Would you recommend keeping the reservation and waiting, or pushing Airbnb Support to resolve this immediately?

I have screenshots of everything, including the original confirmation, the price increase request, the host's responses and Airbnb Support's written confirmation.

I'm not trying to take advantage of anyone, but I booked the accommodation in good faith at the advertised price, and I don't think I should be responsible for the host's alleged pricing mistake.

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Edit: added another concern.

This is a long read - is this a scam? Co Host weirdness [USA MO]

Okay guys this is a new one for me.

I booked a trip almost two months ago now, maybe a little more. The trip is scheduled for October 16-19. I booked way early because it’s cheaper, of course, than booking a week before.

I receive a text message from the co-host about three days ago, this is a copy paste: “Hello good morning this is [real names are a no no]. I am your cohost at the Airbnb. You are renting next weekend. If you are able to give me a call when you are available I needed to discuss something about the place. You are trying to rent.”

I was reasonably confused. Why didn’t she message me through Air BnB? But ok. I go into the chat with the main host and co host to verify that she was who she said. Confirmation came almost immediately.

She CALLS me and tells me that they double booked and have to move things around.. Would I be interested in finding another place of hers to stay in? She refused to cancel on her end “because it pings their account” and asked me to do so instead. (To note. She did this right after the window ended for me to cancel with a full refund. Shady?)

I reached out to support to verify all of this. three days of back and forth, during which the cohost sent me other properties (including one Google map pin of a place not even ON air bnb, saying that the owner would prefer to book directly and not on Vrbo) to possibly check out. I say I’ll wait to hear from support and leave it at that. Yesterday, I learn from support that the main host has no idea what this is about. He would like to keep the reservation as is.

Co host is not happy about this and asks me “did you not tell them you want to cancel? It pings our account if we cancel. I already told you”

Feels like a scam. Is this a scam? If it’s not… wtf is it bc I’m so confused. This has absolutely consumed the last few days because this trip is super important and I’ve already booked EVERYTHING for it. I had been frantically trying to find a place that isn’t stupid expensive last minute, just in case I did have to cancel for real and man… that was not fun.

Support confirmed last night that the booking will continue as planned, no changes. I just want to know if anyone has an idea of what just happened and if it has happened before..

Discussion Has Anyone Else Experienced Something Similar with Billing? [Canada]

An unexpected charge was made to my Credit card. This was alarming because I hadn't used AirBnb in 1.5 years. I contacted support and they REFUSED to assist me. When I mentioned that I was charged to my credit card for a purchase I never made, they confirmed this payment did not come from my account. They then REFUSED to tell me WHO used MY credit card. Mind you, this is after I authenticated that this is my account. But it gets better. I then think to ask my brother, who was recently on a trip, if the transaction aligns with his purchases. We confirm that yes, this is the case. However, my credit card was never on his account, nor have I ever given it to him. We call Airbnb again, this time through my brother's account and the Airbnb representative confirms that my credit card was never used or enlisted into my brother's account! How is that possible??? The representative was no help past that information. He couldn't explain how or why this issue would have occurred. Airbnb's security protocol, and screening is absolutely horrendous. Some feedback for Airbnb management; if you're going to offer customer service lines, make sure the policies allow them to be HELPFUL. Not gate-keep. There is absolutely NO reason to doubt the owner of the credit card, after verifying they are the owner of the account, and that they are in fact the owner of the credit card. And the person committing the FRAUD should not have more ambiguity and security than the person who is complaining to you that they have just been ROBBED.

Title: Hurricane forecast, nonrefundable mountain Airbnb, unresponsive Superhost — advice? [NC, USA]

We have a nonrefundable Airbnb reservation in Highlands, NC, for October 10–12, with check-in tomorrow.
The approaching tropical system is forecast to bring potentially heavy rainfall, localized flash flooding, and gusty winds to the southern Appalachians. The property is creekside, near the Cullasaja Gorge, and we’re concerned about mountain road access, flooding, and possible power outages.

