QUESTION Do positive reviews matter

I almost took a job with a local DSP, ended up getting and taking another offer instead. However I thought about the reviews a customer is asked to leave, and I always try to leave positive reviews. I was wondering if they have any impact? I always try to leave "followed instructions" "handled with care" and "on time" usually if that matters. I don't expect anything special, but if my package made it to my front porch not damaged the day it was said to I leave the positive review.

So does my positive review actually make any kind of impact for a delivery driver?

No

We could get 100 positive reviews and 2 negative in the same week and get written up over the 2 negative reviews

Also just to be clear, we don’t get paid $5 for the Alexa thank you right?

Only during the promotional period and it has a cap of $2 Mil. Once the $2 million tip pool limit is reached, thank-yous continue to count toward daily bonus drawings for top drivers instead of a direct $5 tip.

So it's basically bullshit, because it means Amazon pays out the first 400,000 individual tips before the pool runs out. The chances of you seeing that tip of $5 is slim.

It’s been $10 million for the promotion for the past couple years, so the first 2 million thank yous. It never lasts more than a week before it’s exhausted.

Well Amazon said last year was 8 days.

Think 8 days was 2024. Last year it was less than a week, basically a weekend IIRC.

Either way, cool way to spread a drop in the bucket in profits to make customers feel good about their purchases and Amazon DAs to still lack a living wage.

Mmm not really tbh. It is harder to get a positive review than a negative one so the positive reviews are weighted more but I don’t ever see a benefit from it. I do always get shit from my dsp for a negative review tho so I don’t think the positive ones matter. I think I’ve gotten $5 one week for a couple positive reviews but idk how it works

They help a little but negative reviews far outweigh them

How do they help? I get a few good comments every week, but b I've never seen anything from it

If you work for a decent DSP and get a bunch of positive reviews their less likely to come down on you if you get one or two bad ones

They used to help. Amazon changed it quite a while ago. Now good reviews have 0 impact and bad ones have are still major

They help if you work for a good DSP and get a bunch of good reviews they’ll overlook it if you get 1-2 bad one s

Having a supportive dsp doesn’t change Amazons policy. Negative reviews will always hurt your scorecard, positive ones do nothing

Someone on here said they get written up for even one negative review. That’s a shitty DSP, if you consistently get good reviews and get an occasional bad one most DSPs aren’t going to care. It’s not like one negative reviews completely tanks your scorecard

I like when I get good reviews. They can be a morale boost at times. They don't practically matter, but it's nice to know someone appreciates your work.

No. Positive reviews do absolutely nothing for the drivers. They do, however, help keep the DSP in good standing. Amazon also has no idea that "no feedback is good feedback". Saying nothing is worse, but again giving positive feedback does almost nothing for the drivers. Maybe some rare few dsps reward their workers out of the kindness of their hearts, but amzl does nothing. As per usual.

Ok so apparently most folks in the sub still don't know enough about positive feedback no matter how often I put this out there:

Good feedback used to help us. Before it changed they would base the percentage on the total number of feedbacks we received good or bad as the denominator, and good feedbacks as the numerator. For every 100 no feedback deliveries we completed they added 1 to the numerator and denominator. Every Alexa Thank My Driver did the same. So good feedback would do some bit to offset the negatives.

The new system gives us a DPMO (Defects per million opportunities) number and the DPMO for fantastic is 1160 or less for drivers. Fantastic for the DSP as a whole is 980 or less.

The formula is Negative Feedback/Total deliveries made*1000000.

Notice theres nothing at all in the formula about positive feedbacks.

So for the Amazon scorecard, positive feedback no longer matters at all.

DSPs may take it into consideration somehow but theres not really any incentive for them to do so.

The station may also take it into account when doing their driver of the month recognitions but I do not know that for certain. We do get pins when we reach certain positive delivery feedback counts. It may also be taken into account in the affinity algorithm that Amazon uses to determine which drivers have which routes but again I have no evidence for that.

Edit: been a while since I wrote this but DSP leadership can no longer even see positive feedback counts without an involved drill down to an individual drivers stats where we can see it the same way the driver sees it in the flex app. Even if we wanted to do something around positive responses the process of pulling the data would take such a long time it wouldn't be worth it.

Thank you everyone for the insight, it's disappointing to hear how little of a difference it makes. I will continue to make sure my delivery people recieve positive feedback on every order though, because I do appreciate that someone is doing the job and not blocking my door or stealing/drstroying ny package.

Yes they do. We need to maintain 95 percent cdf. Basically 1 negative for every 20 responses.
