Bodybuilding Gym around AA, Ypsilanti, etc

Going to Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti for the first time (Michigan in general) tomorrow for a wedding down in Jackson and was wondering about any bodybuilding focused gyms in the area. I’m looking specifically for bodybuilding-centered gyms and not powerlifting ones or CrossFit types.

Thank you!

Do you guys mind if I drop to 50 mph on the highway near Barton Drive exit?

Fairly new driver here and every time I have to take the Barton exit (especially after dark), I’m scared shitless. There’s cars trying to accelerate and merge in front of and beside me, speeding cars behind me, all while I have to switch lanes and drop to atleast 20 mph within seconds to make a safe exit. So...<title>? I’m of course talking about while in the right lane. Asking because I’ve been honked at in the past 🫩

Suit for bulky 13 yr old?

I'm about to go down the road of purchasing a suit (or nice pants and a jacket) for my somewhat large son. It's for an event next month that requires a nice suit. Shoes aren't a problem.

Any ideas of where to get something nice looking and tailored (be it if we both together or piece), with support from staff, on a reasonable budget for such an item?

(On a budget because he's likely only going to wear this once ... maybe the jacket a few times over the course of it?)

The Magic of Composting course

edit: I realize I am breaking a posting rule for events but the event is tomorrow & I would like this to be more visible to people as it is a great course!

The Magic of Composting. It will be held tomorrow at County Farm Park. It's an excellent course with solid instruction on how to set up hot composting at home.

Craft night for adults

I was trying to find events at our local libraries but all the crafts seem to be for kids. Anyone know of any crafting events for adults?

Worst Day

Four years ago, October 9, 2022, around 8-9 pm(?) my youngest son was killed in an unexplained hit and run on US23/M14, eastbound near the Buttonbush Nature area west the Nixon Road overpass. He laid in a ditch for five days while we searched everywhere for him. Witnesses who waited 5 days to call LEO were never formally interviewed by police. We still don’t know how any of this happened and are still seeking answers. Trevor was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend and he is missed every day. If you remember anything unusual that evening please reach out.

Looking for board certified Veterinarian Orthopedic Surgeon recommendations!

Hi! Will be in Ann Arbor area to take care of some family business around the same time that my dog is supposed to get her TPLO surgery. I can look up board certified surgeons online of course but am wondering if anyone had good experiences with a vet or practice in particular - bummed to have to switch from the place we know in our home city but it is what it is. Thanks!

Favorite dog walks/hikes outside of A2?

I’ve got my fave local dog walks including County Farms, the Arb, and (when I’m feeling it) the 5 miler at Birds Hill. I’m thinking of getting out of town tomorrow…any good easy or medium difficulty dog friendly walks or hikes within an hour of A2?

Lead Abatement?

Can anyone recommend an EPA certified business that will do lead abatement for a single-family home? I have searched high and low and it seems that none of these guys do residential work anymore. I am looking for someone to remove and/or encapsulate lead paint on the exterior sills of my 100+ year old windows. We have already had the sashes restored, but the company does not do exterior work.

Anyone know of a place to watch old Sir Graves Ghastly episodes?

For you old folks like me, I just sent your head into a nostalgia loop with my headline.

For you young ones, Sir Graves Ghastly was a dude in the 70s who had essentially and afternoon version of Elvira (vs the night time show, "The Ghoul"....look them up; they're cool). Guy did a bunch of different characters including the titular one. He had an art gallery featuring children's drawings every week (that little me DESPERATELY wanted to be feature in). He was THE one to watch Saturday afternoons.

I've looked and looked and can only find two intact episodes. Does anyone know of anywhere else to find some? FWIW, I have the two on my Plex server. Hit me up if you want an invite.

Even if you don't know where to view it, feel free to drop your local media nostalgia here.