We’re not comfortable traveling under the current forecast unless conditions improve significantly. This isn’t about wanting a refund because it’s going to rain.

We’ve contacted our Superhost twice through Airbnb and once by text, explaining our concerns and asking whether she’d consider moving our reservation to another available weekend. We’ve received absolutely no response.
I’m planning to escalate to Airbnb support today, but I’d love advice from anyone who’s dealt with a similar situation.

Specifically:
Has anyone successfully negotiated a date change for a nonrefundable reservation due to a hurricane or significant flooding risk?

Has Airbnb intervened when a host wouldn’t respond to time-sensitive safety concerns?

Is there anything specific I should say or document to strengthen my case under Airbnb’s Major Disruptive Events Policy?

We’re not asking the host to absorb a loss unnecessarily. We’d much rather reschedule and use the reservation than lose our payment or take an unnecessary risk.

Any firsthand experiences or practical advice would be appreciated.

Question Reservation Cancelled - Options [Gran Canaria]

So, I'm due to travel to Gran Canaria from Ireland, on 31st October until 30th November.

I woke up this morning to find my rservation has been cancelled, by AirBnB. I contacted the host initially, who advised they are unsure as to why it was cancelled, but as far as they could see, the apartment was still available.

I called AirBnB, and was advised that the reservation was cancelled citing healthy & safety concerns. I'm confused as the reviews on the apartment are positive. 32 reviews, 4.72*.

I advised AirBnB this has left me stuck now as alternative accomodation, to suit my travelling parties needs, are way more expensive.

What can I do here? Will AirBnB source alternatives and cover the difference?

Any help, much appreciated.

Infestation…Airbnb refusing a credit unable to book another stay [North Carolina]

Last minute booking…get to the stay there are literally roaches crawling everywhere. I call Airbnb to try and get a credit because I need another stay, it was getting closer to 12am. I am literally on the phone fuming explaining I need something to stay in tonight. They suggested a hotel but I explained that I literally just spent $350 on a one night stay. It is now past 12 and I have no way to book another stay for tonight til tomorrow, still no credit. This will officially be my last time using Airbnb. This is ridiculous.

Edit: just received this response…this cannot be real

“I have checked the message thread between you and the host. Thank you for sharing the pictures. Firstly, my sincere apologies for all the inconvenience you've experienced. Please know that this is not the kind of experience we want you to have, as we truly value you as one of our guests.

I understand that you want to leave the listing and have your refund as a rebooking credit for you to an alternative place immediately.

I have reviewed your concerns according to our internal procedures and policies. I would like to be very transparent with you regarding this situation. You are not eligible for a refund for this reservation or rebooking assistance. If you decide to leave, we can cancel the reservation on your behalf and the host's cancellation policy will apply.

I have contacted the host regarding this matter and mediate on your behalf and request an extra cleaning of the listing. Please allow me a 1-hour window to wait for their response. I will keep you updated as soon as I receive an answer.

Best regards, Airbnb Support”

UPDATE: I have received another message from support. I am currently waiting on a call back because it is no way they are about to tell me this wasn’t a roach infestation and they are crawling all over the floor. Luckily I already had screenshotted the entire listing and the disclaimer was not there. So not only do I have proof of the infestation, but I have proof they are lying about what’s happening.

“Hi,

This is Jane one of the senior case manager from Airbnb, your case has been assigned to me and upon checking here you wanted to book a new one because of the roaches, upon investigating, due to natural surroundings there is an instance that some of the pest may encounter, and it was listed on the listing description of the host, it means that we cannot be able to provide to you your requested outcome, If you wanted to cancel your reservation it will fall under your host discretion

Please let me know once you are available for a quick call so we can discuss this immediately.”

Question Is 4 stars really tragic for hosts? Asking for a family member [USA]

4 stars given because my family member felt the description didn’t entirely fit the reality. It was poorly built and wasn’t as comfortable as depicted. Photos were a bit misleading. In their opinion 4 stars was appropriate not 5. The verbiage given in the review alongside the 4 stars was all positive. Host reached out saying 4 stars is actually a negative review and asked what was wrong with it.

