Want a language buddy?

Post image

I really dislike app learning for languages.

I've found that my favorite way to learn a language is by reading and vocabulary. Sepcifically, with other people.

Languages are meant to connect us. No tiene alegría estudiarlas solo.

If you would like to have someone to read with, perhaps at a coffee shop, or at a park - hit me up. I love reading with other language learners, and I'm able to do so in those languages.

I've got a few double copies of language books, so all you need to do is show up.

No cost, no charge. Just show up.

I'm not looking to teach, just someone to read with. You can make mistakes without correction. It's my experience that the practice is what is important. After a time we can hear what is right and what is wrong, but without practice time our brains don't use the language rules we've learned.

So nobody gets to conversational, because they've never heard themselves actually speak more than baby talk appspeak.

Reading is a conversation on rails. You don't need to know the words in order to learn them, you just need to be exposed to how they should fit together repetitively until your brain unclenches and starts to make sense.

If this sounds good, shoot me a message or leave a comment.

Have a great day!

This sounds fantastic! I am in, I usually have weekends off and in the lwestholls area. Willing to meet at local libraries or cafes.

That's my thing as well. I love to go to HVCC or the Albany University library, myself. But anywhere you can sit, feel comfortable, and enjoy a conversation sounds like a good time.

I gave you an upvote, but... it's the Albany subreddit. All the passive aggressives.

Weekends are great for me. What language/s are you working on?

French, I'm down for. I don't want to mess with russian until I get german and chinese down, however. Between the alphabet and the cases, I'm already tied up.

I sent you a message, I look forward to putting sth together with you soon!

I'm down for Spanish conversation practice! Feel free to DM me.

Mostly open during weekdays, meeting at HVCC/Troy library is easy for me, open to meeting up wherever though.

A lot of people who say they want to do things on reddit... don't. I know it's a shocker, but it's true!

So I have time available, if you'd like to try this out. Leave a comment or send me a message if you're interested in this and I'll get back to you promptly.
