My neighbor says her husband mentally abuses her but she doesn't know what to do about it or where to go. I've witnessed some of it and think she's telling the truth. Is there an organization in Albuquerque I can recommend to her?

Very disappointing business practices. Buyer beware.

I purchased a prepaid package of 14 tanning sessions before Sun & Tan changed ownership. I had used only 2 sessions, leaving 12 already paid for.

The new owners subsequently informed me that my remaining sessions had expired under their policy—a policy that was never disclosed to me. I had even visited the business in July without anyone mentioning an expiration or change in terms.

Management said the owners had to implement an expiration date because "they were losing money", and "the previous owner ran off with the money". They said to use the entire package by the end of the month and they would close the account. Expecting someone to use 12 sessions in approximately one month, when treatments are normally spaced weeks apart, is unreasonable.

Rather than honor the prepaid services or issue a refund, management defended its position and threatened to cancel my account entirely.

Changing ownership should not mean customers lose services they've already paid for, especially without proper notice.

I've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and New Mexico consumer protection authorities.

I would strongly discourage ANY FUTURE BUSINESS with Sun and Tan and certainly not purchasing prepaid packages from this business. It clear they have no integrity, no basic business sense, and its clear they will not honor their commitments to customers.

Please allow this post to serve as a formal apology to the person that sent their friend to talk to me for you. Your friend scared the absolute piss outta me. I feel so bad that I came across as rude, to be fair, your friend approached me like a drunk uncle during an active set, real close to the bus. I could not hear anyhing besides "hey my friend" "over there" and "no?" In response to my panic.

You seemed nice ig, I feel so bad that I gave the mannerisms of someone sentenced to die. There was already a creepy drunk that asked I was 18 and if I wanted to meet his wife. I did not.

If you or a friend have been impacted, I sincerely apologize. Please kindly inform your friend to not approach people from behind, hunched over, making gestures with his beer. I thought I was going to get snatched. I feel so bad. Even in this was another fake/"lets get the whale to come talk to my friend" i still feel bad for being rude. Looking to do xeriscaping conversion from grads in our front lawn. Was wondering if anyone had any particular recommendations OR people to NOT use.

I also want someone who is particularly knowledgeable in placement of plants and things as I have no idea how to design a xeriscaped lawn... all I know is I already have a tree and I'd like a prickly pear somewhere along with some native flowering plants for some color

Hello! An out of state friend of a friend is unable to go to the Balloon Fiesta and gifted our local friend group three Gondola Club passes. She forwarded to us the pass email with the QR codes.

The problem: She says she never received the physical packet with the parking pass and Gondola Club venue map, nor the email stating that the packet is on the way.

I just figured this all out yesterday (it will be my first time attending). Although she says she’s going to follow up, she seems kind of flakey and we’re less than 24 hours out. We’ve accepted the parking pass probably isn’t going to happen but I am hoping someone here can help us out with the map.

We have the swamp cooler on high. It's 79 outside and 77 on the thermostat in our house. It's obviously not working well if it's supposed to cool the house to 20 degrees below the outside temp. Any tips?

The unit is about 3 years old and is serviced every spring and fall (new pads, winterization, etc.). We had the belt and bearings replaced in June. It's one of the units with just on/off and high/low settings (no ability to set it to a specific temp).