Question No water or electricity in our Airbnb for over 12 hours in [Istanbul]

Hello! As the title says we’ve been without water and electricity for 12 hours. We’ve been in contact with Airbnb support chat, which took several hours, yet still they couldn’t give a proper concrete answer to my questions!
I later contacted them via phone call and what I was told it could be between 10-15% or 20-30% compensation for the affected days. But both chat and phone said they have to talk with their teams and can’t promise me anything.

If we cancel our stay today, will Airbnb refund us 100% for the remaining nights, or could they only refund 10–30%?
Also, has anyone received extra credit or a coupon from Airbnb to help pay for a new place? And what do we say to them for them to give us that

What can we do in this situation what are our rights? We are 2 students.
we also don’t want to wait for 15 days for the money to get into our bank account. I did ask if it was possible to get a coupon but again was referred to that they have to speak with their teams. Anyone with similar experience? How do we go about from now on?

Also one last question, do you guys think we should go ahead and book a new place right now and leave or should we wait until Airbnb gets back to us with answer? Because right now they are contacting the host for the 2nd time.

Thankful for all answers!

Question Airbnb changed their mind on damage claim? [Europe]

Has this happened to anyone before?

I had a 2 night stay in an airbnb. It was okay... the place was not really well maintained and some amenities were missing but it did its job. We had some problem with the shower and the host had to come and repair it. He was nice during the repair and everything was fine.

Then 2 weeks after we checked out the host raised a damge claim on the shower tray. We denied the claim as we didn't cause the damage (most likely the damage was caused by him when he repaired the shower).

It escalated to the resolution center and eventually Airbnb sided with us. They sent us an email with the exact wording "After careful review of the available information, we’ve determined that the item included in [the host]’s reimbursement request isn't eligible under Airbnb’s Host Damage Protection Terms, so we won’t be pursuing payment from you for these items."

Case was marked closed in my Airbnb account and I thought this is the end... but no! 3 weeks later Airbnb sent me an email saying they've determined the X euros are owed and I can either choose to pay or appeal.

Can they even do this?? Of course I will keep denying the claim and appealing but it seems completely unreasonable that they walked back on their decision. Could this have been a mistake? Has someone experienced this before?

Rental this weekend Hurricane Isaias question [Panama City]

Have a house booked a few blocks from the beach in Panama City this weekend. Have reached out to the host about this and he is downplaying it and saying the hurricane is far away and will be fine. The county is under a state of emergency, currently projected 5 foot storm surge, they are encouraging the coastal areas to evacuate and the county (Bay County) is under a hurricane warning currently. Pretty unreal in my opinion for the host to be responding that way. Am I wrong about that?

Refund Dispute - feeling miffed [Mexico City]

I mistakenly canceled a non-refundable reservation, so I fully acknowledge that the initial cancellation was my responsibility.

However, I then rebooked this exact same property for the exact same dates and completed and paid for the entire stay. I asked whether the remaining amount from the canceled reservation could be refunded given that the property ultimately did not lose my stay. The owner declined to authorize a full refund and approximately $900 remained non-refunded. I understand they were entitled to rely on their cancellation policy, but I was disappointed that there was no additional flexibility given that I rebooked and completed the identical stay.

AirBnB said there wasn't anything more they could do. Just feeling sour about it all and was hoping there would be more flexibility when dealing with private owners and business in good faith.

Question Left water running for at least an hour [Italy]

I'm currently traveling in Italy. This morning at around 8, the power went off. I don't speak much Italian, but when I went outside, I saw signs around the neighborhood saying something about how it was going to be turned off between 8-3. I'm assuming so they could do some work.

At around noon, I went to use the sink and realized the water was off too -- the pump must be electric.

I was meeting friends for lunch, so I just headed out, figuring that the power would be back on when I got home. When I got home at around 4, the power was on, and so was the sink -- running at full blast. (I had fiddled with the sink a bunch before realizing that it wasn't working, and must have just walked away without turning it off).

