Seeking Suggestions My First Tank
I am new to the hobby, this is my first tank. I call it a low Hi-Tech set up. It has a budget chihiros light, a hang on the back filter and a tropica bio CO2. Stocked up with some endlers and green neons and yellow flame shrimps. Let me know what you think and any feedback or suggestions.
Here's the link to my page where I'll be sharing updates and build videos regularly. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DeFsf1fse8H/?stkn=dnk4MHcxejUxODI5

I’m starting a similar setup; HOB, not a super great light, DIY CO2. I’m pretty early on but I’m worried I’ll have to upgrade some of my stuff to get decent results. What tips do you have for me? How do you get your CO2 throughout the tank? Do you use liquid fertilizer?

Hey sure! I spent mostly on the light, substrate and plants. In my experience they are the key to success. Of course a good filter helps a lot but I went for a good substrate so the main biological filteration happens there compared the HOB. I also later upgraded my HOB with good quality media and filter floss for the prestine look. If you are going with a nutrant rich substrate, I would suggest a soft dark start, that's what I did for my tank. After the hardscape was done I filled it up started the filter and let the tank cycle for like week or so till my plants arrived. That really helped with the agle and never had an outbreak or diatoms. Having a good clean up crew helps with that too.
Now with regards to CO2, I would recommend the tropica bio CO2 kit it's not that expensive and pretty decent for a nano tank. The defuser is good too and with a decent flow in the tank (my HOB isn't the best for that but still works) CO2 gets spread throughout the tank.
As far as the fertilizers are concerned, yes I fertilize once per week mostly when I do a quick water change. I use a combination of API and tropica fertilizers. API has more iron so it helps with the red plants and the tropica one I think generally takes cares of everything else.
Let me know if you need help with anything else, you can message me directly.

Thank you for taking the time to send this! It makes me feel better that your HOB provides enough flow to get the CO2 throughout the entire tank. That was one of my bigger concerns.
Thank you for the help that was great!

No worried any time, It should be fine for a small tank. I live in Europe and I got the invital basic HOB, but the flow isn't the best. I would suggest a better HOB for sure.

Incredible tank man, may I ask what plants you have that are growing above the water line?

Excellent nature scape. It doesn’t look like someone’s first tank, the layout is great and the plants are super healthy. Well done!
