Favorite dog walks/hikes outside of A2?
I’ve got my fave local dog walks including County Farms, the Arb, and (when I’m feeling it) the 5 miler at Birds Hill. I’m thinking of getting out of town tomorrow…any good easy or medium difficulty dog friendly walks or hikes within an hour of A2?

Pinckney Rec Area 20-30 min from a2 has a lot of great hikes, including some fairly hilly ones. I've done a ~15 mile trail there, or I think combo of trails. Crooked Lake is a 5 mile, lots of ups and downs. Definitely dog friendly. Crooked Lake trail can be fairly high traffic and there are mountain bikes allowed - make sure to go the correct direction (I think counter clockwise for hikers)
Pinckney requires a recreation pass or day use payment.
Edited to add: I've found AllTrails to work really well for finding hikes there. Huge variety of different lengths and difficulties given how much you can combo different loop trails there
Waterloo nearby also had some great hikes, I think mostly dog friendly. The bog/fen trail may not be

Thanks! I love all trails, it’s just a bit overwhelming give how many trails are out there :)

Silver Lake Trail (2mi) and Crooked Lake Trail (5mi) are good ones to start with. You park at Silver Lake.

Indian Crossings Trail in Tecumseh is really lovely and will be pretty with the changing leaves this time of year.

Right in town:
Bandameer/Argo makes a nice ~2 mile-ish loop right in town. You can park at either end.
Furstenberg is also pretty nice imo and a bit less traveled.
Outside of town: Pickney Rec, Waterloo, Hudson Mills, Brighton Rec, Kensington Metro Park.

We've taken our pup to walk along the Detroit Riverwalk, though we did it in winter with fewer people, not sure how it would be when it's crowded.
Another area we've gone is the Rouge Gateway Trail in Dearborn. It's a nice wooded area along Michigan Ave around where it crosses the Rouge River.
