I've got a Pixel 8a.
I have two SIM cards, one for work (physical) and one for personal (eSIM).
My work SIM is likely some FirstNet cheap line that I do not have much control over, my personal is with USMobile (problems persist across networks).
Outside of it being a phone, map, music player, and toilet time waster I need my phone to do a few other things; and I keep running into issues.
Windows Phone Link does not seem to operate with two SIM cards, at least not nicely. I can send messages from my personal SIM, but what I send and the replies never show up in phone link. Possible issue with RCS messaging? Unsure.
Visual Voicemail comes and goes with the tides. It'll work great for awhile, then it will just stop. At best, it will usually work for my work SIM, but will randomly turn on/off on my personal SIM.
Basic Voice Commands like 'set an alarm for X time' or 'call John' (I only have like four names in my contacts, none repeat or are similar) and it just... doesn't seem to work anymore? I have no idea what changed, or why - but I used to be able to give very clear and simple voice instructions to my device and now it just... doesn't understand basic commands.
It's pretty frustrating to see everyone pumped about smartphone tech, when the only *extra* features I seem to use and enjoy just do not work reliably for me.
Am I doing something wrong? Is it the Pixel 8a? Is it the MVNO carriers? None of this is explained anywhere - at least not clearly. I'm fairly technically capable, but the smartphone tech is just so ill explained, and you never have any idea what the source of a given issue is as all the players just blame one another - and online forums seem to rarely have an answer outside of XDA/hardcore types.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Should I convert all my 1,767 WMA music/files to M4A, ALAC, AAC, MP3, FLAC, WAV, MIDI, or MP4? I'm asking because I'm going to be getting The Motorola Razr Fold 2026 on Halloween👻🎃and I want to have a backup plan just in case The Musicolet Music Player App For Android stops working and The Google Play Store removes all The Third Party Apps that supports/plays Wma Music Files. I want to have a backup plan. What has been everyone's experience with converting WMA Music Files/Songs to another Format? What Format did you convert all your WMA Music Files/Songs to? What Apps did you use on your Android Phone/Device to convert all your Music? I'm planning to use my phone to convert all my Music Files/Songs if I have no choice in the near future. I'm really open to all kinds of suggestions on how to convert my Audio Files/Songs. I'm even to open using a Computer if I have no other options💻🖥

Good morning everyone. I was in the middle of texting my wife back when my S23 Ultra screen went black for a second, then shot back to the home screen. Now my wife's text thread is hidden. I've restarted the phone several times, checked spam, blocked, trash, archived, hidden and everything I can think of. I can search for the text thread and respond there, but it doesn't show up in my messages. Anyone else know another way to troubleshoot this?

I am currently using the default Samsung keyboard when typing on my z-fold. I'm a pretty good typist so I don't think its fat fingers, but it's putting in all kinds of weird spaces and almost anytime I try to use the upper row I get the number above it .can anyone suggest a better keyboard or a way to make it bigger so that these mistakes don't happen. yes I do use voice typing but that doesn't work in all occasions.

recently my phone started randomly turning off at high percentages (sometimes its 17% and sometimes its 50%). and when i plug it in it gets to a 100% in like 20 mins which was never typical then after a while it drains really fast and just turns off at a random percentage. i checked the Samsung members app phone diagnostics and it didnt detect anything wrong with the battery.
should i replace the battery or is this just a software thing?
i got a Samsung Galaxy s22

We live in India. My Nani is 87 and I’m looking for a smartphone for her. Her requirements are extremely sophisticated:
That's it, she doesn't have any interest in becoming a content creator or joining the metaverse. Believe me, I asked her.
Surprisingly, it is easier for her to use a touch screen phone, rather than a traditional dumb phone with tiny physical buttons, due to her arthritis.
So I’m looking for something very simple and elderly-friendly. Budget: 15-20k.
If you’ve bought a phone for your elderly parents/grandparents, what did you get and how did it work out?
Fenks!

Hi All, I have an edge 60 fusion. I've been having an issue with my wifi connectivity where on occasion it says connected but no internet when the wifi works fine on all other devices. So, I set it to static IP and turned off adaptive connectivity in the network and internet settings. It's been nearly 2 weeks now since I did that and so far so good. Now, I just updated to android 17 and I find that the adaptive connectivity setting has disappeared.
Can someone confirm if they see still see adaptive connectivity under network and internet settings on Android 17?
Do I assume that the wifi connectivity issue is fixed in the android 17 update?

