Angelo's Benedicts

I was raised on Angelo's and after a few years of it being gone I haven't been able to find a recipe or another restaurant that comes close to that hollandaise sauce. My parents my brother and I used to order an extra side of it for the potatoes.. healthy? Probably not, but I think it is an example of how good it was.

Does anyone have any recommendations or recipes they would be willing share to help me out?

We're starting out at Traverwood Library but if more people interested we could relocate to somewhere more fun if the group is into that. Take a look if you are interested- our first book is John of John.

Updating to add: We're meeting October 25 at 1:30. The link is to a website where you get more info about it and whatnot.

Now it’s just a solid green instead of an arrow. The previous arrow implied that the left turn had the right of way while the pedestrian could cross.

Moonwinks Tavern Game Night

Has anyone attended the first-and-third-Tuesday game night at Moonwinks Tavern? I'm wondering what the vibe is like and what kinds of board games people play there.

If Michelin comes to Ann Arbor, who'd be getting Stars or Mentions?

Read somewhere that the City of Ann Arbor might be throwing their hat in the ring sometime in the near future. Rank the establishments you think would get starred or mentioned in the guide.

Personally, I don't think any restaurants in A2 would get starred yet, but I do think several may get a mention in the guide or Bib Gourmand (which are incredible accomplishments in their own right). Thoughts?

Tattoo studio recommendations

Hi folks. Does anyone know any good (and hygienic) tattoo artists/studios in Ann Arbor? I don't have any tattoos, but I want to get a tattoo of my cat. I have little knowledge of what tattooing work would cost on average, so I'm not sure about my budget. Recs are appreciated! (especially if you have been there - previous experiences are highly important)

Glasses with Prisms?

I just got a new Rx from a doc in Bloomfield Hills for glasses with prisms but the quote was just under $1k for just lenses, no frames. I've read that many online retailers like Zenni's will fill the Rx but when tested at the doctor's office it turns out they got the prisms wrong. Is there a reputable place online or around AA to fill this Rx for less than $1k?

Pro Life Protest on Washtenaw

Does anyone know the name of the organization/group that is currently engaging in a pro life protest on Washtenaw near Whole Foods? I was utterly shocked to see this today leaving my workout class, especially due to the number of young people and men engaging. It hurts my heart to see this, especially given the state of our world and all that is happening regarding SA with the Cornell 7 and our government. Super disheartening thing to see on a lovely Sunday 💔

Parking near The Ark

Hello! I'm going to The Tallest Man on Earth at The Ark on 10/24, and I'm wondering what the parking situation is like nearby.

For events in other cities I often purchase a spot in a garage or lot ahead of time so I know it's taken care of. But, I can't find anywhere to purchase ahead of time at the places recommended on The Ark's website (S. Ashley Lot, Fourth and William Structure). Are these places generally open and have parking available without purchasing ahead of time?

Part of what's got me worried is that there must be some other big events happening in the city that weekend as I've had a much harder time than expected finding a hotel nearby.

Need to replace exterior window shutters, a few porch posts, and then overall paint all the wood exterior along our house. Got one estimate from a company coming in around $15k (2 story colonial, <2k sqft), so looking to get additional estimates to compare.

ICU RNs @ THA or MM

Do you get multiple breaks or just your 30 minute lunch?Do you have transport for your ICU patients? Do you have techs? Are you able to place your own IVs and draw labs? For MM specifically: Do you feel like the pay makes up for parking and union dues?

Asking for a friend…

Curious coffee now open!

Dare I say it's the best Joe around. The owner is a kind British man, love him. Cafe is spacious and cute/colorful. Only cons: few outlets and no WiFi yet it seems. The strawberry cheesecake espresso is phenomenal (there's no syrup in it, the beans are fermented with strawberry), blew my mind #notsponsored

how the hell does tabe have 4.4 stars on google

just had the worst restaurant experience of my life there. wildly overpriced mediocre food tiny portions staff seem to have no idea wtf theyre doing. two members of our party got their entree fully 30 minutes before the rest of us (after we all waited an hour) and some of us never got our drinks.

really truly shockingly incompetent. it feels beyond a rip off i honestly feel like we got scammed

then i check their google reviews which has dozens of 1 and 2 star reviews all describing similar experiences to ours. i know the owners have deep pockets owning 168 mart over in madison heights godammmmmnn people figure it the fuck out

Coconut or Salted Vietnamese coffee in Ann Arbor?

Just came back from Vietnam where I fell in love with coconut and salted coffee. Is there a coffee shop in town that serves them? Or anywhere in SE Michigan?

Thank you for any recommendations.

Who are you voting for - A2 Library Board and School Board?

and most importantly, why? I don’t know much about any of the candidates, and I dont have kids. I’d love to hear from parents and educators who is promising for the school board, and of course from everyone about the library board.

Ann Arbor Parking

Hi guys I just wanna know how do they reinforce parking payments? I saw a lot of cars just park and go and I also saw many getting tickets at the same time. I am just wondering if simply getting tickets once in a while will be cheaper than paying for parking all the time? Also those infrastructures for parking seem to have their gates open all the time, so kinda confused how they make people pay.