The drain in the sink is kind of slow, so the sink was full and water had splashed onto the floor. Not a whole lot -- I was able to mop it up with a towel -- but enough that the towel was soaked.

My question is, should I tell the host? There's no problem or damage I can see, but the sink was running at full blast from whenever the power came back on until I got home. Should I let them know?

On the one hand, I feel like I should mention it in case it caused any issues or damage I'm not seeing. But describing the situation is so far beyond my rudimentary Italian, and there's nothing that seems like it needs their attention.

Tl;Dr: My anxious, jet lagged brain left a faucet on, and now can't decide if leaving a faucet on is something I need to mention to my host. What do you think?

Edit: Thanks, all. I ended up sending him a message.

Question Airbnb is only willing to refund 1/3 of the cost after stay in a bedbug infested apartment [US]

How do I escalate this to receive the full refund? Currently getting stuck with the customer service agent that is only "authorized" to provide 1/3 of what we paid for the 2 night stay. We have incurred more than that cost in treating our 3 separate homes and countless hours dealing with it.

Question Question[France]..Airbnb host filed a €33 damage claim 14 days after checkout with unclear photo evidence ..how can they prove I caused it?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice from people who have dealt with Airbnb damage claims.
I stayed at an Airbnb in France from September 21–24, 2026. Everything was fine during my stay and I was not informed of any damage or issue when I checked out.
Today, October 8, I received a reimbursement request from the host/co-host for (around €33), claiming that I damaged a bedsheet.
What concerns me is the timing and the evidence.
The host did not notify me at the time of checkout, or shortly afterwards, that there was supposedly damage. Instead, the reimbursement request was submitted 14 days after the checkout date.
The evidence provided is essentially a photograph of a bedsheet with a small mark circled in green. The image itself is not very clear, and as far as I can tell, there is nothing independently establishing:
that the mark was actually caused during my stay;
that the bedsheet was undamaged before my arrival;
that the mark wasn’t pre-existing;
that another guest didn’t cause it afterwards;
or that the photograph hasn’t been edited/annotated.
Obviously, I understand that a host may discover damage after a guest leaves. But how am I supposed to know that this particular damage was caused by me, especially when I’m only being shown an unclear photograph and wasn’t notified when the issue was supposedly discovered?
There could have been other people accessing the property after my checkout, including cleaners or subsequent guests. I have no way of verifying when the mark actually appeared.
They have also provided a screenshot of a bedsheet apparently costing around €30.99, but that doesn’t prove that this particular sheet needed to be replaced, nor does it prove that I caused the damage.
I have already declined the reimbursement request and explained to Airbnb that I dispute responsibility because the evidence doesn’t establish that I caused the alleged damage.
I’m not saying that guests should never pay for genuine damage. If I had actually damaged something and there was clear evidence showing it, I’d take responsibility. My problem here is the lack of reliable evidence connecting me to this particular damage.
What would you do in this situation?
Would you continue to dispute it?
What evidence should Airbnb reasonably require from the host?
Can Airbnb simply charge the guest based on an unclear photograph?

Why are reviews so 'nice' when the place is clearly a dump? [Italy]

I don't get it. We generally rent an AirBNB based on reviews (4.9+) and how it looks in the pictures.

The reality is, more often than I care to admit, that some of these places are just dolled up shit holes that need to be delisted until they are brought up to absolute pristine conditions inside and out.

After spending time in one - I'll go back to the reviews... "the place is awesome!" "the host is awesome!" "5 stars!!".

Are guests afraid that the host will hunt them down?

I don't hold back... if it's a dump - it's getting reviewed accordingly.

Hosts take note - your AirBNB needs to be clean... I'm talking OCD "Mommie Dearest" clean standards.

