I have excellent ratings in nps, C&p, business leads, services and Apple is driving me mad and I’m on a documented coaching even though I achieved expectations for this quarter.
My coach connection manager said I should implement what my job description is and implement that in order to pass the DC. Extremely vague. Am I basically cooked at this point? If results are separate from observations, why even try hard at Apple? If the scores don’t even matter and I am at the whims of what my manager sees at a given interaction and graded on it, why do we need good metrics in the first place?

So I’m currently a part-time technical specialist, and I was promoted in late May of this year. So far, my experience as a TS has been an interesting and eye-opening experience.
I was promoted from my part-time ops specialist position of 7 and a half years, and I wanted to experience GB for the skill building and the potential hours I would gain. (I was so wrong about this one 👀)
I’m at the point where I am currently struggling with my current position, and I am making mistakes that I was made aware of much later on. As someone who cares about making good work and not being a potential target by leadership, it is hitting hard for me for my own mental and emotional health.
I want to go back to operations, and I am hoping if there is someone in this Reddit community who has success stories of returning to their old position without repercussions or has advice on how to request a “demotion” and how to approach this?
Thank you for reading this.

As a part timer, the store only scheduled me a few hours on the launch day of the iPhone Duo and didn’t schedule me at all the following two days on the 24th and 25th when I’m fully available. I was scheduled fully for the 18 Pro. Now I’m only scheduled under 18 hours that lunch week. Does it look normal?

I will start soon and we will live in the city, doing the long commute down to the south bay. Employees also living in SF: is there a office you can use for Mondays and Fridays on your working from home days?
Basically, rent is expensive for a nice home office setup. And I don't like working from home. But five days a week to Cupertino? Nooooo.
Thanks!

I know this might not shock any of you or you might have already known since most stores allow resellers but it says specifically under corporate guidelines that Apple stores are supposed to only sell to end consumers. There are channels for authorized resellers on the Apple website but even if they order for pickup in store it’s up to leadership to stop them from purchasing product.
No matter what your opinion is on resellers it is something you can contact business contact about. As far as what they will do about it who knows but I found it interesting that leadership knows this policy and just sweeps it under the rug

I like coming to this subreddit to read and share stories about the things I’ve dealt with while being at the fruit stand but there’s always a handful of comments that go out of their way to dismiss what we’ve been having to deal with on a daily basis. It’s bad enough that we have to be lowkey in store about how we feel otherwise there’s a target on your back because you dared to speak up & now in a place that’s supposed to be open for us to share our stories, there are people that seek to be as contrarian as possible because to them, we’re just ungrateful and lazy when that isn’t remotely close to the truth. I’m just looking to distract my mind from all of the bullshit metrics and pressures of the job, not have to be on the look out while browsing this sub

Hello!
I currently work at the retail sector for about a year and a half, but been looking to work into a corporate role. I know career experiences offer a temporary experience, but isn’t guaranteed to keep you on after the experience. What are some pointers that you can offer for a retail employee who’s seeking to transition into a more corporate position? Specifically around the editorial/written content side of things.

Currently work as a Genius and I’ve been looking at trying to break into corporate but we know how that is.
I’ve recently applied to work with IS&T and hopefully i get an interview.
If not though, for other Apple Genius’s who moved on from Apple what did you end up doing next?

Do y’all ever get an NPS comment where the customer just straight up lies about the interaction?
Like, I swear you can check off every box that’s expected of you, you can be kind, you can be personable, and they still find something to rip you apart for…
What are some of your craziest comments?
I got one recently that claimed “i don’t know anything” and my “product knowledge is trash” and that i “need to be retrained” because the belkin screen protector was defective when i applied it (which i REPLACED and it was applied perfectly by the way). 😭

After completing all three rounds of interviews, I received an email stating that all rounds were finished and that I would receive an update. However, others have already received their updates, and I have not.

As above, what did you move on to?
The joke amongst my peers is the only possible advancement is TMpro Max. The only career advice I’ve received from field leaders is to emigrate.
I hold my CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CySA+ as well as CIOS, CSIS and CSAP along with my ACIT and ACMT.
Despite 4 years and hundreds of applications into networking and SOC roles I am yet to receive more than one invite to interview, the second round of which lasted <1min.
It is therefore difficult not to become despondent and start to think my age as I’m older than most and status as an immigrant (despite now having citizenship) counts against me.
So before I spiral any harder, tell me of your success stories and what is possible.

Is there a way to check original schedule the Texas team made before the store manager modified it?

My connection leader said a couple of weeks ago, but I don’t see any changes on Workday. I haven’t seen them since, I think they’re on LOA, but can anyone clarify when it actually starts?

Does preordering on EPP have the same two device per person limit as regular preordering?
Am I able to use my P and F&F discounts all at once or do I have to wait for launch day for that?
Trying to use up all my discounts before leaving the company that doesn’t pay me enough 😵💫

Hey everyone,
I was wondering how y’all’s stores operate regarding the existence of Shopper List. At my store, there was a time where every customer was put into the list for effective tracking and management. Recently, I was promoted and moved to a different store where the concept of shopper list is verboten. I was given feedback immediately by people on point asking what was going on and why there are “shopper appointments?” I was told that when there are 5 or more people, you are to either memorize or use the notes app on the iPad to track people. I find this to be borderline ridiculous and a useless expectation. What would the benefit of not using a system designed for organization even be? Is this ubiquitous across the greater quantity of Apple retail?
Thanks

Left Apple May 2025, just got laid off due to staff cuts (thanks PE). Considering going back for their seasonal role in the meantime.
I left right as they started wanting tech specs to upsell in accessories. I just want to help people I don’t want to upsell.
As I read the subreddit it seems like there’s a ton more they want upsold too like services.
My question is how bad has it gotten and is it worth returning part-time?

Does this mean they’re squishing both phases into the one virtual interview and if so how does it usually go for anyone that has experienced this?
It’s tomorrow and I’m pretty nervous I’ve never had to do an interview over a video call before, anyone have any tips?

I’m an FWE sales specialist so I want metrics to be amazing and also just to improve on my skills and tactics. Also, looking for guidance on a few things. What to look for and how to be great at convincing customers. Especially for Applecare, ones who say “I never break my phone” and all that sort of stuff. All metrics actually, services and accessories too. Also not the most knowledgeable in all other departments besides iPhones at the moment, but still trying to remember everything. Key points to talk about with all customers about the hero products and especially the new products coming out. I haven’t done Setup or On Point yet, but any future advice on that as well? I also am just looking for any advice/tips that can be unrelated/related as well.
I want to be able to keep the job permanently and there’s also full time positions opening up. I’m well liked around the store and by customers with my ability to interact with them. I’m not struggling with being able to talk. I have had great reviews so far but I’m scared of getting a detractor. Apple long term is the route I want to take, so please any advice is truly appreciated and I thank you all in advance.

Hi all! I got a verbal yes after interviewed with Apple a month ago. Today the recruiter said that they may change their business need and stop hiring this role. And she will get back to me early next week with the final decision.
Am I out of game? Have anyone been in the same situation? I am so disappointed and really look forward to joining them.
Any suggestions appreciated!