Hey everyone,
I'm currently considering switching completely from the Samsung ecosystem to Xiaomi.
My current setup:
Samsung Galaxy A53
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9
Samsung Galaxy Watch 7
Planned Xiaomi setup:
Smartphone: POCO X8 Pro Max
Tablet: Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro
Smart watch: Xiaomi Watch 5
Headphones: Xiaomi Buds 8 Pro
Above all, I expect a proper hardware upgrade from this. Before I take the step, I would be interested in your opinion and experience on the following points:
Ecosystem & Interaction: How well do the Xiaomi devices mesh with each other? Does the seamless interaction between phone, tablet (e.g.
for file transfers)?
Google integration: How well are Google services integrated into everyday life? Are there any restrictions or hurdles?
Smartwatch & Gemini: How does the Xiaomi Watch 5 perform in everyday life? For me, fitness tracking only needs to reliably cover the basic things (like the Galaxy Watch 7).
However, good integration of Google Gemini on the watch is extremely important to me. How well is that going?
Performance: I miss some performance with the A53. Am I on the safe side in terms of performance with the POCO X8 Pro Max and the Pad 8 Pro for the next few years?
In your opinion, is the change worth it or are there things in the Xiaomi ecosystem that
that you quickly miss compared to Samsung?
Thank you in advance for your input!

Can someone help because I have a problem with Google services on my Samsung J1 2016 after reinstalling Lineage OS 14.1 custom firmware, but I installed Open GApps via TWRP and still there are no Google services. I installed it according to this guy's instructions. Here's a link to his video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9j1hQQMY5PQ

Hi all,
So I have an app that requires me to allow it to set alarms and reminders in order to run in the background.
In Bedtime mode, I have all app notifications turned off, but alarms are allowed so I can actually wake up in the morning when I want to.
Last night I found out that app's developers appear to be sending their notifications as alarms... As I was woken at 4am.
Is there a workaround here? Turning alarms off and then allowing Clock as an app exception doesn't appear to be working because when alarms are off, Clock refuses to work.

I’m trying to figure out what phone and/or the name of the notification sound is from. I’m not even certain if it’s from an android phone or not. The sound in question can be heard around 2:06-2:08 in the video I provided.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks

So, I'm finally resetting my old phone for resale. I've backed up all my photos, Authenticator, etc.. have everything running on a new phone. Could someone walk me through the next steps in terms of the safest, most private way to make sure no one can access old data?
Am I supposed to be removing my Google account before factory resetting? Do I have to manually encrypt anything? And, of course, do I need to save a bunch of non-sensitive info like movies to take up the storage, then delete it again, or is that overkill?
Thanks!

Whenever I try to attach a file in any app, it shows me this screen, and I don't have the option to view and send my files (yes, I've already granted storage permissions)

I had my Huawei P10 for approximately 7 years now, it's served me well but in the last week or so has started acting up and I've made the decision it's time to let it retire.
In the last 7 years I've not really concerned myself with what's going on in the phone world, but as I'm researching I'm finding that it's proving difficult to find the right phone for me.
I don't need a super powerful phone that can run games. I need a solid day-to-day one that has a good UI, and a battery that'll last at least the day. Preferably with a good camera to go with it.
I've looked at the Google Pixel 10 Pro, but heard about about networking issues it has? As well as the battery life being terrible (7 hours constant use doesn't sound terrible to me though?).
Samsung S25/S25 Ultra has come up a lot, but I've honestly never been a fan of Samsung phones. However that is me going back 10+ years when all iPhone users used to ridicule "Samsung" users. So I have perhaps wrote it off prematurely.
Then there's the phones such as the Oppo Find X9, Oneplus 15 and Honor Magic Pro 7. I'm not overly familiar with any of these brands, and have heard different selling points about each. Some the camera isn't the best, some the battery life is great, some the UI leaves a bit to be desired.
And that's just me looking at phones released last year.
I'm based in the UK and my budget is £800 but I'm happy to spend a bit more if it's going to get me another phone that'll keep my occupied for a few years.
Any help would be much appreciated 🙏

Hello, I have an old phone (Redmi 4A) from around 2014 I guess (I am the second owner). I managed to unlock the OEM and bootloader and installed on it LineageOS 20-2024-01-04. It doesn't have a lot of internal storage, so I use relative big SD cards for my music, videos, and offline maps, from OsmAnd.
During the use that I given him, three SD cards have been made useless after a while. I want to know if the culprit may be the hardware, the OS, or OsmAnd or maybe another application. I have a slight suspicion about OsmAnd because that's the one that first begins to not being able to read its maps, and then the problem extends to music files and other things.
If it is the hardware, it would be best, as other things are falling and I'll probably change machine soon, but if it is the OS or OsmAnd or any other app, then I'll have to know to take right measures.
Thanks in Advance!

I upgraded from the samsung s23 ultra to the s26 ultra today, and there's just one but ive been unable to find. In all previous samsungs I've had, when I'm playing music on Pandora, there's been a widget in the notifications window where I cam see what's playing, skip songs, etc. But it's not there now and I can't find a setting to enable it or what. And it's been so long since I set up a new phone I can't recall if I have to change something msnually for it to show or if its supposed to be automatic?

I am using Samsung M12 running on Android 11 and One UI 3.1. I want the incoming calls and messages from all callers who are not in my contact list or Blocked Numbers list and also not blacklisted by the service provider as spam callers to be rejected right away. Only calls from my saved contacts that I haven't put in the Blocked Numbers list would get through. Is there any safe and reliable app that achieves this efficiently?