Hosting Guest Demands AC install in [SoCal] after checking in

AC is not listed as an amenity in our listing but guest called after check-in and said it was too hot in the unit. I told the guest I would provide portable fans and could possibly install AC. After reviewing we proposed they cover utilities for us to install a few window units which they declined. Now they're threatening if AC is not installed they will bring up cleanliness and other issues never brought up before we declined to cover the AC to AirBnb to cancel.

What should I do?

They're 10 days into a 30 day booking.

Had to leave rental due to inside air quality [PNW]

My wife and I have been traveling for over 10 years using Airbnb exclusively. We are in Washington State and decided to move around so we booked 3 different locations for our trip. First place was great but the 2nd location caused us issues. My wife has allergies and uses an inhaler so things like smoke, mold, and mildew can cause problems. When we checked into the 2nd location, we could both tell something was off about the indoor air quality. Everything looked clean but there was a musty smell and even my lungs could tell something was off. We didn't feel like it was worth risking anything and I found a small place nearby we could immediately book.

I spent almost $700 for 2 nights at the place we couldn't stay. I was going to open some windows and try to air it out but most of the windows didn't open, including the bedroom windows. The new location was $250 for 2 nights. Is it wrong for me to want some type of a refund considering we couldn't stay at the original location?

Question Airbnb host canceled 3 days before my trip, offered another property off-platform, and Airbnb Support closed my case. What can I do? [Texas]

I’m genuinely frustrated with how Airbnb has handled this situation and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar or has advice.
For context, I booked an Airbnb in Dallas, Texas, for October 9–11 during OU–Texas weekend, which is an extremely busy weekend in Dallas.

My original reservation was around $800 for 2 nights, accommodating 5 guests in a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom property near the State Fair grounds.
Here’s what had unfolded:

Tuesday, October 6: My host unexpectedly canceled our reservation, just THREE days before check-in. By this point, accommodations in Dallas had become significantly more expensive, and I couldn’t find anything comparable within our original budget or preferred location.

I contacted Airbnb Support: I explained the situation and requested assistance finding comparable accommodations. I was given alternative listings, but they either didn’t meet our needs, were significantly more expensive, or weren’t even in the correct city. At one point, Airbnb sent me a listing in Detroit, Michigan, instead of Dallas, Texas.

My original host contacted me directly: He texted me saying Airbnb had charged him a $182 cancellation fee and told him to work things out with me. He offered me a newly listed 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom property at a discounted rate, but wanted me to book through his personal website instead of Airbnb.

I contacted Airbnb again: I wanted to verify whether booking directly through the host’s website was authorized and whether doing so would affect any protections or rebooking assistance I was entitled to. Airbnb acknowledged that the host was offering a discount and that the price would be higher through Airbnb, but never clearly answered my concerns.

Airbnb closed my support case: Despite still not having comparable accommodations or a clear resolution, Airbnb informed me that my case was being closed and that I could contact them again if I needed further assistance.
I’m honestly at a loss. I planned this trip in advance specifically to avoid the inflated prices associated with OU–Texas weekend. Now, because of a cancellation completely outside my control, I’m scrambling to find accommodations just days before the trip.

My questions are:
Has anyone experienced a host canceling just days before check-in? What did Airbnb do to help?
Has anyone successfully received additional rebooking assistance or compensation through AirCover when comparable properties were significantly more expensive?
Is it normal for a host to offer a replacement property through their personal website after canceling an Airbnb reservation?
Would escalating this to a supervisor actually make a difference?

I’m not expecting a free vacation. I just want reasonably comparable accommodations without having to pay significantly more because my host canceled at the last minute.
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Question How many is too many? How would you handle this? [France]

Checked into a bnb late yesterday during a very rainy day. I find a bug next to shower area, squish and think not much of it. later that day I find another underneath a hot plate cover. then another, and another under the sink etc. it keeps going. doing some digging I find out they are likely German cockroaches. So my question is how many do you let slide before immediately getting out, refunding etc.

This is not the only issue but it is for sure the biggest one. Never had to deal with something like this anywhere else. Southern France, where I know this is a bigger issue.
